To repeat a YouTube playlist on an Android TV box, start playback, press Down on the remote, then select Repeat until the player shows “Repeat • Playlist.” YouTube Help also notes that the repeat option may be in the player’s Settings. This reliably describes the playlist-repeat control, but YouTube does not specify that playlists of ongoing live broadcasts will move from one stream to the next on every Android TV box.
Turn on playlist repeat in the YouTube TV app
- From the Android TV home screen, move to the Apps row and open YouTube. The exact layout can vary by device and app version.
- Find and open the playlist you want to play. Start a video from that playlist.
- While the video is playing, press Down on the remote or game controller to show the player controls.
- Choose Repeat. Select it until the control reads “Repeat • Playlist.” If you do not see the option in the control bar, check the player’s Settings menu.
These are YouTube Help’s TV playback directions, alongside Android TV Help’s instruction to open YouTube from the home screen’s Apps row. Menu placement and wording may differ by device, app version, or locale; the official guidance does not give a model-by-model compatibility list for third-party Android TV boxes. See YouTube Help: loop videos or playlists on TV and Android TV Help: watch movies and TV shows.

Will a playlist of active live streams advance automatically?
Do not assume it will. YouTube’s TV instructions explain how to repeat a playlist, but do not say how the app handles a playlist made up of streams that are still live. A live stream is a real-time broadcast; if it remains open-ended, the usual end-of-video point that could trigger the next item may not arrive until the broadcast ends. That is a practical inference, not a documented guarantee about the YouTube app on Android TV.

Repeat, Autoplay, and DVR are different controls
- Repeat • Playlist repeats the selected playlist, as opposed to repeating just one item.
- Autoplay plays another related video after the current video ends. It is not the same as repeating the selected playlist, and it does not establish that an active live stream will end or advance.
- DVR, when available on a live stream, lets viewers pause, rewind, and resume the broadcast. It does not restart a stream or loop a playlist. YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours, and viewers cannot seek to a point before the stream began.
For details, see YouTube Help on Autoplay and YouTube Help on DVR for live streams.
If the playlist does not repeat as expected
- The Repeat option is missing: Start a playlist item, press Down while it is playing, and check the player’s Settings. The control may be presented differently across app versions and device interfaces.
- The next item does not start: Check whether the current item is still an active live broadcast. The official TV directions do not document playlist advancement for ongoing streams; try a playlist of completed replays if available.
- A live stream seems to jump or stop: Do not treat DVR as a loop control. Its availability and seek range depend on the stream, and YouTube notes limitations for broadcasts longer than 12 hours.
- Your box’s menus differ: Confirm you are in the YouTube TV playback interface and look for Repeat in the player controls or Settings. YouTube’s instructions do not guarantee identical menus on every third-party Android TV box.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded videos playing as a 24/7 YouTube channel stream, rather than watch a playlist on the TV, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and is for YouTube only. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on; uploads stream as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers. It can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are available in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Learn about StreamNeo, then start your free first day.
