PDFCrowd can turn a webpage URL into a PDF. For a conventional document that prints across standard sheets, use a paper size such as A4 or Letter. To put the entire page on one unusually tall PDF page, set page_height=-1; the result may be less convenient to print or view. The instructions below use PDFCrowd’s HTTP API and save its returned PDF bytes.
Choose between one long page and a paginated PDF
“Full-page” can mean either that the PDF contains the whole webpage, flowing over multiple paper-sized pages, or that the whole page is placed on one vertically expanded PDF page. The first is usually the practical choice for printing and reading. The second avoids page breaks but can produce a very tall document.

PDFCrowd’s parameter reference describes page_height=-1 as expanding the page vertically to fit the content. It documents a safe maximum of 200 inches for custom heights and warns that larger dimensions may fail to open in some PDF viewers. See the parameter reference.
Convert a webpage URL with PDFCrowd’s HTTP API
Send the target page in the url field using an authenticated POST request. PDFCrowd’s HTTP guide documents Basic authentication with your PDFCrowd username and API key; a successful response is 200 OK with PDF bytes in the response body. Store those bytes as a PDF file. For an exact runnable request, follow the cURL syntax in PDFCrowd’s HTTP API code examples, adding page_height=-1 if you want one expanded page. Keep the API key private; do not embed it in public client-side code.
Make the webpage one vertically expanded PDF page
Add page_height=-1 to the request options. PDFCrowd will expand the page vertically to fit the content rather than splitting it into ordinary paper-sized pages. This is the setting to use when “full-page” specifically means one page, not just a PDF containing the entire website.
A very tall PDF is not automatically easier to use: it may be awkward to print, navigate, or open in some viewers. PDFCrowd’s parameter reference lists 200 inches as the safe maximum for custom heights and notes that larger dimensions may fail to open in some PDF viewers. If you need a familiar print format, use A4, Letter, or another supported standard size instead.

Control layout: viewport, paper, margins, and page content
Set the viewport separately from the PDF page size
The browser viewport determines how the site lays itself out before conversion; PDF page size determines the dimensions of the PDF sheets. They are separate controls. A wider viewport can trigger a desktop-oriented layout, while a smaller one may invoke mobile breakpoints. Choose the viewport that produces the layout you want, then choose the PDF paper size for printing or sharing. PDFCrowd’s HTTP API examples illustrate different viewport sizes.
Choose paper size, orientation, and margins
The documented default paper size is A4. PDFCrowd lists sizes from A0 through A6 and Letter; its guidance suggests A4 for international documents and Letter for US-based content. Set orientation and margins to suit the destination. The examples include both explicit margins and no_margins for edge-to-edge output. These controls affect the PDF page layout, not the webpage’s own CSS spacing. See the parameter reference and code examples.
Hide or change elements with CSS and JavaScript
If navigation, ads, or sidebars should not appear in the saved document, PDFCrowd’s examples show custom CSS for hiding those elements and custom JavaScript for changing page content. Selectors must match the actual webpage; a selector that does not match will not remove the intended element. Review the examples at HTTP API Code Examples.
Allow dynamic content time to render
For pages that load content after the initial response, PDFCrowd lists javascript_delay and wait_for_element among its controls. These can help when a page needs extra time or a particular element to appear, but the documentation does not promise identical results for every website or interactive state. Confirm that the desired content has rendered in the resulting PDF.
Other accepted input formats
The HTTP API also accepts an HTML file or an HTML string. If the document refers to local images or stylesheets, PDFCrowd’s guide directs users to bundle the document and its assets in an archive. Troubleshooting whitespace and conversion issues
There is still whitespace after changing PDF margins
PDF page margins and CSS margins or padding on the source page’s html and body elements are separate. If the PDF has unexpected edge spacing, inspect both. PDFCrowd’s FAQ recommends setting html, body margins and padding to zero when those source-document edges cause whitespace; see How do I change the PDF page layout?
The page is using the wrong desktop or mobile layout
Adjust the browser viewport, not just the paper size. The viewport controls responsive breakpoints, while the PDF page size controls the output sheet dimensions.
Some content is missing
For delayed content, try an appropriate javascript_delay or wait for a relevant element with wait_for_element. Also check whether custom CSS or JavaScript changes the page and whether its selectors match. Dynamic content behavior can vary by site, so inspect the resulting PDF rather than assuming every interactive state was captured.

The PDF will not open
If you requested a custom height, keep it within the documented safe maximum of 200 inches. PDFCrowd warns that larger dimensions may fail to open in some viewers; an ordinary paper-sized layout is an alternative.
