To make a 24/7 devotional stream with aarti timings on screen, prepare your video and audio, add a schedule overlay, then send the program to YouTube Live through an encoder. For a straightforward DIY setup, OBS can display text from a file; update that file whenever the temple or ritual organizer changes its timetable. Use the specific temple’s current schedule and label its local time zone—there is no universal aarti timetable.
Choose the stream format and confirm the schedule
First decide what viewers will see: a live camera feed, an original prepared program, or prerecorded devotional material played in a loop. These are different production workflows. YouTube’s encoder workflow is intended for external audio/video sources and more advanced productions; consult YouTube’s encoder help for its current setup guidance.

Before assembling the program, ask the temple or ritual organizer for the current aarti schedule. Record the temple name, location, time zone, event name, and the date you verified the schedule. Check again for festival days or other special events, when timings may change.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePublished schedules are local examples, not general rules. For instance, the Hindu Temple Society of North America lists a daily 7:30 p.m. Sarva Devata Harati and notes that its streaming schedule can change, including during festivals. Shri Kesariyaji Temple publishes its own sequence of daily ritual timings. Neither schedule should be applied to a different temple.

Use devotional music, chants, footage, and images only when you have the necessary permission or rights. A recording being religious or publicly available does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it.
Build the video and aarti-time overlay in OBS
- Make a scene. Add the devotional video or visual loop and audio sources you intend to broadcast. Arrange the sources and check that the picture and sound remain consistent when the video loops.
- Create schedule text. OBS’s sources reference documents a text source that can read from a file and reload when that file is saved. Put the current event and time in a UTF-8 text file, then add that file as a text source in the scene.
- Make it readable. Keep the wording short and high-contrast. For example: “Next: Evening Aarti — 7:30 p.m. local time.” This is illustrative only; substitute the selected temple’s verified schedule and time zone.
- Plan for updates. Assign someone to check the schedule and update the file when timings change. OBS’s editable-file approach does not itself validate a timetable. If you build an automated schedule feed, test the event, time zone, daylight-saving changes where relevant, and what appears if the feed fails.
- Preview the full scene. Check the overlay against the actual video on the devices and screen sizes your viewers are likely to use. Confirm that the text is not obscured and that it remains synchronized with the current schedule.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
YouTube currently requires a verified channel with no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned launch. Check YouTube’s live-streaming setup help for current eligibility and setup instructions.

- Create or schedule the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream.
- Copy the connection details. In the Live Control Room, use the stream URL and stream key YouTube provides. In OBS, open Settings → Stream, select YouTube as the service, and enter the connection details using the available connection method. Treat the stream key like a password: do not show it in the stream or share it publicly.
- Check the encoder output. Confirm OBS is sending the intended scene and audio, then start the encoder. Wait for the YouTube preview in the Live Control Room before starting the broadcast to viewers.
- Verify the public event. Check that the event opens from your channel or its watch page and can be reached from a mobile device.
YouTube supports both software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. A dedicated hardware encoder is optional; YouTube says expensive equipment is not required for beginners. If you use hardware, confirm that the particular device and workflow can produce the overlay you need before purchasing it. See YouTube’s encoder guidance.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTest continuity, audio, and archive expectations
Do not leave a new setup unattended without a full test. YouTube recommends setting up encoder events in advance, starting the encoder before the event, checking the preview, confirming access from channel/watch pages and mobile devices, and monitoring audio and video quality. For a continuous devotional program, also verify that the visual loop, sound, and schedule text behave correctly across repeated cycles.

- Watch the schedule text through a timing change and confirm the update appears as expected.
- Check that the encoder and internet connection remain stable for a representative test period before relying on the system unattended.
- Decide how a person will notice and respond to an encoder, power, or network interruption.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a longer continuous stream will produce one complete automatic archive; plan and verify archive handling separately if a recording matters. The condition is described in YouTube’s encoder help.

Protect the stream from copyright interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects content, it may show a placeholder and warn the channel; continued use can interrupt or terminate the stream. YouTube also cautions that licensed third-party content may still be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel in Content ID where required. Read YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
- Keep records of permissions or licenses for devotional recordings, compositions, footage, and images.
- Ask the rights owner whether the channel needs to be added to a Content ID allowlist.
- Do not treat a successful test broadcast as proof that a later broadcast will be free of rights claims.
Troubleshoot common problems
The YouTube preview never appears
Check that the encoder is running and that OBS has the stream URL and current stream key from the correct Live Control Room event. Confirm live streaming is enabled on the channel and allow for the possible first-time activation delay. If the key was exposed or replaced, use the current key rather than an old one.

The aarti time is wrong or stale
Verify the timetable with the temple or organizer, including the date and local time zone. Check for festival changes, then update the text file and save it so OBS reloads the source. If the text comes from an automated feed, inspect its time-zone, daylight-saving, and failure behavior.
The schedule text cannot be read
Shorten the label, increase contrast, and preview the scene at different screen sizes. Keep the event name and time zone visible without covering the devotional video.
Audio or video stops during the loop
Replay the program in a test broadcast and monitor the encoder output as well as the YouTube preview. Check the source media, OBS scene, computer power settings, and network connection; identify who will respond if a failure occurs.
The stream is interrupted after a copyright warning
Review the matched material and the relevant rights. Confirm the license covers live streaming on the channel and ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting. A license alone may not prevent an automated interruption if allowlisting is needed.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping uploaded videos live around the clock. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a camera, so prepare the aarti timing in the video or another suitable uploaded visual before using it.
