You can create an ibisAccount from ibisPaint’s sign-in flow, or use an existing Apple, Facebook, or X account. Creating a login does not upload local drawings automatically: upload or synchronize each artwork before relying on it on another device.
Do you need an ibisAccount to use ibisPaint?
Not for every local drawing function. You can draw and save work on your device without treating registration and local editing as the same thing. ibisPaint’s online services—including signing in, cloud storage, synchronization between devices, and access to ibispaint.com—use one of four supported identities: an ibisAccount, Apple, Facebook, or X.
An ibisAccount is ibisPaint’s own login, separate from your Apple, Facebook, or X credentials. It gives you a dedicated sign-in and is the fallback ibisPaint recommends linking to an external login when you depend on cloud-stored artwork.
How to create an ibisAccount
The app and website lead to the same account service. Menu placement can differ between iOS/iPadOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and app versions.

From the ibisPaint app
- Open ibisPaint and open its account or sign-in control.
- Tap Sign in (or the equivalent account option).
- Choose Sign in with ibisAccount.
- On the ibisAccount page, choose the registration or new-account option.
- Enter the requested email address and a strong password.
- Accept the displayed terms and complete any CAPTCHA, email confirmation, or other security prompt.
- Return to ibisPaint and sign in with the new ibisAccount.
The accessible official pages do not expose the current registration form, so the wording of the registration button and any verification screen may change. If you do not see the option, use an up-to-date browser with JavaScript enabled and start again from the official ibisPaint sign-in page or the ibisAccount login page. Avoid third-party registration pages.

- Open ibispaint.com and select Sign in.
- Select Sign in with ibisAccount.
- Follow the registration link shown on the ibisAccount login page.
- Complete registration, then sign in with the same credentials.
Apple, Facebook, and X are alternative login routes
On the official sign-in flow, you can choose Apple, Facebook, or X instead of creating a separate ibisAccount. Pick one identity and use it consistently. These methods authenticate you through the external provider; they are not automatically an ibisAccount.

Link a social login to an ibisAccount
If you started with Apple, Facebook, or X, ibisPaint recommends linking that login to an ibisAccount. Its guidance says linking can preserve access if the external service has an account problem and provides continued access to cloud artwork, ibispaint.com, and account settings through the ibisAccount.
- Sign in with the identity you currently use for ibisPaint.
- Open the account or settings area.
- Choose the ibisAccount-linking option.
- Sign in to an existing ibisAccount or complete the registration flow.
- Confirm the linkage, then keep using the linked identity.
The exact in-app menu path is platform- and version-dependent; consult the current controls after signing in. Details of ibisPaint’s recommendation are on its account-linking page.

Creating an account is not the same as backing up drawings
Registration does not necessarily upload every artwork saved locally. Cloud storage is a separate upload or synchronization action.
- Create or sign in to your chosen account.
- Open the artwork you want to protect.
- Use ibisPaint’s cloud-storage or synchronization control to upload it.
- Wait until the upload finishes.
- Sign in on another device and confirm that the artwork appears before deleting, resetting, or replacing the original device.
Control names vary by edition, so follow the current labels in the app. A local-only drawing will not appear on another device merely because you registered an account.

How to sign in on a new phone, tablet, or computer
- Install ibisPaint on the new device.
- Choose Sign in and select the same identity used when the artwork was uploaded.
- Open the cloud-storage area and run Cloud Synchronization (the exact label may vary).
- Wait for synchronization and check the artwork list.
Using a different Apple, Facebook, X, or ibisAccount identity can produce an empty cloud library even when the original device still contains the files. The official cloud documentation describes synchronization among devices signed in with the same account: ibisPaint cloud storage information.

These limits and retention terms can change. An ibisAccount does not provide unlimited storage, and Premium is not required for the non-Premium cloud allowance described above.

Troubleshooting account and cloud problems
The registration option is missing
- Make sure you selected Sign in with ibisAccount, rather than Apple, Facebook, or X.
- Open the ibisAccount page in a normal, updated browser.
- Enable JavaScript and retry from ibisPaint’s official login page.
- Look for changed wording such as a registration or new-account link; do not rely on an old screenshot.
The verification message never arrives
- Check spam, junk, and filtered folders.
- Confirm the address you entered and request another message from the live registration page if offered.
- Do not create multiple accounts while waiting, because that can make it unclear which identity owns your cloud files.
My artwork is missing after sign-in
- Sign out and try the original login method and account, including the same Apple identity if you used Hide My Email.
- Check the original device while it still works.
- Confirm that the artwork was uploaded and synchronization completed.
- Do not reset or discard the old device until the files are visible on the new one.
I created an account but local drawings did not appear
That is expected when the drawings were never uploaded. Return to the original device, upload or synchronize the required artwork, and then check the new device.
I lost access to Apple, Facebook, or X
Use the linked ibisAccount, if you created one. Without a link, recovery depends on restoring access through the external provider.
