1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsYou can put two iPhone screenshots together in a single layout with Shortcuts, or stitch overlapping captures into one continuous long image with a dedicated app such as Picsew. Choose based on the result you want: combining two full images does not automatically remove repeated content, while stitching is designed to join overlapping views of a scrolling page or conversation.
Choose the kind of merge you need
| What you want | Use | What happens to the screenshots |
|---|---|---|
| Two complete screenshots side by side or one above the other | Shortcuts image-combining workflow | The images are arranged together; the result is a layout, not a seamless scrolling capture. |
| One continuous image from overlapping captures of a page, chat, or receipt | A stitching app such as Picsew | The app is intended to detect overlap and join the screenshots into a longer image. |
If you are not sure which you need, look for repeated content along the edge of the screenshots. If each screenshot shows a different panel, chart, or photo that should remain fully visible, use a layout. If the screenshots show adjacent parts of the same scrolling content, use stitching.

Make a side-by-side or vertical layout with Shortcuts
Shortcuts is Apple’s automation app. Apple documents how actions can pass selected photos to later actions, which supports this general workflow. The Apple guides consulted for this topic do not spell out a precise, current setup for the image-combining action, so action names and controls can differ with iOS versions. Treat these steps as a practical recipe and verify the options shown on your iPhone.
- Open Shortcuts. Create a shortcut with the plus button, then use the action search to find an action for selecting photos. Add it and configure it to select two images if that control is available. When the shortcut runs, choose the two screenshots from Photos.
- Add the image-combining action. Search for “Combine Images” or the closest image-combination action offered on your iOS version. Set its input to the selected photos. Choose a horizontal direction for a side-by-side result or a vertical direction for one screenshot above the other, if those controls are offered.
- Add an action to save the result. Search for an action such as “Save to Photo Album” and connect the combined image to it. This saves the output to Photos rather than leaving it only in the shortcut’s result.
- Name and run the shortcut. Give it a descriptive name such as “Combine Screenshots.” Run it, select the two screenshots in the order you want, and check Photos for the saved image.
For a one-time task, you can build and run the shortcut once. If you expect to do this repeatedly, save it and run it again whenever you need a new layout. If your version of Shortcuts presents different action names or no combine control, do not assume Markup or Photos has a hidden merge command: the Apple screenshot and Markup instructions cover cropping, annotation, sharing, and saving, not a direct merge of separate screenshots. Use the app’s available image actions or a dedicated image editor instead.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Check the layout before sharing
- Confirm the screenshots appear in the intended order. A reversed selection can make a conversation or sequence of steps hard to follow.
- Inspect the join between images. A simple layout may leave empty space or unequal edges if the screenshots have different dimensions.
- Make sure text is still legible at the size you plan to share. Combining two full screenshots into one image can make each portion smaller when viewed on a phone.
- Open the saved file from Photos before deleting or replacing the originals.
Stitch overlapping screenshots into one long image
For screenshots taken at different positions in the same scrolling content, Picsew is a dedicated option. Picsew’s official site and App Store listing describe stitching screenshots, including detecting overlap and working with screenshots from the photo library. It is a separate app, and its current availability, features, interface, and price can change.
- Capture overlapping sections. Take screenshots as you scroll through the page, chat, receipt, or other content. Leave some content visible in both neighboring captures so the app has overlap to match.
- Open Picsew and select the captures. Choose the screenshots from your photo library in their original sequence. The app’s controls may vary by version.
- Review the proposed stitch. Check that the content runs in the right order and that repeated areas have not been duplicated or joined at the wrong point. Correct or reorder captures if the app provides those controls.
- Inspect and export. Look closely at text, edges, and the transitions between sections, then save or share the stitched image using the available export controls.
Overlap helps an automatic stitcher identify where one capture continues into the next. If two screenshots have no common content, they may still be arranged as separate panels, but they do not give an overlap-based stitcher a shared area to match. If there is too much repeated content, inspect the seam for duplicated lines or paragraphs.

When a stitch is not clean
- A seam cuts through text or images: retake the screenshots with a larger shared area, if you can, and try the sequence again.
- A section appears twice: inspect the overlap and the screenshot order. The repeated area may be part of both captures, or the images may have been selected in the wrong sequence.
- The result includes an unwanted screen edge or bar: crop the exported result if the app offers that option, or prepare the individual captures before stitching.
- The content shifts, animates, or changes between captures: capture the sequence again when the content is stable. Differences between frames can make a continuous-looking join difficult.
Picsew is a software route, not a physical accessory recommendation. Check its listing for current device compatibility and any price before installing or purchasing it.
What Apple’s built-in screenshot tools can and cannot do
Apple’s screenshot flow lets you capture, crop, annotate, share, and save a screenshot. Markup can add drawings, text, and shapes to screenshots and photos. Those tools are useful for trimming an image or adding notes, but the cited Apple instructions do not describe combining two separate screenshots in Photos. For an actual merge, use an image-combining workflow or a stitching app.

Markup is appropriate when you want to point something out on one image or crop away irrelevant edges. It is not the step that joins two screenshots. Keep the original captures until you have checked the edited or combined output.

If your actual goal is to capture a clean screenshot of a webpage—not combine screenshots already on your iPhone—ScreenshotNeo can take the webpage capture with one request. It is a website screenshot API and MCP server, not an iPhone photo-merging app, so it does not stitch or arrange existing screenshots.

One cURL request can save a webpage capture as an image. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for setup and options:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
In this example, replace the URL with the webpage you want to capture and provide your API key. The same request can be made in Python or Node.js:

Troubleshooting the result
The shortcut does not show the action I expected
Action names and available controls may vary by iOS version. Search Shortcuts for image-related actions and inspect the controls offered on your device. Apple’s general Shortcuts documentation establishes that actions pass data along a workflow, but it does not verify an exact current combine-image recipe. If you cannot find a suitable action, use a dedicated image editor or stitching app rather than assuming that screenshot capture or Markup includes a merge feature.
The screenshots are combined in the wrong order
For a layout, select the photos in the intended order and check the output before sharing. For a stitch, arrange the captures in the order the content was read or scrolled. Reordering cannot repair captures that show unrelated or non-adjacent material.
The output is hard to read
Combining full-screen images creates a larger canvas, but it does not enlarge the text inside each screenshot. View the exported file at its intended display size. If details are too small, share the screenshots separately or crop to the relevant section instead of shrinking all the content into one image.
