To enlarge text in Google Sheets, select the cell or range, then choose a larger value from the toolbar’s font-size control. To remove strikethrough, select the affected cell or text and toggle off the strikethrough control. If the sheet only looks small on your screen, change zoom instead: zoom affects the view, not the cell’s formatting.
Make cell text bigger
- Select the cell or range whose text you want to change.
- In the toolbar at the top, open the font-size control.
- Choose a larger size. The selected cell content will use that font size.
Google’s computer editing guide describes using toolbar options to format text or numbers in a cell.

Change only part of a cell’s text
- Double-click the cell to edit its contents.
- Select the specific text you want to change.
- Choose a larger font size from the toolbar.
The same method works for formatting only part of the cell’s contents, rather than the whole cell.

Remove strikethrough
For a whole cell or range
- Select the affected cell or range.
- Click the strikethrough control in the toolbar to toggle the formatting off.
For only some text in a cell
- Double-click the cell.
- Select the text with strikethrough.
- Click the toolbar’s strikethrough control.
Use a keyboard shortcut
Google lists these shortcuts for strikethrough in Sheets on a computer:

- Mac: Command + Shift + X, Command + 5, or Control + 5
Shortcuts can vary with keyboard or language settings. If one does not work, use the toolbar control. See Google’s keyboard shortcut reference.
Use zoom if the entire sheet looks too small
Open the zoom menu in the toolbar, located under 100%, and choose a setting from 50 to 200. This changes how large the sheet appears on screen; it does not change the font formatting in cells. Google explains the spreadsheet view options in its zoom and document view guide.
