A “75-inch” label tells you the screen’s diagonal, not its mounting-hole pattern, weight, or screw requirements. Start with the exact TV model number, then check its manual or manufacturer support page for its VESA pattern, weight without the stand, and required screw diameter and depth. Those details—not screen size alone—determine what mount will fit.
Find your TV’s exact mounting specifications
Look for the model number on the TV’s label or in its settings, then use that number to find the manufacturer’s manual or support page. Record the following before shopping:

- VESA pattern: the horizontal-by-vertical spacing between the mounting holes, in millimeters.
- Weight without the stand: compare this with the wall mount’s stated TV load capacity.
- Screw diameter and depth: the required screw must engage correctly without extending too far into the TV.
- Special instructions: check for model-specific mounting restrictions or hardware requirements.
There is no universal VESA pattern or screw specification for a 75-inch TV. For example, Roku’s chart lists several 75-inch models at 400 × 300 mm, while its Pro Series examples use 400 × 400 mm. It also gives different weights and screws: the chart entry “75R4A5R / 65R4AX” lists 50 lb, 400 × 300 mm, and M6 × 16 mm; 75R8B5 / 75R8BX lists 83 lb, 400 × 400 mm, and M6 × 14 mm; and 75R8CX lists 82 lb, 400 × 400 mm, and M6 × 14 mm. Because Roku’s first chart entry combines model labels, confirm your exact model rather than relying on a partial match. These figures apply to the listed Roku models, not other brands. Roku’s mounting guide and model chart directs owners of other brands to their TV manufacturer.
Match the TV, mount and wall
Check the mount’s specifications against the TV and the actual installation location. Screen-size range, supported VESA patterns, load capacity, and permitted wall-installation method are separate requirements; meeting one does not establish the others.

- VESA fit: the mount must support the TV’s exact hole spacing.
- Load: the mount’s stated capacity must cover the TV’s weight without its stand, subject to the mount’s instructions.
- Wall fit: the mount’s instructions must allow your wall construction and the available attachment points or stud spacing.
- Movement and clearance: choose the movement the room needs and check extension, side clearance, cable access, and space behind furniture.
- Certification: Roku recommends considering mounts certified by an independent laboratory such as UL, CSA/CS, or ETL. Check for the actual certification mark and listing for the specific product rather than relying on a generic claim.
As one example of a vendor-published specification—not a universal recommendation—VIVO lists its PRO-TVHA90 for 75–90-inch screens, a VESA range of 200 × 200 mm to 800 × 600 mm, and a capacity of 132–198 lb. The mount still has to match your particular TV and wall. VIVO’s product page provides those specifications.
Choose fixed, tilting or full-motion movement
Pick movement based on where people sit, possible glare, access needs, and the room’s clearances. No one style is best for every room.

Confirm the exact adjustment range and installation clearances in the mount’s specifications and manual.
Use the TV’s specified screws and the mount’s wall instructions
Do not treat a screw assortment or universal kit as a guarantee of fit. TV screw diameter and depth are model-specific; a screw that is unsuitable or too long can damage the TV or compromise its attachment. Follow both the TV’s and mount’s instructions. Roku advises checking screw size and depth, and Sony warns against substitute screws for the specific models covered by its support page. Samsung discusses replacement screws, but also directs users to model information. Check the exact documentation before buying replacements.

The wall attachment is also mount-specific. Follow the mount maker’s directions for the wall material, structural support, fasteners, and installation method; do not assume drywall alone can carry the load. Do not transfer requirements from one mount to another: for example, the SS-75 manual says that model must not be mounted on drywall or plywood alone and requires wall structure able to support at least five times that product’s maximum load capacity. That is an SS-75 instruction, not a universal rule. The SS-75 manual gives its product-specific requirements.
Likewise, Sony’s guidance for the models covered by its page says wall strength should support four times the TV’s weight, or six times for some models. It is not a universal wall-strength standard. Sony recommends professional installation for the specified models. Sony’s support page identifies the models and guidance it covers.

Plan screen height and room layout
Choose height for the people and furniture in the room, not by screen size alone. Samsung gives an approximate reference of 42 inches from the floor to the TV’s center for a 5-foot-6-inch viewer seated on a standard couch. It also suggests about 4–6 inches above furniture where appropriate. These are examples, not fixed requirements. Measure seated eye level, consider how the screen will be viewed, and leave the clearances needed for furniture, cables, and any mount movement. Before starting, gather the TV and mount instructions, a compatible mount and its specified hardware, a level, and the tools the instructions call for. Samsung lists a stud finder, carpenter’s level, screwdriver, and drill among the tools for its described installation; you may already have what you need.

- Check the plan: confirm the TV model’s VESA pattern, weight and screw requirements against the mount, and check that the mount’s instructions permit your wall and attachment points.
- Choose the location: account for seated viewing height, furniture, glare, cable access, and the mount’s movement and clearance requirements.
- Locate and mark attachment points: use the method and tools specified by the mount maker. Verify the positions before drilling or fastening.
- Install the wall plate and TV brackets: use only the wall fasteners and TV screws specified for the relevant materials and model, following each manual.
- Lift and secure the TV: use a second person to position the screen and attach it as the mount instructions describe. Check the attachment and adjust the mount only as directed.
Roku advises using two people to wall-mount a TV or contacting a professional mounting service. If you cannot establish that the wall, attachment points, or installation procedure are suitable—or you need help lifting the screen—stop and consult the mount or TV manufacturer or a qualified installer. Roku’s installation tips also emphasize confirming that the wall is appropriate and can support the TV’s weight.
