To pair a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard or mouse, first make the device discoverable, then select it in your computer’s Bluetooth settings. On most models with a Connect button, hold the button until the Bluetooth-status light blinks rapidly. On Easy-Switch models, select a channel and hold its button for three seconds. The computer’s operating system then completes the pairing.
The button names, light behavior and number of stored devices vary by model, so use the model-specific Logitech instructions whenever your hardware does not match these steps.

Before pairing: check the hardware
Pairing will work only when the keyboard or mouse is powered on, has usable batteries or charge, and is in discoverable mode. A computer cannot list a device that is merely switched on but not advertising itself over Bluetooth.
- Turn on the keyboard or mouse and keep it close to the computer during setup.
- Confirm that the computer has Bluetooth hardware and that Bluetooth is enabled.
- Look for a Connect button, a Bluetooth button, or numbered Easy-Switch channel buttons.
- Keep any USB receiver aside unless you deliberately plan to use the receiver connection instead of Bluetooth.
Bluetooth pairing and a Logitech USB receiver are separate connection methods. A receiver is not required for Bluetooth, and a receiver works only when both the product and that receiver are compatible.

Understand pairing mode before you start
Pairing mode is temporary discovery mode. It tells the keyboard or mouse to advertise its name so a nearby computer can find it. Simply switching the device on usually reconnects it to a saved host; it does not always make the device visible to a new computer.
Rapid LED blinking is Logitech’s usual signal that a product with a Connect button is ready to pair. Easy-Switch products use the same idea on a selected channel: a short press chooses a saved connection, while a three-second hold makes that channel discoverable for a new pairing. If your light pattern or controls differ, stop and check the exact model instructions rather than repeatedly pressing random buttons.
Put the Logitech device into pairing mode
Models with a Connect button
Most Logitech products with a Connect button also have a Bluetooth-status LED. Press and hold Connect until the LED blinks rapidly. Rapid blinking is Logitech’s usual indication that the keyboard or mouse is discoverable and ready for a computer to find it.

Some models use a differently labeled button or a separate Bluetooth control, and LED behavior is not identical across the range.
Easy-Switch models
Easy-Switch devices assign each computer or other host to a channel. Press the channel you want to use, then hold that channel button for three seconds. The channel’s LED should begin blinking quickly, indicating discovery mode.
A short press on an already configured channel selects that saved connection; it does not necessarily start new pairing. When pairing another computer, use the three-second hold on an unused channel or on the channel you intend to reconfigure. Channel count is model-specific. Logitech’s K380 example supports up to three connected devices, but that capacity should not be assumed for every keyboard or mouse.
Pair in Windows 11
- Turn on the Logitech keyboard or mouse and put it into pairing mode. For a Connect-button model, hold Connect until the LED blinks rapidly; for Easy-Switch, hold the selected channel for three seconds.
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Select Add device, choose Bluetooth, and select the Logitech device when it appears.
- Follow the on-screen pairing instructions. If Windows displays a code or typing prompt, complete it with the Logitech keyboard as directed.
After a successful connection, the device should appear in the Bluetooth device list. If the keyboard or mouse is listed but input does not work immediately, leave the computer connected to the internet and allow Windows time to obtain and enable the required drivers.
Pair in Windows 10
- Switch on the Logitech device and activate pairing mode.
- Open Settings > Devices > Bluetooth.
- Select the Logitech keyboard or mouse and choose Pair.
- Complete any prompt shown by Windows.
Logitech notes that driver download and activation can take up to five minutes, depending on the computer’s specifications and internet speed. Do not assume the pairing failed simply because the pointer or keyboard is not usable immediately after the Bluetooth entry is created.

Pair in Windows 8
- Put the Logitech device in discoverable mode.
- Open Apps > Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Select Add a device.
- Choose the Logitech keyboard or mouse and follow the prompts.

Pair with a Mac
- Turn on the device and start pairing mode.
- Open System Settings > Bluetooth.
- Find the Logitech keyboard or mouse in the device list and select Connect.
- Complete any instruction macOS presents, such as entering a keyboard code.
Logitech describes a successful connection on supported devices as an LED that stops blinking, glows steadily for about five seconds, and then turns off to conserve power. The light turning off after that sequence is normal and does not mean the connection ended.
Pair with a Chromebook running ChromeOS
- Put the Logitech device into pairing mode.
- Open the desktop status area and enable Bluetooth if it is off.
- Choose Manage devices > Add Bluetooth device.
- Select the Logitech keyboard or mouse and follow the ChromeOS prompts.
Keep the device in pairing mode until it appears in the picker. If it times out, restart discovery on the Logitech device and open the Add Bluetooth device screen again.

Pair with an iPhone or iPad
- Put the Logitech device into discovery mode.
- Open Settings > Bluetooth.
- Tap the Logitech keyboard or mouse under Other Devices.
- Complete any prompt. Once paired, the device moves to My Devices.
Connect the same Easy-Switch device to another computer
Easy-Switch is useful when one keyboard or mouse moves between computers without deleting its existing connections.
- Select the channel you want to dedicate to the new computer.
- Hold that channel button for three seconds, until its LED blinks quickly.
- On the new computer, open its Bluetooth settings and start Add device or the equivalent command.
- Select the Logitech device and finish the operating-system prompts.
- Afterward, use a short press on a configured channel to switch to that computer. The channel’s stored pairing remains available until you replace it.
The number of available channels depends on the model. The K380 support example allows up to three connected devices; other products may provide fewer or more controls.
A quick choice: Bluetooth or a USB receiver?
| Question | Bluetooth is suitable when… | A receiver may be suitable when… |
|---|---|---|
| Does the computer have Bluetooth? | The computer has compatible Bluetooth hardware and it is enabled. | Bluetooth is missing, disabled or unsuitable and the computer has a free USB port. |
| Does the Logitech product support the method? | The product documentation lists Bluetooth support. | The product and the specific receiver are documented as compatible. |
| Do you need several hosts? | The model offers the required Easy-Switch channels. | The receiver method supports the intended product arrangement. |
A receiver is not a fallback that works with every Logitech keyboard or mouse. Verify product and receiver compatibility before buying one. Do not insert a receiver and expect it to appear as a Bluetooth pairing option: it is a separate connection method.

If the Logitech device does not appear
Restart discovery at both ends
First verify that Bluetooth is enabled on the computer. Then exit the computer’s device picker, put the keyboard or mouse back into pairing mode, and reopen the picker. A Connect-button product normally needs the button held until rapid blinking resumes. On an Easy-Switch product, repeat the three-second hold on the selected channel.

Check that you are using the right channel
On an Easy-Switch device, a short press may select a previously paired computer without advertising the device for a new one. Hold the channel for three seconds when adding a computer. If the selected channel already belongs to another computer, pairing the new computer can replace that channel’s saved connection.
Confirm Bluetooth compatibility
Older computers may lack the Bluetooth hardware or Bluetooth Low Energy support required by the Logitech model. Logitech specifically states that Windows 7 computers cannot connect to Logitech devices that use Bluetooth Low Energy. Check the model’s compatibility documentation and the computer’s Bluetooth specification before treating a missing device as a button problem.
Compatibility is a combination of the operating system, the computer’s Bluetooth hardware and the specific Logitech model. A computer that pairs with one Logitech product is not automatically compatible with every product in the range. If the operating system is not listed in the model documentation, look up that model before changing settings or purchasing accessories.

Allow Windows to finish installing drivers
When Windows shows that pairing completed but keystrokes or pointer movement do not work, keep the computer online and wait. Logitech says driver download and enablement can take up to five minutes, depending on system specifications and internet speed. Avoid repeatedly deleting and re-adding the device during that interval.
If pairing succeeds but the keyboard or mouse disconnects or lags
- Confirm that the device still has sufficient battery or charge and remains within normal Bluetooth range.
- Check that the computer’s Bluetooth switch has not been disabled by a hardware key, settings change or sleep-resume event.
- For an Easy-Switch product, verify that a short press has not moved the device to a different saved channel.
- Restart pairing mode and reconnect through the computer’s Bluetooth settings if the connection was interrupted.
- Use the current Logitech troubleshooting route for the exact operating system and product when disconnections or lag continue; Logitech maintains separate guidance for failure to connect, unexpected disconnects and delayed input.
There is no single universal reset or interference remedy for every Logitech model. Model-specific instructions are more reliable than applying a procedure intended for a different keyboard or mouse.
How to verify that pairing is complete
- The computer’s Bluetooth settings show the Logitech device as connected or paired.
- A mouse pointer moves or a keyboard produces input after any required driver installation finishes.
- An Easy-Switch channel can be selected with a short press and returns to the paired computer.
- On supported Mac setups, the Bluetooth LED follows Logitech’s post-pairing pattern: steady for roughly five seconds, then off.
If the operating system lists the device but input still fails after the driver wait period, remove the stale Bluetooth entry only if your operating system offers that option, then repeat the model’s pairing procedure from discovery mode. If the device never appears, concentrate on Bluetooth compatibility and the model’s pairing control rather than on the receiver.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to check before contacting support
Have the exact keyboard or mouse model, the computer’s operating-system version, and the observed LED behavior ready. Note whether the device appears in Bluetooth settings, whether pairing completes, and whether the failure is limited to delayed input, a recurring disconnect or a total absence from the list. Those details determine whether the next step is a different pairing control, an operating-system compatibility check or model-specific troubleshooting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t my Logitech keyboard or mouse be found?
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the computer, then restart discovery on the Logitech device. Hold Connect until the LED blinks rapidly, or hold the selected Easy-Switch channel for three seconds. If it still does not appear, check the model’s Bluetooth and operating-system compatibility, especially on older computers.

Do I need a Logitech USB receiver to pair over Bluetooth?
No. Bluetooth and a Logitech USB receiver are separate connection methods. Bluetooth pairing needs a Bluetooth-capable Logitech product and compatible computer hardware. A receiver is optional and works only with supported product-and-receiver combinations.
How long do I hold an Easy-Switch button?
Hold the selected channel button for three seconds to enter discoverable mode. A short press selects a channel that was already paired; it does not necessarily start pairing with a new computer.
Can one Logitech keyboard or mouse connect to more than one computer?
Only if the model provides multiple Easy-Switch channels. Logitech’s K380 example supports up to three connected devices, but channel capacity is model-specific. Pair each computer on its own channel, then use a short press to switch between saved connections.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWindows says pairing succeeded, but the keyboard or mouse does nothing. What should I do?
Keep Windows connected to the internet and wait for drivers to download and enable. Logitech says this can take up to five minutes depending on the computer and internet speed. If input still fails afterward, use the model-specific troubleshooting steps.
Does Windows 7 support Logitech Bluetooth Low Energy devices?
Logitech states that Windows 7 computers cannot connect to Logitech devices that use Bluetooth Low Energy. Check the product’s compatibility documentation and the computer’s Bluetooth hardware before attempting repeated pairing.
Why did my Mac’s Logitech LED turn off after pairing?
On supported devices, Logitech describes the LED stopping its blink, glowing steadily for about five seconds, and then turning off to save power. That light turning off is a normal post-pairing behavior.
What happens when I pair a new computer on an Easy-Switch channel already in use?
The new pairing can replace the saved connection on that channel. Select an unused channel when possible. After pairing, a short press on a configured channel returns the device to that channel’s computer.
