To make a 24/7 devotional music live stream for YouTube, verify that your channel can livestream, prepare a continuous audio-and-visual program, clear the music rights for continuous streaming, and send the program through YouTube Live Control Room using an encoder. YouTube can interrupt a stream when its systems detect third-party content, so rights clearance—including any needed Content ID allowlisting—is essential before you leave a stream running.
Check that your channel can go live
YouTube says a channel needs to be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days to stream. The person streaming must be at least 16. Check eligibility before preparing a long-running broadcast in YouTube’s Get started with live streaming guidance.
Prepare the devotional program and visual
Decide what audio and visuals the stream will present, and make sure you have permission for every recording and other third-party material. For a music-only program, a camera or microphone is not inherently required; the stream still needs an audio-video program to send to YouTube. YouTube describes encoder streaming as an option for creators who want to use hardware or add overlays, but its guidance does not prescribe a particular encoder, computer, 24/7 configuration, or restart plan.
Clear music rights before broadcasting
Do not assume that a song being devotional, widely shared, or already available online makes it free to livestream. Confirm that the rights you have cover the specific recordings and continuous YouTube livestream use. YouTube scans all live streams for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in another live broadcast. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder; if the issue remains unresolved, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A license alone may not prevent an automated interruption. YouTube advises creators who have licensed third-party content to ask the content owner to add their channel to the Content ID allowlist. Coordinate with the relevant rights owner, label, or distributor before going live, and ask whether the intended continuous livestream is covered and whether allowlisting is required. YouTube for Artists likewise recommends that music channels coordinate with their label or distributor to avoid issues such as copyright strikes: Going live for music channels.
Send the program using an encoder
- Open YouTube Live Control Room. Select the encoder streaming option for your broadcast. YouTube lists encoder streaming among its live methods and notes that encoders can support overlays and hardware workflows.
- Configure your encoder and stream destination. Follow the values and instructions shown in Live Control Room and in the documentation for the encoder you choose. The cited YouTube guidance does not specify universal bitrate, resolution, keyframe, or audio settings, so do not treat any unsourced values as a guaranteed 24/7 configuration.
- Start the encoder output and check the YouTube preview. Confirm that the intended audio and visual program is reaching YouTube before making the stream public. The official guidance supports the encoder workflow, not a particular failover or automatic-restart design.
- Decide whether to keep an archive. If you choose to archive a live stream, YouTube says Content ID claims on the archived stream are made after the stream is complete. Archiving does not replace rights clearance for the live broadcast.
Plan for continuity and limits
A 24/7 broadcast requires the selected encoder setup and its connection to keep supplying the program; the official YouTube guidance cited here does not establish a required computer specification, internet redundancy design, uptime guarantee, or method that prevents every interruption. Treat those as separate operational decisions rather than assumed YouTube features. YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025, a platform-wide figure that does not predict devotional-music audience size or reach for an individual channel.
