Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallPreventing missed SaaS account alerts takes more than switching notifications on: choose the events that matter, configure where they go, assign a human owner and backup, then verify the route. A rule can be active without proving that its message reached someone or was read. Use the steps below as a repeatable process, then check the platform-specific details. Exact menu names and licensing vary; confirm them in each service’s current documentation.
Build a reliable alert process
1. Decide which events warrant action
Start with events that could change access or signal an account problem: a new user or administrator, suspicious sign-ins, privilege changes, indicators of account compromise, or changes to alert and security settings. Map each event to the rules your service actually offers. Not every service tracks every example, and event names differ.

2. Enable the rule and its notification action
Check both whether the rule is active and whether it is configured to notify. For example, Google Workspace rule details show active status and whether the action is “Send notification”; Microsoft Defender policy conditions determine what activity generates an alert. An inactive rule, or one without a notification action, cannot serve the intended process. Google Workspace alert rules and Microsoft Defender alert policies document these settings.
3. Route notices to people who monitor them
Choose a monitored mailbox, approved team channel, or central alerting destination. Name a primary owner and a backup, and ensure both can access the destination. Avoid relying solely on one person’s inbox if that person may leave, be unavailable, or change roles. If notifications go to a group, check its membership and access settings, including whether it accepts messages from external senders.

4. Set urgency and control volume
Use severity, thresholds, or frequency controls where available to distinguish actionable incidents from routine activity. These controls and their eligibility can depend on the platform and subscription. Microsoft says unusual-activity policies may take up to seven days to establish a baseline; alerts are not generated while that baseline is being established. Google documents a maximum of approximately 300 alerts per rule in a 24-hour period. Microsoft’s alert-policy documentation and Google Workspace Help describe these limits and behaviors.
5. Test the path and inspect records
Where the service supports it, send a test notification or generate a safe, controlled event. Confirm that the expected destination receives it, then inspect alert history or logs for evidence that the rule triggered and a notification was sent. These checks help locate configuration gaps; they do not prove a person read or acted on the notice.

- POWERFUL SECURITY KEY: The Security Key C NFC is the essential physical passkey for protecting your digital life from phishing attacks. It ensures only you can access your accounts.
- WORKS WITH 1000+ ACCOUNTS: Compatible with Google, Microsoft, and Apple. A single Security Key C NFC secures 100 of your favorite accounts, including email, password managers, and more.
- FAST & CONVENIENT LOGIN: Plug in your Security Key C NFC via USB-C and tap it, or tap it against your phone (NFC) to authenticate. No batteries, no internet connection, and no extra fees required.
- TRUSTED PASSKEY TECHNOLOGY: Uses the latest passkey standards (FIDO2/WebAuthn & FIDO U2F) but does not support One-Time Passwords. For complex needs, check out the YubiKey 5 Series.
- BUILT TO LAST: Made from tough, waterproof, and crush-resistant materials. Manufactured in Sweden and programmed in the USA with the highest security standards.
6. Revisit ownership and coverage
Review recipients and permissions when staff, on-call rotations, groups, or licenses change. For critical alerts, make the response owner and escalation path explicit. Periodically check that the event rules, destinations, and backup coverage still match the team’s responsibilities.
What to check in each platform
| Platform | Configuration and routing | Limits, eligibility, and verification |
|---|---|---|
| Google Workspace | Available rules can cover trackable events such as suspicious logins, compromised devices, leaked passwords, or new users. Administrators can enable alerts, set severity, and select all super administrators, named recipients, or groups. Confirm the rule is active and its action says “Send notification.” | Alert Center emails use UTC. Google documents a maximum of approximately 300 alerts per rule in 24 hours. Group access settings can prevent external notification senders from reaching a group. See Google Workspace alert rules. |
| Microsoft Defender | Configure activity conditions and trigger frequency, severity, and email recipients. Alerts also appear in the Defender portal. | Threshold and unusual-activity triggers require qualifying subscriptions; check availability for your organization’s plan. Unusual-activity baselines can take up to seven days to establish, and alerts are not generated during that period. See Microsoft Defender alert policies. |
| Amazon CloudWatch | A new alert does not notify anyone until a notification rule is added. Route warning and critical states to different destinations if useful, and configure a recovery-to-OK notice. Destinations described in AWS documentation include Slack and Amazon SNS. | CloudWatch retains telemetry for alert state changes, configuration changes, and sent notifications for 90 days. AWS puts it plainly: “A new alert sends nothing until you add a notification rule, and you can disable an alert’s notifications without deleting it.” See Amazon CloudWatch alarms documentation. |
| Slack | Enterprise audit logs can be filtered and exported; the Audit Logs API can feed a SIEM or custom monitoring tool. Security notifications in Slack’s documentation are tied to configured anomaly-event responses, not a general notification feed for every audit event. | Audit-log features require an Enterprise subscription and an appropriate role. See Slack audit logs documentation. |
How to handle account-creation alerts
If the requirement is “notify me when an administrator creates an account in this tenant,” first identify the service’s event or rule for user creation. Confirm that it includes the administrator-initiated creation you care about, enable the rule, and route notifications to the monitored team destination with an owner and backup. Then use a supported test or safe controlled event and check the alert history and destination. Do not assume that a general security alert covers every account creation; verify the event coverage in the relevant platform documentation.

Check alert routes against operational needs
When choosing among a mailbox, chat channel, or central monitoring system, compare the things that determine whether a notice can be acted on:
- Which events and severity levels the route covers.
- Whether thresholds or frequency can be tuned to limit noise.
- Whether alert history, sent-notification records, or audit logs are available.
- Who owns the response, who provides backup, and whether both have access.
- Which permissions or subscription plans are required.
- Whether the destination is actively monitored and has an escalation path.
The evidence available does not establish that email, chat, SMS, or another channel is universally the most reliable choice. Select a route your team can monitor and verify it in practice. For broader visibility across services, platform audit logs and external monitoring integrations may help, but check their permissions, plan requirements, and actual event coverage. SaaS Alerts reported “Over 31 million logged events” and “Over 10% of Slack alerts were critical” in its 2025 report on events observed in 2024. Those are findings from that vendor’s own dataset, not an industry-wide rate. SaaS Alerts 2025 report.
