Check whether your purchase may qualify
EA’s refund policy covers eligible full EA game downloads for PC or Mac and participating third-party titles purchased through the EA app or EA.com. A third-party title must have had the applicable EA refund-policy designation when you bought it. Use the Refund Tool to check the specific game; the general policy does not guarantee that every title, edition, or transaction qualifies.

EA’s current policy lists these request windows:
- Game launched: Request within 24 hours after the game is first launched.
- Game not launched: Request within 14 days of purchase.
- Pre-order: Request any time before release.
- Qualifying technical problems: For a new EA game bought within the first 30 days after release that cannot be played because of technical issues within EA’s control, request within 72 hours after the first launch. EA gives server issues and bugs as examples.
These are conditional policy periods, not a promise of approval. The seller, title and edition, payment method, and local law can affect the outcome.

Know which purchases have special rules
- Another seller processed the purchase: EA cannot process refunds for games bought through other online platforms or physical retailers. This includes purchases through PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, Epic, Apple or Google app stores, and retailers such as Target, Best Buy, or Walmart. Contact the store that took payment.
- DLC and in-game currency: Separately purchased downloadable content and in-game currency are not refundable under EA’s policy. Some editions that include virtual currency or content packs are also excluded.
- Bundles: If you bought a bundle, the included games and content must be returned together.
- Repeat requests: EA’s policy allows a refund for the same game only twice.
- Payment method: Some methods are non-refundable, including certain carrier-billing and cash methods, prepaid or voucher cards, and third-party payment providers. Check the transaction and payment method in your account.
Check your request or pre-order status
Open Payments & Wallet > Order history to review the transaction and refund status. EA’s Refund Tool can show up to 30 days of refund history, and EA’s order-history help page explains how to check the status of games bought through the EA app.
For a pre-order bought through the EA app, EA’s pre-order instructions describe canceling it in Order History before release. For a pre-order bought from another retailer, contact that retailer.

If the refund option is missing or the request is denied
Contact EA support if the Refund Tool does not resolve an eligibility question. EA advises contacting it before filing a chargeback if you believe an EA refund is owed. EA says a chargeback outside its policy may result in an account lock or restriction, or removal of the charged-back content.
