To recover a deleted Samsung Note, open Samsung Notes, tap the three-line Menu, choose Trash, press and hold the note, then tap Restore. Samsung documents a 15-day Trash retention period in regional support guides, so check promptly. If the note is no longer in Trash, recovery depends on whether a usable sync or device backup existed before deletion.
Restore a note from Samsung Notes Trash

Open Samsung Notes.

Tap the three-line Menu and choose Trash.

Press and hold the deleted note, then tap Restore. Some app versions let you select and restore multiple notes after the long press.

Samsung’s US support guide confirms that Trash is available in the Notes menu, while Samsung’s regional recovery guides describe restoring notes from there. Samsung Russia and Samsung Colombia document automatic deletion from Trash after 15 days. The Colombia guide applies to a Galaxy A10 running Android 9; the retention period is therefore Samsung’s documented guidance, not a guarantee for every region or app version. If the note is missing from Trash
Confirm the Samsung account and sync status
On the Galaxy device where you use Samsung Notes, check that you are signed in to the Samsung account associated with the notes and that Samsung Cloud sync is enabled in Samsung Notes. Do not assume another synced Galaxy has an old copy
Sync keeps devices aligned rather than preserving a separate archive. Samsung explains that when a synced note is deleted on one device, it is deleted on other devices logged into the same Samsung account as well. Check whether an earlier backup can help
Samsung Cloud device backup
Samsung Cloud’s website is not a per-note browser: Samsung says the portal can show a summary of synced app data, but users must open a compatible device and the relevant app to access that data; individual backups cannot be downloaded from the portal. On a Galaxy device, the documented device-restore path is Settings > Samsung account > Samsung Cloud > Restore data. Choose an available backup and review the data categories actually offered. Smart Switch backup
Smart Switch can restore a previously created backup from a Windows PC, Mac, microSD card or USB flash drive. Treat this as a check for an older backup, not a guaranteed Samsung Notes recovery method: Samsung’s cited Smart Switch guide does not establish Samsung Notes as a selectable backup category. What if Trash was emptied or the note aged out?
Samsung’s documented recovery instructions do not provide a way to restore a note after it has been removed from Trash. If no applicable prior sync or device backup is available, Samsung’s published route does not establish another recovery option. Generic Android data-recovery software is not a proven solution for Samsung Notes’ deleted private app data based on Samsung’s documentation. For device-specific guidance, contact Samsung Support.

Keep future notes recoverable

Check that Samsung Cloud sync or an appropriate device backup is enabled, and verify what data categories a backup actually contains.
