A song’s devotional subject, traditional lyrics, or availability online does not by itself give you permission to rebroadcast it. YouTube can interrupt a live stream when it detects third-party content, and permission to use music does not by itself guarantee monetization.
How can I run a 24/7 devotional songs stream without interruptions?
There is no way to guarantee uninterrupted playback: YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, and a match may cause the stream to be replaced with a placeholder, interrupted, or terminated. The best preparation is to clear the rights for every track, use a stable broadcast workflow, and have a plan for responding to warnings or a stopped stream.
1. Build a track-by-track rights record
Before adding a song, document what it is, who controls each relevant right, and exactly what uses you have permission for. YouTube’s live-stream terms put the responsibility for having the necessary rights on the provider, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Read the YouTube Terms of Service and keep written permissions with your records.
- Track title and version, performer, and recording owner.
- Contacts or rights holders for the composition and lyrics, as applicable.
- Permission evidence, including the agreement or written approval.
- Territories, permitted uses, and the permission term.
- Whether the permission covers live transmission and, if planned, the archived replay.
These records help you check that the actual recording and intended uses are covered; they do not replace legal advice for a particular rights question.

2. Prepare the live feed and a recovery plan
YouTube describes a live-stream feed as video sent to YouTube for a live broadcast. Its API documentation does not prescribe a particular computer, encoder, internet service, or hardware model. Choose a workflow that can provide a stable feed for your planned schedule, and decide in advance who will check the live session and YouTube Studio and what to do if the feed stops.
If you receive a warning or YouTube detects third-party material, review the notice and resolve or remove the material rather than assuming the stream can continue. A license alone may not prevent an interruption: YouTube says a licensed third-party track can still trigger one if your channel is not on the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights owner whether the channel can be allowlisted when relevant.

3. Make the schedule and format understandable
Tell listeners when the stream runs and what they will hear. Use accurate titles and descriptions, and make it easy to understand who created or performed the material. A predictable schedule and a fallback plan are useful operational choices, but neither changes the rights needed for the music.
Can I use devotional or traditional songs freely on my channel?
Not automatically. Music can involve distinct rights in the sound recording and in the underlying musical work, including its composition and lyrics. Traditional or old material may have different rights circumstances from a modern recording or arrangement of it. The fact that a song is religious, traditional, on a CD or music service, or already posted on another YouTube channel is not proof that you may rebroadcast that particular recording.

YouTube’s copyright guidance explains that giving credit does not itself grant permission. Its music rights guidance distinguishes the recording from the underlying musical work and notes that public-performance rights in compositions are frequently controlled by performing-rights organizations. Check the specific work, recording, rights holder, territory, and intended uses rather than assuming one permission covers everything.
Questions to resolve before streaming from India
This guide does not establish a universal India-specific licensing route. For each track, confirm with the relevant rights holders or a qualified adviser that your permissions cover the planned territory and use. In particular, establish whether the approval covers live transmission, any archived or replay version, and all relevant recording and composition rights. YouTube’s terms describe a worldwide rights representation; that is a platform requirement, not an India-specific legal opinion.

Can a 24/7 loop of devotional songs be monetized?
Copyright permission and YouTube monetization suitability are separate checks. You may have permission to use a track and still face a reused-content or repetitive-content issue in a channel-level monetization review. YouTube says its reviewers may consider videos, titles, and descriptions; its channel monetization policies treat reused content separately from copyright enforcement and identify repetitive or mass-produced content as potentially inauthentic.
Show what your channel adds
Where possible, commission or record original performances and arrangements, and add meaningful presentation or context. Explain who made the material and what listeners can expect in the channel description and stream schedule. Avoid relying on barely changed copies, pitch-shifted commercial recordings, or a static slideshow repeated at scale. These steps can make your original contribution more apparent, but they do not guarantee acceptance into monetization.

Should the stream include an archive?
Decide separately whether to keep the live broadcast as an archived recording. If you do, review the finished archive for claims or restrictions and keep the associated permissions and correspondence. YouTube says Content ID claims are made after a live stream is completed if the creator chooses to archive it. A permission for live transmission should not be assumed to cover an archive unless the permission says so.
DIY or cloud streaming: choose a workflow
A self-managed setup can work if you can keep its feed running and monitor it; a cloud service shifts the continuous playback operation away from a home computer. Neither option clears music rights or makes a stream immune to YouTube’s copyright checks. For an always-on YouTube channel, StreamNeo is the first cloud option to consider: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
Or let it run in the cloud
- Upload your recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so your computer can be off.
Every slot includes one always-on YouTube stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. The same product is included on every plan; only the billing length changes. Your uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, without re-encoding or quality tiers. It does not stream from a camera, and StreamNeo streams to YouTube only.
Nothing has to stay on at home. Any quality up to 4K 60fps is included at one price per slot; automatic recovery is available if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. Read more at StreamNeo, then start your free day.
