You can use a YouTube playlist to put store promo videos in a chosen order, but a playlist alone does not automatically rotate them inside a YouTube Live broadcast. Treat these as separate jobs: use a playlist to organize videos for viewers to browse, and create a separate live stream if you need a live watch page or continuous presentation.
Choose the right YouTube setup

YouTube describes a playlist as a collection of videos. Its playlist guidance covers collecting and ordering videos, while its Live guidance covers creating or scheduling broadcasts; it does not document playlist ordering as an automatic live-rotation control (YouTube playlist help; YouTube Live encoder help).
Create and order the promo playlist
- Create the playlist. In YouTube, create a playlist from an existing video, or open the Playlists area and choose the option to create one. Add the promo videos you want customers to browse.
- Name it clearly. Use a title and description that tell shoppers what the clips cover, such as a seasonal offer or a product category. Choose the playlist privacy setting. Make it public if customers should be able to find it, and share its URL in store communications.
- Set the sequence. Open the playlist on desktop and drag entries into the order you want viewers to encounter them. Put the most relevant clip first; group related offers so the progression makes sense.
- Review the viewer experience. Check the playlist page and its video order before sharing the URL. YouTube’s documented playlist controls let you order entries; the cited guidance does not establish a rotation interval or unattended live-playback setting.
Schedule a separate live stream
If you want a broadcast rather than a playlist customers browse, create the live event separately in YouTube Studio. YouTube’s Live Control Room supports scheduling, and a scheduled stream can be promoted with its shareable URL so viewers can set reminders (YouTube Live encoder help).
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live → Manage.
- Schedule the stream and enter the event details. Copy its shareable URL for store announcements.
- Choose how to supply the video feed. YouTube supports webcam streaming for a simple live presentation. An encoder is suitable when the production needs screen sharing, external audio or video equipment, or more advanced controls.
- For an encoder workflow, copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube’s Live Control Room into the encoder. Start sending the feed from the encoder, then use Live Control Room to start the broadcast when ready.
A webcam is useful when a presenter should appear or show merchandise live; it is not necessary simply to organize prerecorded clips into a playlist. If you need prerecorded clips to run as a continuous live presentation, that requires a separately configured broadcast or automation workflow. Do not assume playlist ordering provides that function.

Arrange product features on an eligible live stream
If the channel meets YouTube Shopping requirements, you can tag products on a live stream and arrange their display order in YouTube Studio. YouTube Help states that up to 30 products can be arranged for a live stream. Eligibility and whether products appear to viewers depend on creator eligibility and viewer location, so check the current requirements and availability before promoting this feature (YouTube Shopping help).
Keep the two kinds of ordering distinct: dragging videos changes the order in a playlist; Shopping controls the order of tagged products on an eligible stream.

Prepare promo content responsibly
- Use video, music, images, and product material that your store has the rights to use. A public playlist or live broadcast does not grant permission to use someone else’s copyrighted work.
- Make the offer, applicable dates, and any important conditions clear in the promo itself or its description.
- Do not promise a particular live rotation cadence based on playlist order. YouTube’s cited playlist and Live guidance does not specify one.
YouTube publishes no performance figure in the cited guidance for playlist rotation, promo sales lift, or conversion. The 30-product figure is a platform feature limit, not a sales or viewing benchmark.
Common setup problems
- Playlist videos are not appearing as a live broadcast: a playlist organizes videos; it does not create a live feed. Schedule a stream separately and use a supported live method or a separately configured broadcast workflow.
- The videos are in the wrong order: open the playlist on desktop and drag the entries into the intended sequence, then review the playlist page.
- The stream does not appear to be sending: confirm the encoder is using the stream URL and key from the scheduled event, start the encoder feed, and check Live Control Room before starting the broadcast.
- Viewers cannot find the playlist: check its privacy setting. A playlist intended for public discovery needs to be public; otherwise share it only with the audience allowed by its setting.
- Products are not visible to viewers: verify Shopping eligibility and viewer-country availability. A product’s position in the video playlist does not control its Shopping display order.
