To change LinkedIn notification settings, open Settings & Privacy > Notifications, choose a category under Notifications you receive, and adjust the alert type you want to control. On a phone, check both LinkedIn’s notification preference and the device’s permission for push alerts: they are separate controls.
Change LinkedIn notification settings on desktop
- Select Me or your profile picture on LinkedIn.
- Select Settings & Privacy.
- Choose Notifications in the left rail.
- Under Notifications you receive, open a category and change the setting for the notification type you want to manage.
LinkedIn says connection-notification changes save automatically. For an alert you have received, you can also open the Notifications tab, select the More icon beside the alert, choose Change notification preferences, and adjust the relevant option. Available controls depend on the notification type. To re-enable an alert you previously disabled, use Manage notifications and turn its category toggle back on. Change settings in the LinkedIn mobile app or mobile browser
LinkedIn mobile app
- Tap your profile photo.
- Tap Settings & Privacy; some versions of LinkedIn label this Settings.
- Tap Notifications.
- Under Notifications you receive, open a category and adjust the notification type you want to change.
To adjust an individual alert, open the Notifications tab and use its More menu to change preferences. Swiping left to delete an alert only removes that item; it does not change the setting for that type of notification. LinkedIn Help: Manage your LinkedIn notifications.
Mobile browser
- Tap your profile photo.
- Open the Settings icon and choose Notifications.
- Select a category and toggle the notification type you want to control.
Mobile-browser labels can vary. If these steps do not match your screen, look for Settings & Privacy and then Notifications. LinkedIn Help: Manage your LinkedIn notifications.

Choose what to change: alert type, delivery method, or device permission
LinkedIn organizes preferences by category and notification type. Examples include activity involving you, network activity, invitations and messages, jobs, news, and events. Depending on the alert, you may be able to control in-product notifications, mobile push, or email. Email preferences can also include delivery frequency. LinkedIn Help: Manage your notification settings.
- One alert type: Open its category in LinkedIn settings and change that type’s option.
- A delivery method: Change the applicable in-app, push, or email preference for the alert. The available choices vary by notification.
- Push alerts on your phone: Check the operating system’s permission as well as LinkedIn’s preference. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings > Notifications > LinkedIn and check Allow Notifications. On Android, open the device’s notification settings, select LinkedIn, and check its notification control. Menu names vary by operating-system version.
LinkedIn identifies Apple Push Notification service for iOS and Google messaging services for Android. Turning off a type in LinkedIn can remove existing alerts of that type from the Notifications tab and stop new ones; turning it back on can make previous alerts reappear. Turning off push permission at the phone level alone does not turn off updates in LinkedIn’s Notifications tab. Notification preferences do not change the content in your feed. What to do if LinkedIn notifications are not arriving
LinkedIn recommends resetting settings in two categories, then checking the related delivery-method preferences:

- Go to Settings & Privacy > Notifications.
- Open Connecting with others > Updates from your network. If the setting is on, switch it off and back on. If it is off, switch it on and back off.
- Repeat the same reset for Posting and commenting > Comments and reactions.
- Check the delivery-method settings for those alerts. LinkedIn says push notifications may not work correctly unless In-app notifications are also on.
LinkedIn says new notifications should begin appearing within 48–72 hours after this reset. If the problem continues, follow its guidance for troubleshooting common LinkedIn mobile app issues. LinkedIn Help: Troubleshoot LinkedIn notifications.
