Connect Galaxy Buds to a Samsung phone
The setup route depends on the phone’s software and the Buds model. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 instructions for Galaxy Buds3 and Buds3 Pro use Galaxy Wearable; on Galaxy devices updated to One UI 8.0, Samsung documents Bluetooth Quick Pair instead.

Galaxy Wearable setup
- Place both earbuds in their charging case and open the lid.
- Open Galaxy Wearable. Tap Start if prompted, and grant any requested permissions.
- Choose the earbuds under Available devices.
- Tap Pair and follow the remaining setup prompts.
Samsung documents this flow for Galaxy Buds3 and Buds3 Pro with the Galaxy S25 and Z Fold6. Depending on the phone’s setup state, the screen may say Continue, Start, or Add. Bluetooth Quick Pair on One UI 8.0
Samsung’s Canada guidance for Galaxy devices updated to One UI 8.0 says nearby Galaxy Buds can appear in a Bluetooth Quick Pair pop-up. Follow the on-screen prompt to connect directly through Bluetooth; Galaxy Wearable is not required for that pairing step. If the pop-up does not appear, Samsung advises using the case’s connect button when your model has one. Do not assume every Buds case has the same button or pairing control. Connect Galaxy Buds to a tablet, PC, TV, or other device
For a TV, Windows PC, iPhone, watch, or other Bluetooth host, use that device’s Bluetooth settings when Galaxy Wearable is unavailable or not applicable. The host needs to support Bluetooth audio. Menu names and pairing-mode controls vary by device and Buds generation.
- Turn on Bluetooth in the target device’s settings.
- Put the earbuds into pairing mode using the instructions for your exact Buds model. Depending on the model, this may involve opening the case or using a case button or earbud control.
- On the target device, open its list of available Bluetooth devices and select your Galaxy Buds.
- Accept any pairing prompt shown on the target device.
Samsung describes Bluetooth pairing for devices without Galaxy Wearable, including TVs, smart watches, and iOS devices, in its Galaxy Buds2 guidance. Its instructions for connecting Galaxy Buds to other devices also cover computers and note that menus and connection capability depend on the device and software. Follow your specific Buds model’s pairing instructions rather than applying another generation’s button or touch-control steps.

Pairing is different from Auto switch
Pairing establishes a connection between the earbuds and a host. Auto switch is an additional convenience for moving the audio connection among supported Samsung devices; successfully pairing the Buds does not, by itself, enable it.

Samsung’s US Auto switch guidance lists compatible Galaxy Buds models including Galaxy Buds3, Buds3 Pro, Buds+, Buds2, Buds2 Pro, and Buds Pro. For phone and tablet use, the listed requirements include supported devices running One UI 3.1 or later and the same Samsung account. Samsung also lists Samsung TVs from 2022 onward. Eligibility depends on the Buds model, device class, software, and other feature requirements; consult the current Auto switch compatibility and requirements rather than assuming every Buds and device combination qualifies.

For the Galaxy S25 setup, Samsung gives the path Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > buds settings to enable Auto switch. Labels and locations can vary by model and software. If Auto switch is unavailable, Samsung says you can switch manually through Galaxy Wearable on supported setups or through the device’s Bluetooth or media controls.
Troubleshoot a Galaxy Buds connection
- No earbuds appear: Check that Bluetooth is on, the case and earbuds have charge, and the Buds are in pairing mode. Use the model-specific instructions for the correct pairing control.
- The earbuds are depleted: Samsung’s Buds2 guidance says to place the earbuds in the case and charge for at least 30 minutes or until the case LED is green. This charging instruction is specific to Buds2 guidance; check the instructions for other models.
- Only one earbud connects: Samsung recommends syncing the earbuds to each other. The exact sync procedure depends on the model; use its Samsung instructions.
- The Buds were paired before: Select them from the target device’s paired Bluetooth list, or disconnect them from the currently active device and retry. This does not imply that every model supports simultaneous active connections.

Compatibility is not a single universal list: Samsung’s Galaxy S25 page names Galaxy Buds3, Buds3 Pro, Buds FE, Buds2 Pro, Buds2, Buds Pro, Buds Live, Buds+, and Galaxy Buds as compatible with the S25 series. That S25-specific list does not establish that every model supports every feature or works identically with every Samsung phone.
