To loop a SaaS feature demo as a YouTube Live broadcast, loop the recorded video or playlist in an encoder such as OBS Studio, send that feed to YouTube using a stream URL and key, then embed the live watch page on your product website. YouTube must be enabled for live streaming on your channel before you begin.
If you only need a recorded demo to repeat in an embedded player, use YouTube’s regular video embed loop settings instead. That repeats playback but does not create a live broadcast.

Choose between a live broadcast and a looping video
A YouTube Live feed makes sense when the site needs to present an always-on broadcast surface, such as a live status indicator or a stream viewers can find on the channel. If the goal is simply to keep a demo playing on a page, a regular video embed is simpler: it loops playback without an encoder or live event.
| Option | What it does | Best fit | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| OBS Studio on a maintained computer | Loops a local video or playlist and sends it to YouTube Live. | Teams needing scene control, overlays, or a software-based workflow. | The computer, network, and encoder process must remain available and monitored; OBS loop controls are not an uptime guarantee. |
| StreamNeo hosted continuous streaming | Plays uploaded videos to a YouTube Live stream from the cloud. | Teams that do not want a local computer to keep the feed running. | It plays uploaded video rather than going live from a camera, and streams to YouTube only. |
| Regular YouTube video embed | Repeats a published video or playlist in an embedded player; it is not a live broadcast. | Product pages that need repeating demo playback, not a live channel surface. | Does not create a YouTube Live feed or live watch page. |
In general, compare whether a live broadcast is necessary, who will operate the encoder, whether you need scene changes or overlays, what the website embed should show, and who is responsible for keeping the feed available.

Check YouTube channel readiness first
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions during the preceding 90 days. Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours. Check eligibility before planning a launch or website change; see YouTube’s live streaming tips and its encoder setup instructions.
An encoder-based setup is appropriate for a software demo captured from a screen and for productions that need audio/video equipment or production controls. YouTube describes live streaming as a way to interact with an audience in real time through a video feed, chat, and more.
Loop a SaaS demo in OBS Studio
Prepare the recording or playlist
Use a finished demo recording with the intended narration, cursor movement, and product state. Remove private customer data, credentials, internal dashboards, and anything that should not be public. For a single clip, OBS Media Source supports common formats including MP4 and WebM. For multiple clips, use an OBS VLC Video source; VLC must be installed.

Add a single video and enable looping
- Open OBS Studio and add a Media Source to the scene you will stream.
- Select the demo video file in the source’s properties.
- Enable Loop so playback restarts when the file completes. OBS Project documentation describes this as specifying whether the file plays again after playback has completed; see OBS Media Sources.
- Check the scene preview and audio levels. If the recording includes audio, confirm it is audible and not duplicated by another active audio source.
Loop a sequence of demos
- Install VLC if it is not already installed.
- Add a VLC Video source in OBS and create a playlist of the demo files in the order you want visitors to see them.
- Enable Loop Playlist, then preview the sequence to confirm the end of the last clip returns to the first.
Keep the playlist intentional: viewers may join at any point, and a repeated sequence should make sense without a beginning-only introduction.
Create the YouTube Live stream and connect OBS
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule an encoder-based live stream. Follow YouTube’s current Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder workflow.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room into the corresponding streaming settings in OBS.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Do not include it in screen recordings, public documentation, or shared configuration. If it is exposed, use YouTube’s live stream settings to reset it and review privacy controls.
- Start the encoder output and wait for the Live Control Room preview to show the feed before starting or publishing the event.
This method uses the video or playlist as the encoder source; YouTube receives a continuous live feed rather than a request to repeat a normal uploaded video.
Test the stream before embedding it
- Set up the encoder ahead of the intended launch and verify the preview in Live Control Room.
- Check that the watch page is visible as intended on the channel and on mobile.
- Listen for clear audio and inspect picture quality, transitions, and loop behavior.
- Check that the archive, if you intend to keep one, is usable.
- Keep upload bandwidth above the stream’s bitrate. YouTube recommends allowing 20% headroom; its streaming tips cover this operational guidance.
YouTube also recommends advance setup, preview checks, and monitoring stream quality in its live streaming tips.

Embed the live watch page on the product website
For a live broadcast, use YouTube’s embed flow for the live watch page and place the resulting embed in the product page. Test the page while the stream is actually live, including on mobile and at the dimensions used by your site. The site embed is a view of the broadcast; it does not keep the encoder running.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Use a regular video embed when live status is unnecessary
For one recorded video, YouTube’s IFrame Player parameters support looping with loop=1 and playlist=VIDEO_ID, where VIDEO_ID is the same video ID being embedded. This loops player playback, not a YouTube Live broadcast. For details, see Google’s YouTube Embedded Players and Player Parameters.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a hosted option for looping uploaded recordings to YouTube Live. Upload the demo, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops it from the cloud. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Troubleshoot common failures
OBS is not sending a picture to YouTube
Confirm that OBS is streaming to the intended YouTube event and that the stream URL and key match the values in Live Control Room. Check whether the correct scene is active and whether its media source is visible. Never paste a stream key into public troubleshooting posts.
The demo stops at the end
For one file, check that Loop is enabled on the Media Source. For a multi-file sequence, check Loop Playlist on the VLC Video source, confirm the intended files are in the playlist, and verify VLC is installed.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThe feed is unstable or drops
Check the encoder computer’s network and available upload capacity. YouTube recommends a 20% upload-bandwidth margin over the stream bitrate. Monitor Live Control Room and the encoder rather than assuming that a visible preview at startup guarantees a continuous feed.

The stream works but the website does not show it
Verify that you embedded the live watch page, that the event is live and available under its privacy setting, and that the page works on mobile. If the page only needs a repeated recording, replace the live embed with a regular video embed configured with the documented loop parameters.
Live streaming is not available yet
Check channel verification and whether the channel has live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days. A first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours, so it may not be ready immediately.
Copyright and product-demo content
Only stream recordings and audio you have the rights to use. A SaaS demo can expose customer information or proprietary material just as easily as it can show a public feature, so review the complete loop and playlist before launch. YouTube’s live setup and streaming guidance covers technical operation; it does not establish that a particular demo, music track, or reuse of content is authorized. Review YouTube’s applicable policies and your own content rights before broadcasting.
