What Community posts can do for an always-on stream
YouTube posts can include text, images, video, polls, and quizzes. On desktop, you can schedule a post for a chosen date, time, and time zone. Posts may appear on your channel page and in Home and Subscriptions feeds; image posts may also appear in the Shorts feed. Subscribers may receive a notification, but none of these placements or notifications is guaranteed for every viewer.

Posts are unavailable to supervised accounts and channels set as Made for Kids. YouTube also applies a daily post limit, so plan within the limit shown for your channel rather than relying on an assumed number.
Build a promotion plan viewers have a reason to follow
1. State the stream’s promise
Describe the stream accurately and concretely: its subject, mood, or use. A viewer should understand why they might leave it on, whether it offers continuous music, a recurring discussion, or another consistent experience. Avoid implying that the content changes constantly if it does not.

2. Choose a sustainable cadence
Set a rhythm you can maintain without turning every post into the same reminder. YouTube recommends a regular schedule that complements other channel publishing, but it does not specify an optimal daily or weekly frequency for 24/7 streams. Treat cadence as an experiment for your channel, not a universal growth formula.
3. Match each format to a purpose

4. Link straight to the stream
Make the destination easy to reach: include the direct stream link in the post, rather than making viewers search for it. For a launch, special segment, or planned event within the continuous stream, YouTube’s live-event guidance supports sharing a teaser and stream link in advance.

5. Announce meaningful changes
If the theme, schedule, or availability changes—or the stream is interrupted—use a post to set expectations. Clear updates help keep a 24/7 promise trustworthy. YouTube’s schedule guidance recommends communicating schedule changes.

Promote a launch or scheduled special event
A continuous stream can still have moments worth promoting separately: its launch, a special program, or a planned change. Create a teaser and share the link before the event. If you schedule a live event, it may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can choose “Notify me.” That is a useful advance-promotion option, not a guarantee that the event will be shown to every subscriber.
Schedule posts on desktop and review what works
- Draft the post: choose a format—text, image, video, poll, or quiz—and make its purpose clear.
- Add the destination: include the direct link to the stream when the post is intended to send viewers there.
- Schedule publication: on desktop, select the date, time, and time zone offered in the scheduling workflow, then confirm the scheduled post.
- Check the channel’s schedule: keep the post aligned with the stream and any other uploads; communicate changes if plans shift.
- Review and adjust: compare your own posts and consider whether the effort and cadence are sustainable. Do not treat a change in performance as proof that a particular post format or frequency caused growth.
YouTube’s Android help also describes creating a post during a mobile live setup. Available options can depend on the workflow and account; use the controls displayed in YouTube Studio or the YouTube app for your channel.
