No More Room in Hell 2 supports online co-op for up to eight players, and its Steam listing identifies cross-platform multiplayer. Use the game’s current social or party invite flow to bring friends together, then check that everyone appears in the group before starting. The listing confirms those broad features but does not document the exact invitation steps or every supported platform pairing.
What playing together involves
The game is an eight-player zombie shooter built around joining other responders, completing missions, and surviving as a team. Its Scenario Mode has players tackle objectives and extract supplies across six maps in the Northeast Coast of the United States, according to the Steam store listing.

Communication and cooperation matter: the listing highlights proximity voice chat and scarce resources that players need to share. Infection can also lead to the permanent loss of a Responder and that character’s individual progress, so a failed run can have consequences beyond losing the current match.
How to get a group together
- Confirm access and compatibility. Make sure each friend can access the game and meets the requirements for their platform. For PC requirements, see the specifications below.
- Check platform support. The Steam listing describes cross-platform multiplayer, but it does not enumerate supported platform pairings or account-linking steps. For a mixed-platform group, check the game’s current social interface and platform support before arranging a session.
- Invite friends through the current social or party flow. Use the options available in the game. The official listing does not provide a dependable button-by-button walkthrough, so a particular menu path or sequence cannot be confirmed here.
- Verify the group before starting. Check that each invited friend appears in the group or lobby before beginning the session.
- Coordinate in the session. Use proximity voice chat to discuss objectives and scarce supplies. A headset with a microphone can make voice chat easier to use, but a headset is not listed as a requirement.

- HOW TO PLAY: The Dealer draws a Scenario Card and reads it aloud. The other players choose two of their Action Cards and play them, facedown. The Dealer shuffles the Action Cards and picks the one they definitely would not do, saying "HELL NO!" Then, they pick the Action Card they definitely would do, saying "HELL YEAH!"
- SITUATION: While scuba diving, your wound starts bleeding, and sharks begin to circle. What do you do?
- ACTION: Ask for an autograph! Hell No
- ACTION: Use your jetpack to escape! Hell Yeah
- REPEAT PLAY: With 135 Situation Cards and 387 Action Cards you'll never run out of wild predicaments

The Steam page also lists Xbox and PlayStation controller support. A controller is optional, not a requirement for playing with friends.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. If a friend’s invitation does not work
A player-submitted Steam Community issue discussion suggests checking the friend’s status in the social menu. The poster says that if the status shows “playing game” rather than “in main menu,” the friend should restart; if an invitation is visible, accept it once, either from the notification or the social menu. This is anecdotal player advice, not an official or verified fix, and interface behavior may change.

If that suggestion does not help, confirm that both players are online and can access the game’s social features, then retry the invite flow shown in the current interface. For persistent problems, check current official support information or patch notes; the cited sources do not establish a universal fix for invitation or connection failures.
