To continue your existing Genshin Impact save on a phone, sign in with the same HoYoverse account and choose the same game server used on the device where your progress is saved. First check the current save’s login details in Settings > Account > User Center; a different sign-in method or server can make the game appear to have started over.
Before switching to mobile, identify the account with your save
On the device where the correct progress is visible, open Settings > Account > User Center. Check which HoYoverse account or linked login method is associated with the save, and make sure you can use those credentials before signing out or moving to another device.

HoYoverse says progress is tied to a specific account, which can be identified by an email, social login, or in-game UID. If the account needs an email and password for access on another platform, add an email and set a password in User Center where those options are available.

- Install or open Genshin Impact on your iOS or Android device.
- At the sign-in screen, use the same HoYoverse account credentials or linked third-party login method identified on the device with your save.
- Select the same server as the one used for that progress.
- After the game loads, check that your character and progress are present.
HoYoverse’s cross-platform guidance, updated September 9, 2025, lists PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation, and Xbox as supported for cross-save. The key is signing in with the same account on each platform; simply using the same email address with a different login method does not necessarily select the same account.

If your account started on PlayStation
On the PlayStation where the desired progress is available, open Settings > Account > User Center, link an email to the HoYoverse account, and set a password if prompted. Then use that email and password to sign in on your phone. HoYoverse’s PlayStation account guidance, updated August 26, 2025, describes this route for accessing a PlayStation-linked account on other devices.
PSN linking has eligibility rules. HoYoverse’s Genshin-specific cross-save notice from July 9, 2021, describes restrictions that include not linking an already-used PSN game account to an email already associated with a different HoYoverse account. Because that notice is older than the current Help Center guidance, follow the current in-game prompts and contact HoYoverse support if your situation does not match the available linking options. On PlayStation, the PSN account region determines the game server, so account and server selection should be checked together.

- Login method: Google sign-in and email-and-password sign-in are distinct methods, even if they use the same email address. Apple ID and Game Center are also separate login methods. Confirm which method was used for the account holding the save.
- Server: Verify that the phone is using the server on which the existing progress was created. A different server can show a separate, empty game state.
- Account identity: Do not assume that a familiar email address guarantees the right account. HoYoverse’s device-change guidance, updated September 9, 2025, advises checking the actual account or linked login rather than treating different sign-in methods as interchangeable.
- Platform-linked login: HoYoverse notes that Apple- or Game Center-linked accounts may be accessible only on iOS devices or through the Account Center, while Google third-party login accounts created on Android may not be accessible on iOS or through the Account Center. If your account uses one of these methods, check the current options in the Account Center or ask HoYoverse support about your specific account.
HoYoverse’s progress-reset troubleshooting guidance, updated August 26, 2025, also points players to verify their login method and server before concluding that progress has been lost. If both are correct and the save still does not appear, check the account in User Center or the HoYoverse Account Center, then contact HoYoverse support.
