To make on-screen content appear smaller on a supported Samsung Galaxy tablet, open Settings > Display > Screen zoom and move the slider toward the minus side. This changes how content is presented; it does not change the tablet’s physical display dimensions. Samsung Support describes the control this way: “To make text and images bigger or smaller, you can adjust the screen zoom on your device.” Samsung’s display troubleshooting guide provides the steps.
Reduce the apparent size of screen content
- Open Settings.
- Tap Display.
- Tap Screen zoom.
- Move the slider toward minus to make text and images appear smaller. Move it toward plus to make them appear larger.
The change affects the interface’s presentation, not the panel’s physical size. Menu names and available options can vary by tablet model and software version. Samsung notes that display settings may differ across devices in its Galaxy phone and tablet display settings guide.

Choose the control that matches what you want to change

Samsung’s Galaxy tablet multitasking guide explains split-screen and pop-up window resizing. Those controls change app-window space, not the general Screen zoom setting. For DeX, use the relevant external-display troubleshooting guidance or Samsung’s DeX screen guide; DeX adjustments are specific to that interface rather than a replacement for the tablet’s standard Display controls.

Search Settings for “Screen zoom.” If it does not appear, consult the manual for your exact model or Samsung Support; the location and availability of display options are not identical across all tablets and software versions.

Do not confuse tablet settings with phone-only guidance
Samsung’s cited one-handed mode instructions describe a Galaxy phone feature that temporarily shrinks the phone display. They are not the general method for reducing content size on a Galaxy tablet. See Samsung’s one-handed mode instructions for the phone-specific context.
