Leaving the One UI Beta Program does not remove beta software from your Galaxy phone or tablet. To return to the previous official version, back up your data, withdraw from the beta, then use Smart Switch for PC to downgrade; Samsung says this resets the device. For a Galaxy watch, Samsung directs users to a service center.
Leaving the beta is not the same as removing it
Withdrawing stops your participation in the One UI Beta Program, but your device remains on its installed beta build until you install official software. The One UI Beta Team stated in a Samsung Community reply dated March 25, 2026: “After withdrawing, please note that your device will remain on the Beta software.” (Samsung Community)

Before you roll back, back up your data
Samsung’s rollback process initializes or factory-resets the device. Back up photos, files, messages, and other data you need before proceeding. Do not start unless you are prepared for the reset.
How to remove the beta from a Galaxy phone or tablet
- Withdraw from the beta: Open Samsung Members, go to the detail page for the enrolled beta test, open its menu, and choose the option to leave or withdraw. Complete the withdrawal survey if prompted. Samsung’s general guidance describes this route; labels and screens can vary by app version and region. See Samsung’s One UI Beta Tips.
- Install Smart Switch for PC: On a computer, install Samsung Smart Switch for PC.
- Connect the device: Connect the phone or tablet to the computer with a compatible USB data cable and approve the connection on the device.
- Start the downgrade: Open Smart Switch and select Downgrade if that option is available. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the rollback.
- Allow the device to restart: Samsung says the device reboots to the previous official OS when rollback completes.
Samsung’s Beta Tips guidance describes Smart Switch as the route back to the previous official version after leaving the beta. Whether the downgrade option is available depends on the device and region; if it does not appear, consult the Beta Tips information for your enrolled test or contact Samsung support rather than assuming a different device’s steps will apply.

Galaxy watch users need a different rollback route
Do not use the phone-and-tablet Smart Switch instructions for a Galaxy watch. Samsung’s Beta Tips page says watch beta software must be rolled back at a service center.
Should you wait for the stable update instead?
If the beta period has ended and Samsung offers an official update for your specific model, installing that update may be an alternative to downgrading. Samsung says the official version can be downloaded after a beta ends, but availability varies by device and region. Samsung also cautions that staying on beta after the test period can prevent future updates, including official versions. Choose the route that fits your device and situation

Check these details before starting
- Confirm the exact Galaxy model and region, and check the beta information for the test you joined.
- Verify whether the beta has ended and whether an official update is available for your device.
- Back up the data you need before any rollback.
- For a phone or tablet downgrade, make sure you have access to a computer, Smart Switch for PC, and a compatible USB data cable.
- If Smart Switch does not show Downgrade, availability may depend on the device or region; check Samsung’s guidance for your enrolled test.
