If you mean a YouTube Premium subscription, you can pay with UPI in India when UPI appears as an option in the checkout used for your account. For a recurring subscription, Google Play may ask you to approve a UPI AutoPay mandate. If you mean a channel membership for a channel that streams 24/7, that is a separate purchase: check the payment methods and renewal terms shown when you select Join.
First, identify what you are paying for
“YouTube 24/7 streaming service” is not the name of a YouTube billing product. YouTube Premium is a subscription to Premium benefits; it does not buy access to a particular 24/7 stream. A channel membership is a separate monthly payment for perks offered by an individual channel.
- YouTube Premium: Start from YouTube’s Premium offer and follow the payment options shown for your account.
- Channel membership: Select Join on the channel only if you want its specific perks. Check the displayed price, renewal terms, and payment method; UPI is not established as an option for every channel membership.
The instructions below focus on paying for YouTube Premium through Google Play in India. Payment methods vary by country and billing platform, so the checkout on your account is decisive.
Pay for YouTube Premium with UPI
- Sign in to the right Google account. Use the account that should own the subscription. Confirm its country and payment profile are set to India; available methods depend on these details.
- Open the YouTube Premium offer. Choose a plan that is actually displayed for your account. There is no single price established here for every plan and billing context, so check the amount in checkout.
- Inspect the payment methods. If the purchase uses Google Play and offers UPI, choose Pay with UPI. Google’s published instructions are to select “Pay with UPI” in the cart and approve the purchase in a supported UPI app (Google India Blog, 15 November 2022).
- Approve the payment in your UPI app. Review the request and confirm it there. Do not approve a request whose amount or recipient does not match the checkout.
- Review any AutoPay mandate carefully. For a recurring subscription, the UPI flow may require a mandate. Check its amount, frequency, and duration before approving: future scheduled charges are not one-time payments. Google says the mandate can specify these terms, and the initial setup requires your approval (Google Play payment methods in India).
- Confirm the subscription in YouTube. Check Purchases and memberships or Paid memberships and review the active payment method and next billing date. YouTube’s membership help explains how to check membership details and notes that the billing platform affects available options (YouTube Premium billing help).
What to do if UPI is missing or a payment fails
- UPI is not listed: Check whether the subscription is being billed through Google Play or another platform, and verify the country and payment profile on the account. Use only a method actually presented at checkout; options can differ by platform.
- The mandate will not approve: Confirm that the UPI app and bank support the recurring mandate, then retry using the prompts shown by Google Play. Google Play requires an eligible UPI AutoPay mandate and a supported UPI app (Google Play payment methods in India).
- Recurring charges need verification: YouTube says India users may be asked to verify or re-enter payment details under RBI eMandate requirements. Follow the account’s verification prompts; a bank may not support recurring charges (YouTube payment verification help for India).
- A renewal stops working: Check the billing platform, the payment method on file, and whether your bank supports recurring charges. Update payment details using the options YouTube or Google Play actually offers for that subscription.
UPI itself is described by NPCI as available around the clock, but that does not guarantee a particular merchant checkout, bank, app, or recurring mandate will be available or succeed at every hour. The specific purchase still depends on those services (NPCI UPI FAQs).

If you meant a channel membership for a 24/7 stream
Open the channel and select Join only if you want the channel-specific perks. Before confirming, read the amount, monthly renewal terms, and payment methods shown in that membership’s checkout. YouTube says channel memberships renew automatically at the start of each monthly billing cycle; India recurring payments can require eMandate verification (YouTube channel memberships; YouTube payment verification help for India). Do not assume that UPI is available unless that checkout displays it.
