1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf you’re watching a lesson, use YouTube’s Loop control to repeat a video or playlist. If you mean broadcasting prerecorded lessons as a live event, that is a different creator workflow: a viewer’s loop button does not retransmit a video to YouTube Live. The steps below cover both, plus school-account restrictions that may affect students in India.
Choose the right feature for your goal
| Your goal | Use | Who controls it | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Repeat one ordinary lesson video | Video Loop | Viewer | Does not broadcast the video live. |
| Repeat a sequence of lessons | Playlist Loop | Viewer | Repeats playlist playback; it is not a live feed. |
| Pause or rewind during a live event | Live DVR, if enabled and available | Creator enables it; viewer uses it | It does not restart or rebroadcast the event. |
| Present prerecorded lessons as a live event | An encoder sending a feed to YouTube Live | Stream creator | Requires eligible live-stream access and a configured stream. |
| Show selected videos in a supported classroom platform | Player for Education integration | Teacher, school and platform provider | It is not a general playlist-loop tool. |
YouTube documents the viewer repeat controls in its Loop videos or playlists help page. Its separate encoder instructions explain how creators send a live feed.

Repeat an educational video or playlist
On a computer
- Open the video you want to study.
- Right-click inside the video player and select Loop. YouTube’s documented instruction is: “To repeat a video: Right Click in the video player. Click Loop.”
- To repeat a playlist, play a video in that playlist, expand the playlist panel, and switch on Loop in the playlist box.
On Android
- Open the video’s watch screen and tap Settings.
- Tap Additional settings, then Loop video to repeat that video.
- For a playlist, start the playlist and tap Loop in its control box. Tap Loop again to repeat the current video within the playlist; the loop icon displays a “1”.
On a TV or game console
- While the video is playing, use the remote or controller to show the playback controls.
- Select Repeat until the player indicates Repeat • Currently playing for one video or Repeat • Playlist for the playlist. The option may also be in player Settings.
YouTube’s cited instructions cover computer, Android and TV or game-console controls. They do not establish a precise current iPhone or iPad menu path; look for the repeat control in the current app rather than relying on a specific sequence of taps.

This is for a creator or teacher who wants viewers to watch prerecorded material in a live broadcast. YouTube Live needs a feed from an encoder; turning on Loop while watching a regular video or playlist does not create that feed.

Check channel eligibility and protect the stream key
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Its current help page also says streamers must be at least 16. A student younger than the stated minimum should not operate the stream; a student who only wants to watch can use the available viewer controls and follow school rules. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance for current requirements.
The stream key is a credential that tells the encoder where to send the feed and allows YouTube to accept it. Treat it like a password: do not share it publicly or put it in a screen recording, and reset it in Live Control Room if it is exposed.

- Flexible construction makes it easy to display from virtually anywhere
Set up and start the encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create a stream, then copy the stream URL and stream key shown for it.
- In your encoder, enter YouTube’s stream URL and the stream key. Select the prerecorded lesson or prepared playlist as the source and configure the encoder’s output using its controls. YouTube’s cited encoder guidance does not prescribe one universal bitrate, resolution or keyframe value for every source and connection, so follow the current recommendations shown for your encoder and the stream’s conditions rather than assuming one setting fits all.
- Start sending the feed from the encoder. For a scheduled event, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, check picture and sound, then start the event there.
- Monitor the stream’s audio and video while it is live. YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before an event and starting it at least 15 minutes beforehand so you can preview and check quality; these are event-planning recommendations, not requirements for looping a normal video.
Review the YouTube encoder guide for the current stream setup flow. Use lesson material you have permission to broadcast and check applicable copyright rules; the steps for sending a feed do not grant rights to music, recordings, slides or other content included in it.
Use Live DVR, replays and classroom options appropriately
Live DVR is not looping
If the creator enables DVR, viewers may be able to pause, rewind and resume during the live event. YouTube warns that DVR may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours, and viewers cannot seek back to before the stream began. See YouTube’s DVR guidance.
Rank #3
A replay is not a live broadcast
YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived and can be found in the Live area of YouTube Studio. The archive is a recording available after the broadcast; it does not make the event live again. If a replay is later published as an ordinary video or included in a playlist, use the regular video or playlist repeat controls.
School-managed Google accounts may restrict access
For K–12 Google Workspace for Education accounts, access is managed by the school. Google describes defaults under which YouTube is off for under-18 users unless enabled with parental consent, and says student accounts in the described school-account experience do not have access to live streams or live chat. Settings and available features can change, and schools do not all configure accounts identically. If a student cannot open a stream or find a control, ask the teacher or school administrator. See Google’s school administrator guidance.

- Moderator function connects up to 50 users simultaneously
- Durable design provides long lamp life of 17,000 hours
- HDMI connectivity transfers video and audio through single cable
- Speaker is built-in for engaging projector displays
For classroom assignments, Google recommends Player for Education, an embedded player integrated with supported education technology tools. Google describes it as a simplified experience without ads or recommendations; ask whether the school’s platform supports it. This recommendation is for classroom viewing, not a claim that Player for Education adds a student-controlled Loop function. See YouTube for Teachers.
