You can turn photos in your Google Photos library into a printed softcover or hardcover book without exporting them to another design service. Start in the Google Photos Android app or on photos.google.com, choose photos or an existing album, edit the draft, and place the order through Google’s Print store. The service is not available in every country, so check the Print store in your account before preparing a book.
Start a photo book in the Google Photos app or on the web
On Android
- Open the Google Photos app and sign in.
- At the top, tap Create > Photo books, prints, & more > Photo books > Make a photo book.
- Select at least 20 photos, then tap Done. Google saves the draft automatically.
You can also start with an album: open Collections > Albums, choose an album, and tap Order photos > Photo book. Google documents these steps in its photo book instructions.

On a computer
- Go to photos.google.com and sign in.
- Click Print store > Photo books > Make a photo book.
- Select photos and click Done.
To create a book from an album on a computer, open Albums, select the album, then choose Print store > Photo book. You can start from photos surfaced by Google Photos, a search, or an album.

- Minimum selection: 20 photos.
- More than 140 selected: Google turns some images into a collage on one page.
- Draft expiry: An unedited draft is automatically deleted after 90 days.
These are the limits in Google’s current creation instructions. If you want to keep a draft, return to it and make edits before the 90-day deletion period.

Edit the book and check image quality
Google’s editor saves changes automatically. Before checkout, review the cover and page sequence, then inspect any image-quality warnings.
- Change the first-page title and cover photo.
- Reposition photos and change page layouts.
- Drag pages to reorder them.
- Add photo pages or collage pages, or remove photos.
- Add captions where supported. Captions are not available on full-page photos; adding one resizes the photo.
A warning indicator identifies photos that may look blurry in print because of low resolution. Google allows you to print them, but cautions that the result may not look like it does onscreen. If you have a higher-resolution original, replace the flagged image before ordering. See Google’s photo book editing guidance.

Google does not give a fixed current book price on the product page: pricing varies, and the order flow shows the book price and shipping cost. Treat the amount displayed for your destination at checkout as the applicable quote. The $9.99 starting price Google announced in 2021 is historical, not a current offer.

For a computer order, Google’s instructions say to choose softcover or hardcover, review quantity and subtotal, and enter shipping and payment details. Google accepts Google Pay, credit cards, and debit cards. Check the delivery estimate shown for your address: Google says production and packaging may take 2–4 business days, shipping estimates are not guaranteed, and priority shipping does not support PO boxes. U.S. and Canadian books can only be shipped within the country where they were purchased. The U.S. page lists separate estimates for the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Google’s ordering instructions allow cancellation within two hours. After cancellation, a temporary authorization charge may take up to 14 days to disappear. Before an order is archived, Google also offers a PDF download; archiving deletes that PDF copy and prevents reordering or contacting Google about the order.

Check whether photo books are available where you live
Google’s current Photos overview says printing is available in the U.S., Canada, the EU, and the UK, while its photo book Help page warns that books are not available in every country. Availability can depend on the product and delivery address, so confirm that Photo books appears in the Print store for your account before spending time editing. See Google’s Photos overview and creation instructions.
Google’s July 2022 announcement described a rollout in Canada and 28 European countries; that is a historical rollout report, not a current country-by-country availability list. The live Print store is the more useful check for a specific order.

When Google Photos is—and is not—the right book maker
Google Photos is a convenient choice if your pictures are already in its library and you want to select them there, make basic layout edits, and order in one workflow. For a more elaborate design, the Associated Press characterizes Google’s layouts as basic and no-frills and names Mixbook and Shutterfly as alternatives. Compare services by the design controls they offer, the price shown at checkout, available sizes and covers, the effort needed to transfer photos, and delivery destinations and timing. The available comparison does not establish those alternatives’ current prices, Google Photos import steps, or country availability, so verify those details directly before choosing.
