To play Spotify Music Quiz with friends, open a participating artist’s quiz from that artist’s Now Playing screen, finish it, then share your score or use the friend-challenge option if the quiz offers one. Spotify’s documented BTS quiz lets players tap “Challenge a friend” and sends both scorecards to Your Updates after both players finish; Spotify has not said every artist quiz uses the same controls.
Where to find Spotify Music Quiz
- Update the Spotify app to its latest version.
- Play a track by an artist with an available Music Quiz.
- Open the Now Playing view and scroll down to the Music Quiz card.
- Tap the card, answer the questions, and finish the quiz to reveal your score.
- Share your result or challenge a friend if that option appears for the quiz.
Spotify says quiz questions can include music trivia, album-cover reveals, and identifying a song from an audio preview. They draw on an artist’s catalog, career milestones, and defining moments. How to challenge a friend
Use the quiz’s own challenge option
Challenge controls may vary by quiz. In Spotify’s instructions for the BTS Music Quiz, the flow is to tap “Challenge a friend.” After both players complete that quiz, each receives a scorecard through Your Updates. Share a score if there is no challenge button
When a quiz has no visible friend-challenge control, finish it and use the result-sharing option if available. Spotify describes sharing results as part of the Music Quiz experience, but does not specify one universal challenge workflow for all quizzes.

Who can access Music Quiz?
Spotify announced the broader Music Quiz rollout on October 6, 2026. It is beginning gradually for Premium listeners aged 18 and older in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Nigeria, South Africa, and Indonesia. The initial selection includes quizzes for more than 2,000 artists in English. Spotify says more artists, languages, and markets are planned, without giving a schedule. The BTS quiz has separate availability terms: Spotify said on March 20, 2026 that Premium listeners globally could play it in English, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. Why can’t I see Music Quiz?
- Your app may need an update. Install the latest Spotify app version and check the artist’s Now Playing screen again.
- Your account or country may not meet the general rollout terms. The October 2026 announcement specifies Premium, age 18+, and the 11 listed countries.
- The rollout may not have reached you yet. Spotify says availability is gradual and may not appear immediately for every listener.
- The artist may not have a quiz available to you. The entry card is tied to a participating artist, and Spotify says the feature may not show for every artist.
- You may be looking for an artist-specific exception. BTS has its own availability announcement and languages; that does not establish access to the general feature in other countries.
Is Music Quiz the same as Spotify Jam?
No. Music Quiz tests knowledge of an artist and lets players compare scores. Jam is for shared listening: participants add songs to a shared queue and listen together in person or remotely. Spotify says Premium is required to start and host a Jam. Free users can join an in-person Jam hosted by a Premium user, while remote joining requires Premium.
