Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsPatch Dell CyberSense Manager only after confirming the supported target, compatibility, and documented upgrade path for your installation. Dell’s version table, last updated 21 September 2026, lists CyberSense 8.17.0.2 as latest and recommended and 8.13.0 as the minimum supported version; check Dell’s current support resources again before acting because that baseline can change. After the update, verify the reported version and the health of the workflows relevant to the issue—you cannot confirm a fix from installer success alone.
Choose a supported target before scheduling the update
Dell’s version matrix lists CyberSense 8.17.0.2 as the latest and recommended release, dated 1 July 2026, and 8.13.0 as the minimum supported release, dated 3 September 2025. The table was last updated 21 September 2026. These are a dated baseline, not a guarantee that either remains the right target when you patch. Check the current Dell CyberSense code versions and the product’s Drivers and Downloads page before selecting a package.

Dell describes recommended code as code found reliable against stability, security, and quality requirements; its criteria can vary by product. The minimum-supported version is the oldest code supported under applicable standard contracts. Being above that minimum does not necessarily mean you have the fix you need. Choose a supported release that addresses the actual defect or advisory and is compatible with your environment.
Use Dell E-Lab Navigator to check compatibility and interoperability, and review the target release notes for special upgrade-path considerations. Confirm the installed CyberSense version, deployment context, connected Cyber Recovery version, and the symptom or vulnerability you are addressing before settling on a target. Dell’s version guidance points administrators to these compatibility and release-note checks.

Prepare the maintenance window
- Record the starting state. Note the current CyberSense version, connected Cyber Recovery version, deployment context, the issue being addressed, and relevant recent errors. This creates a comparison point; the applicable release notes may specify additional required information.
- Check the path and dependencies. Read the release notes for prerequisites, supported upgrade path, known issues, interoperability, and any coordinated Cyber Recovery requirements. Establish whether the documented path is direct or requires an intermediate release.
- Get the package and instructions from Dell. Use the authorized CyberSense support and download page available to your organization. Some resources may require a corporate account.
- Schedule the work using the release-specific procedure. Use a maintenance window that accounts for the impact and service behavior described in the applicable Dell instructions. Confirm any required reboot, backup, rollback, or recovery steps there rather than assuming generic update practices apply.
Dell also provides a CyberSense upgrade demonstration. The available page establishes that the demonstration exists, but does not provide a transcript or a detailed installation sequence. Follow the authenticated instructions for your exact release or ask Dell Support if the path, prerequisites, or recovery plan are unclear.
Apply the patch using the CyberSense-specific procedure
The package-installation sequence is release- and environment-specific. Use the CyberSense release documentation or Dell Support for the exact commands, prerequisites, service behavior, reboot expectations, rollback guidance, and coordination with Cyber Recovery. Do not substitute instructions for PowerProtect Data Manager, Data Domain, DP Series, or Dell Update Packages: they are different products and do not establish a CyberSense Manager procedure.
