To move data from an old phone to a new Vivo, use Vivo EasyShare’s Phone Clone: open EasyShare on both phones, pair them by scanning a QR code, select what to copy, and let the transfer finish. Some apps may need manual installation, and app sign-ins or private data are not guaranteed to transfer. Before you start, check the new phone for data you want to keep: Vivo warns that Phone Clone overwrites data for apps already on the destination phone.
Choose the transfer method that fits your phones

These are separate routes. EasyShare does not require the USB cable used by Google’s wired setup option. Google also offers Wi-Fi transfer.

Prepare before you copy anything
- Keep the old phone nearby and unlocked. For Google’s Android setup transfer, charge both phones, connect to Wi-Fi or mobile internet, and check that the new phone has enough free storage.
- Review the new Vivo for files and app data you want to retain. Make a backup first if needed; Vivo’s manual warns that same-app data on the new phone will be overwritten by Phone Clone.
- Allow enough time for the transfer. Google says its Android setup copy can take from a few minutes to a few hours depending on how much data is being moved.
- If you are moving from an iPhone with EasyShare, install EasyShare on the iPhone first. Vivo’s manual says to select iPhone as the old-phone type; available categories may differ by model and software version.
Move data with Vivo EasyShare Phone Clone
- Open EasyShare on both phones. If it is not available on a device, use Vivo’s official EasyShare page for information about the tool; availability can vary by device and region.
- On the old phone, choose Old phone. On the new Vivo, choose New phone and select the old phone’s type when prompted.
- Use the new Vivo to scan the QR code shown on the old phone to pair the devices.
- On the old phone, select the items to transfer and start cloning.
- Keep the phones connected until EasyShare reports completion. Do not disconnect them partway through.
Vivo describes Phone Clone as a local transfer that does not consume mobile data. Its EasyShare site advertises speeds of up to 40 MB/s; that is Vivo’s stated maximum, not a guaranteed or independently measured speed for a particular transfer.

A copied app package is not the same as a complete app migration. Vivo support says permission limitations can prevent transferred apps from installing automatically. If an app is missing, check Files > Apps on the Vivo and install it manually if it appears there.

Then open each app and sign in again where needed. For protected or account-linked information, follow that app’s own backup, restore, or account-recovery process. EasyShare’s ability to move an app does not establish that its private data, credentials, or logged-in state moved with it.
Use Google’s Android-to-Android transfer during setup
If both phones run Android and the Vivo is still in initial setup, Google’s built-in “Copy apps & data” flow is another option. Follow the prompts on the new phone and choose a cable or Wi-Fi. For a wired transfer, the cable must fit both phones; an adapter may be needed. A cable is not required if you choose Wi-Fi.
What Google says may copy
- Apps and certain app data
- Music, photos, and videos
- Contacts stored on the phone or SIM
- Text messages, multimedia in messages, and call history
- Most phone settings and wallpaper
What may not copy in this setup flow
- Downloads such as PDFs and media in hidden folders
- Apps installed outside Google Play
- Data from apps that do not use Android backup
- Non-Google accounts and their data
- Contacts and calendars synced with other services
- Ringtones and some settings
Google says its cable and Wi-Fi methods support the same data, but the choices shown can vary by phone and Android version. Google recommends doing the transfer during setup and says this setup option can be used only once; some devices may offer another transfer route later. Restore a Google Account backup if the old phone is gone
During Android setup on the Vivo, sign in to the same Google Account used for the backup and choose the available backup to restore. Google says Android backups can include apps and app data, call history, contacts, device settings, and SMS/MMS messages. Some Google apps back up additional content—for example, Google Messages can back up RCS messages, while Google Photos can back up photos and videos.
Restoration is not guaranteed to reproduce everything. Google notes that app developers determine what their apps back up and restore, and behavior varies by device and Android version. A backup made on a higher Android version cannot be restored to a phone running an older Android version. For more details, see Google’s Android backup and restore guidance.

An app is missing or will not install
Check Files > Apps on the Vivo for an app that transferred but did not install. If it is not there or does not work, install the app through its supported source and sign in. Its data may require the app’s own recovery method.

The new Vivo already had data in an app
Phone Clone does not promise to merge app data. Vivo’s manual says data for the same apps on the new phone will be overwritten after the transfer. If that data matters, back it up before cloning.
Google’s copy option is unavailable or missing items
Google’s transfer is intended for Android-to-Android setup, and the available items depend on the phones and Android versions. Check the excluded categories above; for missing downloads or unsupported app data, use the old app’s own export or backup option if available.
The old phone is not available
A Google Account backup can restore only data that was backed up and that the app and destination device support. Sign in during setup to see which backup is available.
