To monitor one value—such as a product price or availability status—in Hexowatch, use its HTML element monitor: enter the page URL, preview the page, select the element, set any needed page interactions, and choose a checking schedule and notifications. The steps below explain how to configure it and what to try if the target does not load or select correctly.
Set up a Hexowatch HTML element monitor
- Open the HTML element monitor and enter the page URL. In Hexowatch, choose the HTML element monitoring option, enter the URL containing the field you want to track, and select the preview action. Hexowatch’s advanced walkthrough demonstrates selecting a price on a pricing page.
- Wait for the preview, then select the target. When the page has loaded, click the element you want to watch. The walkthrough describes right-clicking the selected element to open its actions area. Choose the smallest useful field—for example, the displayed price rather than the entire product page—to keep unrelated page changes from becoming the focus.
- Add page actions if the target is not immediately visible. Configure any required interactions before selecting the target. Hexowatch’s walkthrough lists clicking, entering text into form fields, waiting for a page to load, blocking an on-page pop-up or other element, refreshing, and setting cookie values manually. These actions can help reach a field behind navigation, a form, a pop-up, or a password-protected page; they do not establish that every protected site will work.
- Choose the check frequency and notification preferences. Set how often Hexowatch should check and select the notification options available in your account. You can also set custom start and end dates. The walkthrough does not establish a complete current list of channels or plan limits, so check the live dashboard and plan details for those specifics.
- Start monitoring and review the alerts. Start the monitor and check its notifications when a change is detected. Hexowatch says detected changes can be archived as snapshots; the cited product material does not establish a particular retention period.
Choose a monitor for the signal you need
Use the narrowest monitor type that captures the change you care about. Hexowatch describes these options by the kind of signal tracked:

These distinctions are described in Hexowatch’s advanced monitoring guide and monitoring overview. If the field only appears after a user-like action, account for that interaction during setup; a broader content or visual monitor may not isolate the same signal.

What to try if the selected element does not work
- The target is missing from the preview: Add the action needed to reach it, such as clicking through navigation, filling a form, or waiting for the page to finish loading. Then preview again and select the field.
- A pop-up covers the target: Try the walkthrough’s option to block an on-page element, or configure the relevant interaction before selecting the field.
- The page is protected or requires sign-in: Hexowatch’s walkthrough demonstrates user-like actions and names password-protected pages as a use case, but that is not a guarantee of compatibility with every login, membership system, or access policy. Confirm that you are authorized to monitor the page and consult the current Hexowatch guidance if the setup fails.
- The page renders incorrectly or uses a JavaScript framework: Hexowatch’s FAQ lists questions about JavaScript-rendered websites and rendering problems, but the accessible FAQ material does not provide answers establishing blanket compatibility or a universal fix. Test the actual target page and contact Hexowatch support if the preview remains incorrect.
- The site blocks monitoring traffic: Access controls may interfere. Hexowatch’s tutorial index includes instructions on whitelisting its user agent in Cloudflare; for other controls, ask the site administrator about an appropriate allowlist rather than assuming one fix applies everywhere.
