To play Amazon Luna, open the Luna app on a supported TV or visit luna.amazon.com in a supported browser on a PC, Mac, or mobile device, then sign in and choose a game. Luna streams games over the internet, so you do not install the streamed game on your device. Check Amazon’s current compatibility list for your model and software version before you start.
Before you start: check compatibility, access, and internet
Luna runs games on remote AWS servers and streams the picture and sound to your screen. You need a supported device, an internet connection, and access to the game you want to play. Amazon’s requirements can change; check its device and browser compatibility list for your exact model and software version.

- Internet: Amazon lists 10 Mbps as the minimum streaming speed. It recommends wired Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi for best performance.
- Game access: A rotating selection of games is included with Prime for eligible members. Amazon also describes Luna Premium as a paid plan. Catalogs, plans, prices, and availability vary by country and can change.
- Input: Most games need a compatible controller or a mouse and keyboard. Requirements depend on the game; check its input options.
Amazon says actual streaming quality and latency depend on your device, location, connection, bandwidth, and subscription status. Meeting the minimum speed does not guarantee a particular resolution or response time.

Play Luna on a TV
Use the Luna app or a supported TV’s gaming hub rather than assuming any smart-TV browser will work. Amazon says other devices may be accessible with Chrome, but gameplay quality and features might not work as expected.

Fire TV
- Confirm that your Fire TV device runs Fire OS 5, Vega OS 1.1, or later, as listed by Amazon.
- Open the Luna app, or follow an on-screen Luna prompt if one appears on your device.
- In the U.S. and UK, Amazon also describes a Luna launch option in the Prime Video app’s Games tab on Fire TV.
- Sign in, select a game, and connect a supported controller or use another input method supported by that game.
Samsung smart TV
- Check Amazon’s compatibility table against your TV’s exact model and software. Amazon lists supported 2020–2025 generations, with limitations for some models and years.
- Open Luna from the Samsung Gaming Hub launcher bar or find it in the Samsung app store.
- Choose a supported input method. Bluetooth is unavailable on several Samsung models listed by Amazon, so check the device-specific guidance before relying on a Bluetooth controller.
LG smart TV
- Check Amazon’s table for your exact LG model and minimum webOS and software version. Amazon lists supported 2021–2025 generations.
- Open Luna using the TV’s supported app or launcher option, then sign in and choose a game.
TV generations and model requirements are not interchangeable: a TV brand alone does not establish Luna support. Consult Amazon’s current compatibility list before troubleshooting an app that is missing.
Play on a PC or Mac
- Open luna.amazon.com in Chrome 83 or later, or Microsoft Edge 90 or later. Amazon lists these browser versions for PC and Mac.
- Sign in to your Amazon account and select an available game.
- Use a compatible controller, or use a mouse and keyboard if the game supports them.
The game streams in the browser; you do not download the streamed game to your computer. If the site does not work as expected, confirm the browser version and device against Amazon’s compatibility guidance.

Play directly on an iPhone, iPad, or Android device
- On iPhone or iPad, open Luna in Safari on iOS 15 or later, or iPadOS 15 or later.
- On Android, use Chrome 86 or later on Android 10 or later.
- Sign in, choose a game, and use an input method supported by that title.
Direct mobile play means the game video streams to the phone or tablet. It is different from using a phone as a controller for a game running on a TV.

Use a phone as a TV controller with GameNight
GameNight lets you use a phone as the controller for a TV session, rather than streaming the game to the phone. Amazon’s described setup uses a QR code: launch GameNight on a supported TV, scan the on-screen code with your phone, then follow the prompts to join and control the game. This option depends on the device and game being supported.

Choose and connect an input method
The Amazon Luna Controller is optional, not a requirement. Amazon’s compatibility guidance names selected Luna, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch Pro, and Google Stadia controllers; compatibility varies by device. Other controllers may work, but Amazon says some features may be unavailable. Check Amazon’s controller and device guidance and the individual game’s input options.
- Controller: Use one listed for your device, connecting it in the way that device supports.
- Mouse and keyboard: Use these on PC or Mac when the game supports them.
- Phone controller: Use the GameNight QR-code flow for a supported TV session; it is not a substitute for direct mobile streaming.

When Luna does not work as expected
- Luna is missing from a TV: Check the exact model and software against Amazon’s current compatibility table; a smart TV is not automatically supported.
- The game will not start or controls do not respond: Check whether the title is available to your account and region, and verify that your controller or keyboard-and-mouse setup is supported for that game and device.
- Streaming stutters or feels delayed: Amazon recommends Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi and lists 10 Mbps as the minimum. Device, location, connection quality, bandwidth, and subscription status also affect results.
- Trying to use a phone with a TV: For phone-as-controller play, use the GameNight QR-code flow on a supported TV; opening Luna in a mobile browser streams the game directly to the phone instead.
