To loop a Hindi video continuously, run FFmpeg with -stream_loop -1; for a rotating lineup, feed FFmpeg a concat-demuxer playlist and loop that input. Read local files at real-time speed with -re, send the output to the current RTMPS URL and stream key from YouTube Live Control Room, and monitor the encoder and stream health. Hindi does not require a special loop mode—the important differences are your playlist, output settings, rights, and whether the machine and connection can run continuously.
Choose a single video or a playlist
Use a single-file loop when the channel is meant to repeat one prepared video. Use a concat playlist when you want an ordered rotation of several videos. In either case, -stream_loop -1 repeats the input indefinitely. The loop option does not supervise FFmpeg or reconnect a failed process; you need a separate restart and alert plan for an unattended broadcast.

Prepare and check the source videos
Inspect the files
Check the installed FFmpeg build with ffmpeg -version and inspect each source with ffprobe. Confirm video dimensions, frame rate, codec, audio codec, and whether an audio stream exists. The online FFmpeg manual tracks current revisions, while installed versions and build options can differ; use the manual for your local release and test the exact files you will broadcast. Make playlist inputs consistent when needed
The concat demuxer is most dependable when the files have matching stream properties. If clips vary in dimensions, frame rates, codecs, or audio, normalize them to a common profile or verify the joins with a representative test before relying on the stream. Hindi speech, Hindi subtitles, and Hindi metadata do not change FFmpeg’s looping process; rights and content suitability are separate concerns.

Build a playlist and loop it

Create a text file named
playlist.txtin the working directory. Add one line for each video in the required order, using paths FFmpeg can access. For example:file 'part-01.mp4' file 'part-02.mp4' file 'part-03.mp4' -
For paths containing spaces or special characters, use correctly quoted paths and test the list. The example below uses
-safe 0, which permits paths the concat demuxer’s default safety rules might reject; do not use untrusted playlist entries. -
Pass the list as a concat-demuxer input and place

Send the loop to YouTube Live
Get the current ingest details and protect the key
In YouTube Live Control Room, retrieve the current RTMPS server URL and stream key for the broadcast. YouTube recommends RTMPS for live ingest. A stream key functions like a password: keep it out of public scripts, screenshots, logs, and articles. Do not rely on an old endpoint copied from an unrelated example.

Use a starting command, then match settings to your stream
This shell command is a schematic starting point, not a universally tested configuration. Set the environment variables to the RTMPS server URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. The example transcodes to H.264 and AAC; choose the output resolution, frame rate, bitrate, codecs, and keyframe interval for your sources, network, installed FFmpeg build, and YouTube’s current encoder guidance.

Its -g 60 setting corresponds to a two-second keyframe interval only if the output frame rate is 30 fps; at another frame rate, calculate the GOP accordingly. If every source stream is compatible with the output and no processing is needed, -c copy may avoid transcoding, but test file joins and timestamps. Mixed inputs generally need normalization rather than blind stream copying.
Follow YouTube’s current video guidance
YouTube Help’s encoder guidance, checked October 3, 2026, lists H.264, H.265, or AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; CBR; frame rates up to 60 fps; and a recommended two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. It lists H.264 guidance for 1080p at 30 fps as 5 Mbps minimum and 10 Mbps recommended, and for 1080p at 60 fps as 6 Mbps minimum and 17 Mbps recommended. These are YouTube’s platform figures, not guarantees of picture quality or a substitute for checking the current bitrate range for your selected codec, resolution, and frame rate. Consult the YouTube live encoder settings before going live.

Make a short unlisted test using representative motion and sound. Confirm the playlist advances and loops, audio is present and synchronized, and the picture has the intended resolution and frame rate.

Check YouTube Live Control Room’s stream health during the test. Resolve warnings before switching to a public broadcast.

Keep an eye on FFmpeg logs, local disk space if recording, network stability, and whether the FFmpeg process remains alive. Arrange process supervision and an alert or restart strategy;

Plan for archives and YouTube rules
A 24/7 broadcast may not create a complete archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured, and DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable on very long streams. If a complete record matters, record locally or plan deliberate segments, and verify the current channel and stream settings. See YouTube’s live stream archiving guidance and YouTube’s DVR guidance.

Confirm broadcast rights and channel suitability
Looping a file does not grant permission to broadcast it. Confirm that you have the necessary rights to the video, music, performances, and any other included material. YouTube’s copyright and live-stream policies apply regardless of language or whether the footage is prerecorded. Review YouTube copyright guidance before using material you did not create or license.

The playlist will not open: Check that
playlist.txtis in the expected working directory, each file path is valid, and the list syntax is correct. Verify paths permitted by your concat settings and run a short local test. -
The stream fails or glitches at a clip boundary: Inspect the files’ stream properties and timestamps. Normalize incompatible clips to a common profile or test stream copy versus transcoding with the exact playlist.

YouTube reports poor stream health or drops the feed: Recheck the current RTMPS URL and key, sustained upload capacity, codec, bitrate, CBR mode, frame rate, and keyframe interval against YouTube’s current guidance. Inspect both FFmpeg’s output and Live Control Room.

Audio is missing or out of sync: Check whether every clip has an audio stream and whether audio formats and timestamps align. Test a normalized audio output and listen to the entire transition between representative clips.

The stream stops after running for a while: Check whether FFmpeg exited, the host lost power or connectivity, storage filled, or YouTube disconnected the feed. A loop flag is not a watchdog; add logging, process supervision, and a restart/alert plan.

The archive is incomplete: A broadcast longer than 12 hours may not be captured automatically. Record locally or divide the broadcast into planned shorter sessions if the archive is important.
