Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesMake medication directions easier to follow by putting the exact dose and timing in a clear written schedule, using plain language, and fitting reminders to the person’s daily routine. Keep one up-to-date medication list, and ask a pharmacist or prescriber before changing a dose, schedule, or tablet form.
Start by finding what makes the directions difficult
Ask the older adult which part is getting in the way: remembering dose times, reading small print, opening a container, swallowing a tablet, or understanding a phrase such as “as needed.” The answer helps the care team choose a practical change without risking a medication error.

At an appointment or pharmacy visit, use direct questions like those recommended by the FDA’s guide to medicines as you age:
- What is the proper dose?
- How and when should I take this medicine, and for how long?
- What should I do if I miss or forget a dose?
- Does it need to be taken with food or drink?
- What side effects should I watch for, and whom should I contact with questions?
Ask the prescriber or pharmacist to write down the answers. If several daily dose times are hard to manage, ask whether the schedule can be simplified. Do not change the timing or amount yourself.

Turn the directions into a complete written schedule
A useful schedule says exactly what to take and when, rather than relying on memory or vague shorthand. It should preserve all important directions, including how much to take, how to take it, duration, food or drink instructions, missed-dose advice, side effects to monitor, and whom to call.
Read through the schedule together. Then invite the person taking the medicine to explain in their own words how they will follow it. This helps reveal unclear wording or a missed detail while there is still time to check with the care team.

Make each instruction easy to process
Use familiar, concrete words and put the action first. For example, replace unexplained abbreviations with the full direction written by the clinician or pharmacist. Keep key directions prominent and repeat essential information verbally as well as in writing.

Some older adults may find health information harder to take in because of changes in memory, attention, processing speed, vision, or hearing. The CDC’s guidance on health literacy challenges affecting older adults recommends plain language, repetition, and emphasis on the actions a person needs to take. Clear wording should never mean leaving out a safety instruction.

- Spring Assisted Open Design. We use the latest design on this weekly pill organizer to achieve one-handed operation with the little rubber strips for the smart "lid spring open" feature. The lids are all beautifully colored and marked clearly with the date, everything is clear at a glance so you may find it easy to choose the pills you need. It's quite nice for easy daily dispensing and big enough to hold 8 fish oils or 12 large vitamins for each dose (size of each compartment: 1.3"x1.18"x0.82")
- Say Goodbye to Dumpage Pills. No worries about unwanted dumpage of pills found by pets and kids for your slightest unintentional or incidental touch on the medicine organizer. The push button stays closed once locked and securely snap shut keeping pills safe. It's small and perfectly suitable for travel and is ideal for storing small jewelry or items such as earrings, beads, nail art tips, ect.
- Premium Screen Printing. To avoid screen-printing fonts and icons falling off from the surface of the pill box, we use high-end screen printing ink and strictly do the Ink Adhesion Test with 3M Tapes before shipment. Thus, no need to be frustrated with the missing fonts of "Tuesday" or icons of "PM", and worry about mistakenly taking the wrong tablets.
- BPA-Free Material. This pill case is pretty safe because of being made of food grade materials. You would be worry-free with the BPA-free pill boxes and organizer when storing multiple pill regimes inside. With the transparent plastic lid, it's quite easy to distinguish the pills in each dose without opening the lids.
- What You Receive: 1 x AUVON iMedassist Pill Holder, our 12-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Ask for a more readable format
If small print is a problem, ask the pharmacy or care team whether written medication information is available in large type. Ask about another language if that would make the directions easier to understand. Availability depends on what the pharmacy or care team can provide.
Keep one current medication list
Maintain a single list that is easy for the person to read, update, and share. Include prescriptions and nonprescription medicines, as well as vitamins and supplements. For each item, record its name, strength, purpose, and directions.

- AM/PM COMPARTMENTS: Plan doses for morning and evening with separate AM/PM compartments
- LARGE CAPACITY: Each compartment can hold 12 aspirin sized tablets
- CONTOURED BOTTOMS: Planner compartments have contoured bottoms so retrieving your medication out of the planner is simple
- CLEAR LIDS: Clear planner lids keep your medication visable to help prevent missed doses

Update the record whenever a medicine or dose changes. Bring or share it with health professionals, and make it accessible to a trusted caregiver when appropriate. The FDA’s medication-list guidance explains what to include and why keeping the list current matters.
Choose reminders that fit the person’s routine
Connect reminders to an existing daily habit when the prescribed timing allows—for example, a written check-off at a regular time of day. A paper chart, calendar, or pill organizer may help, but the person must be able to read, fill, and use it reliably.

If considering an organizer, ask a pharmacist which medicines can safely go in it and which design matches the prescription. MedlinePlus advises considering how many days it holds and how many compartments it has for each day; organizers vary, and not every medicine is suitable for one. Also consider whether the person can see the compartments and open them. See MedlinePlus guidance on keeping medicines organized.
Make containers and tablets safer to manage
If a container is difficult to open, ask the pharmacist whether an easier-to-open option is available. Consider child-safety needs in the home before changing container types.
Do not break, crush, or chew a tablet unless a health professional confirms that it is safe for that specific medicine. If swallowing is difficult, ask the prescriber or pharmacist about safe alternatives rather than altering the tablet yourself. The FDA’s older-adult medication guide advises checking before changing how a tablet is taken.
Revisit the plan whenever a medicine changes
After a new medicine, dose adjustment, or other change, update the written schedule and medication list, then review the instructions together. Tell the prescriber or pharmacist if memory, vision, hearing, dexterity, or the number of dose times is making the plan hard to follow. They can discuss appropriate supports or whether the regimen can be simplified; the patient should not make medication changes alone.
