Anthropic’s current credential is the Claude Certified Architect, Foundations, a technical exam for solution architects building production applications with Claude. The official exam listing describes a 60-question, 120-minute assessment and publishes five weighted domains. Those details support a focused two-week study plan, but they do not verify a score of 880 or show that two weeks is enough for every candidate. The official sources do not publish a pass rate, typical score, or study-time benchmark.

What the exam covers

Anthropic Academy lists five domains. The weights show how much each domain contributes to the published blueprint, not how Anthropic recommends dividing study time.

Domain Blueprint weight Practical preparation emphasis
Agentic Architecture & Orchestration 27% Give this the largest share of practice; understand how to design and coordinate Claude-powered agents for production applications.
Claude Code Configuration & Workflows 20% Review configuration and workflows involving Claude Code.
Prompt Engineering & Structured Output 20% Practice designing prompts and producing structured outputs.
Tool Design & MCP Integration 18% Cover tool design and MCP integration rather than treating them as optional extras.
Context Management & Reliability 15% Review how to manage context and build for reliability.

The three largest domains together make up 67% of the blueprint (27% + 20% + 20%). That makes them sensible priorities when time is limited, while the remaining 33% is still too substantial to skip.

How to prepare over two weeks

Use the two-week window as a planning frame, not a promise of a particular result. Anthropic does not publish an official two-week schedule, and a useful pace depends on your existing experience with Claude, APIs, agents, and production system design.

Days 1–2: Map the blueprint and identify gaps

  • Read the current Anthropic Academy exam page and exam guide linked there. Record the five domains and their weights.
  • For each domain, note which concepts you can explain and apply, and which you need to revisit. Use the weights to rank gaps, not to ignore lower-weight areas.
  • Check the live listing for current exam logistics and available preparation materials; these can change.

Days 3–6: Build core knowledge using official materials

Anthropic Academy identifies its courses as preparation resources and says free Academy courses cover the exam domains. Its example course, “Building with the Claude API Level 100–200,” describes coverage including authentication, prompt engineering, evaluations, tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, agents, and production patterns. Course availability and naming can change, so confirm the current catalog rather than relying on an old listing.

  • Work through the official exam guide alongside relevant Academy courses.
  • Connect each topic to one or more blueprint domains, especially where concepts overlap—for example, how tool use relates to agent orchestration and reliability.
  • Make brief notes on design choices and trade-offs, rather than only memorizing terms.

Days 7–10: Practice across all five domains

Use the official guide and course material to create or find practice questions that test application, not just recall. The available official sources establish the blueprint and resources, but do not provide a validated third-party question bank or a published practice-test score benchmark.

  • Spend more practice time on agentic architecture, Claude Code workflows, and prompt engineering because they account for the largest combined share.
  • Include tool design and MCP, plus context management and reliability, in every review cycle.
  • For missed questions or uncertain answers, revisit the relevant concept and explain why the chosen approach fits the stated requirements.

Days 11–13: Consolidate weak areas

Return to the topics where you struggled. A useful final review is to explain a production design aloud or in writing: what the application needs to do, how Claude fits into the system, what tools or structured outputs are involved, and how context and reliability are handled. This is a study technique, not an official exam format claim.

Day 14: Review and prepare for the logistics

Do a concise pass through all five domains and check the Academy listing for current delivery instructions. Avoid treating a practice result or a short timetable as a prediction of your official outcome; Anthropic does not publish score distributions or evidence that a two-week plan reliably produces a particular score.

Plan for the exam’s time limit

The Academy listing states 60 questions and 120 minutes, which works out to an average of two minutes per question. That is an arithmetic average, not an official per-question allowance or a guarantee that every question takes the same time. When practicing, answer the questions you can resolve efficiently, mark uncertain ones if the interface permits, and preserve time to revisit them.

What the published 880 score and two-week claim establish

The title’s first-person claims—an 880 score and preparation in two weeks—are not verified by Anthropic’s public exam page or partner announcements. The public sources do not establish the author’s score report, study hours, prior experience, exact resources, or sequence. They therefore cannot support presenting a particular schedule as the author’s proven routine or suggesting that another candidate should expect the same score.

Anthropic’s March 12, 2026 announcement calls the assessment “a technical exam for solution architects building production applications with Claude.” That positioning is a better guide to the kind of preparation required than a generic review of chatbot features.

Who the credential is for, and what it does not promise

The certification is aimed at people designing production applications with Claude. It can also be relevant in the context of Anthropic’s partner ecosystem: Anthropic’s March 2026 announcement described a Claude Partner Network for organizations helping enterprises adopt Claude, and its June 2026 Services Track announcement said individual certifications are earned through Partner Academy exams. Those announcements explain the professional context; they do not establish an employment, salary, or revenue outcome for an individual certificate holder.

Anthropic reported in June 2026 that more than 40,000 firms had applied to the network and more than 10,000 consultants had earned a Claude certification. These are company-reported network figures, not exam pass-rate or candidate-performance statistics. Likewise, the $100 million investment Anthropic announced for partner training, technical support, and joint market development is program context, not an individual candidate’s study budget.

Current exam logistics to verify before booking

At the time the Anthropic Academy listing was accessed in October 2026, it stated the following. Confirm the live page before registering because exam terms and availability may change.

  • Duration: 120 minutes for 60 questions.
  • Language: English.
  • Delivery: online proctoring or a Pearson test center.
  • Listed fee: US$125.
  • Validity: 12 months.

The current listing is the source for these logistics: Claude Certified Architect – Foundations.
