Google Skills gives you separate controls for sharing your profile, a learning path, an individual badge, and purchased credits. Profiles are private by default; making yours public enables profile and achievement sharing. Credit groups work differently: members draw from one pooled balance, with no per-person cap documented by Google.
Choose what you want to share
| What you share | Where to start | Audience or access |
|---|---|---|
| Profile and earned achievements | Settings > Account > Public visibility | A generated profile link; public profile details include your first and last name, account-creation year, earned badges, and associated Google Account profile photo. Google Skills Help: profile visibility |
| Learning path | Open the path and select the Share icon | A social network you select; the profile must be public according to Google’s sharing instructions. Google Skills Help: sharing paths |
| Individual badge | Dashboard > Progress > Badges | A social network you select; the profile must be public according to Google’s sharing instructions. Google Skills Help: profile and badge sharing |
| Purchased credits | Credits & Subscriptions > Share Your Credits with Friends | Members added by email address or email domain can draw from the group’s allocated pool. Google Skills Help: sharing credits |
Make your profile public or private
- In Google Skills, select your profile image, open Settings, and go to Account > Public visibility.
- Select Make profile public. Google says your profile is private by default and that turning on public visibility generates a shareable profile link.
- To stop sharing, return to the same setting and uncheck the public-visibility option. While sharing is enabled, Google says you can recover the link from your profile page.
Review the information made visible before switching the setting on: your first and last name, account-creation year, earned badges, and Google Account profile photo if one is associated. This setting concerns your Google Skills profile; it does not establish or change the visibility of other information in your Google Account. Google documents the workflow and its reversibility on its profile visibility help page.

Share a learning path
- Make your profile public using the steps above.
- Open the learning path you want to share and select the Share icon in the top navigation.
- Choose a social network. Edit the pre-populated message if you want, then select Save and Share.
Google’s instructions require a public profile for this workflow. This shares a path through a selected social network; it is distinct from sharing your whole profile using its generated link. See Google’s path-sharing instructions.
Share one badge
- Sign in and make your profile public.
- Open Dashboard, then Progress > Badges, and find the badge.
- Select the badge’s share icon, choose a social network, edit the suggested message if desired, and select Save and Share.
- Repeat for each social network where you want to share that badge.
This shares an individual achievement, rather than a learning path or the profile link. Google’s help instructions specify the public-profile prerequisite for badge sharing: Google Skills Help.

- Open Credits & Subscriptions from the avatar or credits control, then select Share Your Credits with Friends.
- Create a group, enter a name and description, and allocate credits that you purchased.
- Add members using individual email addresses or an email domain. The setup also describes a Blocklist Emails field.
- To manage access later, open the group and edit its email filters. To review activity, open the group’s report or download it as a CSV.
Google’s credit-sharing instructions distinguish purchased credits from credits received through another person’s group: received credits cannot be used to create a new group.

Members share one balance
Everyone in a group draws from the same allocated balance. Google warns that a single member could use all the group’s credits, and its documentation does not describe a per-member cap within one group. If each person needs a separate allocation, create a separate group for each person.

Who gets notified
Adding individual email addresses triggers an automatic notification. Adding an email domain does not, so notify domain members yourself.

Advantage subscription restriction
