To loop a webinar recording on YouTube Live, play the local video through OBS Studio’s Media Source with Loop enabled, then send OBS’s stream to YouTube using the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Preview the feed and start the event in the control room. This broadcasts a recording as a live stream; it does not make the webinar interactive or newly performed.
Before you schedule the stream
Check channel eligibility and activation time
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. If this is the channel’s first live stream, activation may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave setup until the event is due to start. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

Confirm rights to everything in the recording
Make sure the business has the rights needed to stream every element of the webinar on Google services. Check speaker appearances, slides, background or intro music, product demonstrations, and any third-party footage or clips. YouTube says live content must follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service; its livestream terms also require the provider to have the necessary rights. A recording that was cleared for an internal meeting or another platform is not automatically cleared for a public YouTube broadcast. Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio

Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room.

Create an encoder stream, or schedule one for the customer event. Scheduling gives you an event page to share in advance.

Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in the control room. You will enter them in OBS. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not share it in customer materials or public chats.

Open OBS Studio and select the scene you want to use for the broadcast.

In the Sources panel, select +, choose Media Source, and create a new source.

Select the webinar video file on your computer. OBS documents common formats such as MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM; if your file does not play as expected, check the current OBS documentation and test the file in advance.

In the Media Source properties, enable Loop. OBS leaves this off by default; enabling it makes the file start again when playback reaches the end.

Check that the video fits the scene and that its audio is audible in the OBS mixer. If you add a logo, opening slate, text, or support details, make sure it does not obscure the webinar or suggest that a person is responding live when the recording is not interactive.

See the OBS Project’s Media Sources guide for the source’s playback controls. Looping is handled by OBS: YouTube receives the encoder feed, rather than looping the file itself.
Connect OBS, preview, and start the event

In OBS, open Settings > Stream. Choose YouTube if it is available, or enter the server URL and stream key copied from Live Control Room. The exact available connection options can vary by OBS version.

Start streaming from OBS. In Live Control Room, wait for the incoming preview and check that it shows the intended video and sound.

For a scheduled event, start the event in Live Control Room after the preview is ready. For an unscheduled stream, use the applicable Go Live control after checking the preview.

Check the event on its watch page and, if customers may watch on phones, on a mobile device too. YouTube recommends setting up encoder streams ahead of time and checking the stream before the event.
Monitor the stream and plan for its ending
Allow upload headroom
YouTube recommends upload capacity that is 20% above the total stream bitrate. Leave that headroom for the complete outgoing stream, and avoid saturating the connection with other uploads during the event. This is platform guidance, not a guarantee that any particular connection will remain stable.
Keep a separate copy if the archive matters
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Keep a local recording if you need a dependable copy, and do not promise customers a complete YouTube replay for a longer event. The cited guidance does not establish that one live event can run indefinitely; check current YouTube controls before committing to an all-day or continuous broadcast. Troubleshooting common problems

You cannot start a live stream: Check that the channel is verified and has no live-streaming restriction from the previous 90 days. If it is the first stream, allow up to 24 hours for activation.

The webinar plays once and stops: Open the Media Source properties in OBS and turn on Loop; it is off by default.

YouTube does not receive a feed: Compare the stream URL and key in OBS with the values in Live Control Room. If the key may have been exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update OBS with the replacement.

The preview has no picture or sound: Check that OBS selected the intended local file, that the Media Source is visible in the scene, and that its audio is present in the mixer. Verify the incoming preview before starting the scheduled event.

The stream is unstable: Check the available upload bandwidth against the total stream bitrate and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Pause other bandwidth-heavy activity and test the full OBS-to-YouTube path before the customer event.

The recording is blocked or interrupted over rights: Review the webinar’s music, clips, slides, and other third-party material, then confirm the channel has the necessary rights and that the content meets YouTube’s policies.

The YouTube replay is missing or incomplete: If the event exceeded 12 hours, YouTube says it may not have been captured. Keep a local copy rather than relying on an archive for a long stream.
