The workflow uses a project folder, timed HTML elements, a browser preview, and a final render. The steps below describe the documented process; they do not claim a specific first-hand demo, result, or time saving.
What it means to make a demo video in HTML
HyperFrames treats the video composition as an HTML document rather than a timeline project. You arrange text, images, video, and other page elements, then use timing and layout attributes to define when and where those elements appear. Animations can use a seekable runtime such as GSAP, Lottie, or CSS.

This is not simply recording a web page as it plays. HyperFrames can seek the composition to specific frames during rendering, which lets it capture the animation consistently. Its documentation describes the project as “Write HTML. Render video. Built for agents.” (HyperFrames Introduction; HyperFrames repository README)
What goes into a HyperFrames project
A typical project includes a meta.json file, a root index.html composition, and an assets directory for media. It can also include sub-compositions. A source video is optional; the quickstart says one can be supplied during initialization for transcription and captions. (HyperFrames Quickstart)

- HTML composition: The visual structure and layout of the demo.
- Timing metadata: Data attributes define when elements enter or leave the composition.
- Animation: CSS or a seekable animation runtime controls movement and transitions.
- Assets: Product screenshots, logos, video, and other media used in the composition.
Initialize the project
The documented CLI quick path starts a project from a terminal. These commands use the project name my-video and the documented output filename output.mp4:
-
Initialize a project:
npx hyperframes init my-video -
Enter the project directory and author the composition and assets there. The documentation also describes an AI-agent-assisted workflow in which you describe the video, then upload the resulting project ZIP for previewing, rendering, and sharing. (Create a new video)

Start the browser preview from the project:
npx hyperframes preview -
Render the finished composition:
npx hyperframes render --output output.mp4
The commands above are the documented CLI workflow; they do not replace the work of selecting assets, structuring the demo, or checking the finished output. The CLI reference documents initialization, preview, and render commands. (HyperFrames CLI)

Preview and iterate in the browser
Preview is the check-before-render stage. The quickstart documents browser preview with hot reload, so edits to the project can appear in the preview as you work. Use this loop to check the composition at relevant points in its duration: confirm that product details are legible, elements appear at the intended times, and animations are in the right positions before rendering. (HyperFrames Quickstart)
How HyperFrames turns the composition into an MP4
For a render, HyperFrames loads the HTML in headless Chrome, captures frames by seeking through the composition, and sends those frames to FFmpeg for MP4 encoding. That pipeline explains why the composition needs defined timing and seekable animation: the renderer must be able to reproduce the intended visual state at each captured frame. (HyperFrames Introduction)

Does this replace a video editor?
It replaces timeline-based authoring for the documented workflow, but it does not make the creative work disappear. You still need a composition, suitable media, timing, and a review of the rendered video. The official documentation describes how to create, preview, and render; it does not establish that HyperFrames is easier, faster, cheaper, or higher-quality than any particular conventional editor.
This approach is a fit to consider when you want a video composition defined in HTML and are comfortable working with project files or an AI-assisted coding workflow. The docs do not require a particular camera, microphone, or physical product; media assets and source video are optional parts of a project. (HyperFrames Quickstart)
