Plan a Rally Bar 2 room by choosing its deployment mode first—PC-based, Android-based, or BYOD—then check camera framing, audio coverage, mounting, power, network, cable routes, and room controls against the actual space. Logitech describes the bar for medium to large meeting rooms, but no single specification can confirm that it will suit every room or platform configuration.
Start with the room and the way people will join meetings
Before selecting accessories or deciding where to mount the bar, make a room plan. Rally Bar 2 can be configured as a PC-based or Android-based room system, or used in BYOD mode. Those are different operating models, not interchangeable wiring diagrams: the host computer, room account, conferencing platform, and control arrangement depend on the configuration you choose.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Room layout: note room dimensions, table orientation, seating positions, and where participants are likely to sit or stand.
- Display: record its size, location, mounting arrangement, and the position available for the video bar.
- Meeting workflow: decide whether the room will have a dedicated computer, run as an Android-based room system, or rely on participants bringing their own computers.
- Platform and accounts: identify the intended conferencing service and ask the platform administrator to confirm current certification, room-account, and licensing requirements for the chosen configuration.
- Infrastructure: mark wired network and power locations, likely cable routes, and any network or security restrictions.
- Room operation: decide whether users need a dedicated touch controller and who will manage the system after installation.
These inputs turn a product choice into an installable plan. They also expose unanswered questions early: Logitech’s product specifications do not establish your organization’s firewall rules, account entitlements, or service-specific deployment requirements.

Choose the deployment mode before designing connections
Logitech identifies three ways to configure Rally Bar 2. Select one based on how the room will be operated, then verify its exact hardware and platform requirements in current official setup documentation for that combination. The available product information confirms the modes but does not provide enough detail to prescribe platform-specific wiring or licensing.
| Mode | What to plan | What to verify before purchase |
|---|---|---|
| PC-based room system | A room computer and its connections to the bar and display, as required by the selected platform. | Supported platform configuration, computer requirements, room-account and license needs, and the supported control arrangement. |
| Android-based room system | The room-system configuration, its operating workflow, and any dedicated room control. | That the intended conferencing platform, room account, license, and controller arrangement are supported together. |
| BYOD | How a visitor or employee will connect a computer and use the room’s audio and video in that workflow. | The precise connection method, supported equipment combination, and what users must bring or do to start a meeting. |
PC-based: account for the room computer
A PC-based room needs a place for its computer and a planned connection path to the bar and display. Do not assume that the connection details are identical across conferencing platforms or room-PC configurations. Ask the platform administrator or integrator to confirm the supported arrangement, then include the computer’s position and service access in the room drawing.
Android-based: validate the room configuration as a whole
For an Android-based room system, confirm the supported platform configuration, room account and license, and controller arrangement together. The fact that the bar supports this mode does not, by itself, establish that a particular service subscription or account is suitable.
BYOD: design the user handoff
For BYOD, map how someone connects a laptop and how the room’s camera, microphones, and speakers are used. Check the exact connection workflow against current documentation for the selected equipment and platform; the product pages used here do not specify enough detail to give a universal cable recipe. Make the planned handoff understandable to occasional room users, not just the installer.
Check camera framing, display fit, and mounting position
Compare the bar’s physical width and published viewing angles with the display, seating, and likely participant positions. Logitech lists a one-inch imaging sensor, a 115° diagonal field of view (103° horizontal and 60° vertical), and 4X HD digital zoom. Those are specifications, not a guarantee that everyone will be comfortably framed from a particular mounting point.

Use a room drawing to mark the bar’s proposed position, the display edges, the near and far seats, and the view toward the participants. Consider the actual table orientation and the people who may sit outside the central line of sight. If the view or position is uncertain, evaluate it in the room before finalizing the mount location rather than treating the field-of-view figure as a substitute for a site check.
| Published item | Logitech specification | Planning use |
|---|---|---|
| Imaging sensor | 1 inch | Record the camera specification when comparing the proposed bar with room requirements. |
| Field of view | 115° diagonal; 103° horizontal; 60° vertical | Assess whether the proposed position can see the intended seating area. |
| Digital zoom | 4X HD | Treat as a camera capability, not a promise that every participant will be framed well in every room. |
| Listed video modes | 4K, 1440p, 1080p, 900p, 720p, and SD at 30 fps | Check the platform and configuration before assuming a particular meeting will use a particular output mode. |
The listed video modes do not guarantee that a call will be delivered in 4K. Platform and configuration can affect call output, so confirm what the chosen service and room setup support.
Check dimensions and weight against the actual installation
Logitech lists the bar at 860 mm wide, 97 mm high, and 93 mm deep, with a weight of 4.8 kg. Compare those dimensions with the display and available mounting area; check clearance for the intended mount and for access to connectors. The included wall mount is one option to assess, but the right mounting solution depends on the actual display and room installation. Verify any separate mounting solution for the intended configuration rather than assuming it is included or compatible.
Decide whether the built-in audio suits the seating plan
Rally Bar 2 has a six-microphone array, two full-range speakers, and two tweeters, according to Logitech. The listed microphone frequency response is 90 Hz–16 kHz. These specifications describe components; they do not determine microphone coverage or intelligibility for a particular room, seating arrangement, or acoustic environment.
Start by comparing participant positions with the proposed bar location and considering the room’s acoustic conditions. If people sit at distant ends of a long table or occupy more than one seating area, treat expanded audio as a design question to investigate, not an automatic accessory purchase. Logitech describes adding in-room devices such as Rally Mic Pod 2 using category cabling with Logitech Link, but the supplied product information does not establish the right number or placement of additional microphones for your room.

- Map usual participant seats and any positions where people need to speak from.
- Assess whether the built-in microphone and speaker arrangement is appropriate for those positions and the room’s acoustics.
- If considering additional microphones, confirm the exact Rally Mic Pod 2, cabling, and configuration in current Rally Bar 2 documentation.
- Keep cable routes and connection locations in the room plan so audio expansion does not become an improvised installation change.
Logitech also describes AI audio processing and recommends considering additional in-room devices for scaling. That guidance is not a substitute for evaluating the room itself.
Plan the display, network, power, and cable routes together
Infrastructure planning should happen before the bar is mounted. Cable reach, connector access, and network policy can affect where equipment belongs, while a late change to the display or computer location can invalidate an otherwise tidy route.
The following connectivity and power figures come from Logitech’s UK specification. Confirm the applicable regional model and specification for the unit you are ordering.
| Item in UK specification | Listed detail | Planning check |
|---|---|---|
| Ethernet | 10/100/1G | Confirm a suitable wired network connection and that its use fits organizational policy. |
| USB | Two USB-A ports and one USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode | Reserve ports for the selected design only after checking the exact deployment documentation. |
| HDMI cable | 2 m | Compare the listed length with the planned equipment positions and route. |
| AC cable | 3 m | Check the power outlet location and cable path. |
| Power input | 100–240 V | Confirm the regional power arrangement and available outlet at the installation site. |
Logitech lists proxy support and security features, but those statements do not answer whether the device meets your organization’s network or security requirements. Have IT review the intended network path, proxy and security policies, and any service-specific connectivity requirements before installation. Do not infer firewall rules or account configuration from a product specification sheet.
Draw routes and preserve service access
On the room plan, trace each intended cable from its source to its destination and check whether the route is both long enough and practical. Allow access to the connectors that may need troubleshooting or servicing; a route that works only when equipment is dismantled is a poor service plan. Check the included cable lengths against actual measurements instead of assuming they will reach because they are in the box.

Choose room controls and management in context
Logitech’s Rally Bar 2 room imagery shows Tap IP 2, and Logitech names Logitech Sync for management. Treat those as prompts to confirm the control and management plan, not proof that a specific controller or software arrangement is right for every deployment.
Before ordering a controller, confirm that it is supported for the bar’s chosen software mode and conferencing platform. Ask who will manage the device and what management functions the organization needs. The available sources do not establish the exact compatibility requirements for every combination, so verify them against current Logitech setup and compatibility documentation for the intended room configuration.
A 2022 Logitech accessory datasheet describes Tap IP as a 10.1-inch touchscreen and PoE device. That is general accessory context, not current proof of compatibility with Rally Bar 2. Do not use it alone to specify a controller for a new installation.

Use a practical approval checklist
Before procurement or installation, the room owner, IT administrator, and installer should be able to agree on the following items:
- Room and seating: dimensions, table orientation, participant locations, display position, and a proposed camera view have been recorded.
- Operating mode: PC-based, Android-based, or BYOD has been selected based on how people will run meetings.
- Platform setup: the current platform documentation and administrator confirm supported configuration, room account, and license requirements.
- Mount and camera: the proposed bar position fits the display and installation, and the view has been assessed against participant locations.
- Audio: the built-in system has been considered against the room layout; any expansion has a verified configuration rather than an assumed accessory count.
- Infrastructure: power, wired network, cable lengths, routes, network/security review, and service access are accounted for.
- Controls and management: the controller and management approach have been verified for the selected mode.
- Order contents: regional SKU, warranty, included items, and every accessory have been checked with the supplier or current Logitech documentation.
Common planning mistakes to avoid
Ordering accessories before choosing the operating mode
The deployment mode affects the computing and control design. Resolve that first, then verify accessories against the chosen configuration.
Recommended Free Tools
Treating specifications as room-performance guarantees
Field of view, zoom, video modes, and audio components are published capabilities. They do not prove that the camera view or audio coverage will suit your actual table and room.
Assuming the listed ports answer the wiring question
Port and cable specifications help with planning, but they do not provide a complete deployment diagram for every platform. Use current setup documentation for the precise equipment combination.
Relying on an older accessory document as compatibility proof
A general accessory reference—including the 2022 Tap IP datasheet—does not establish current Rally Bar 2 compatibility. Check the specific accessory and configuration in current documentation.
Leaving network review until installation day
Proxy support and listed security features do not replace an organization-specific network review. Confirm access and policy requirements with IT while the room plan is still flexible.
