The fix depends on what you mean by “end screen.” If it is a YouTube overlay on a video or archive you control, remove its elements in YouTube Studio under Content → video → Editor → End screen. If it is part of the footage in a 24/7 stream, edit the source clips before they enter the live feed. Viewers can use Hide to dismiss an end screen for the current video, but not turn them off permanently.
First identify which kind of end screen you are seeing
“End screen” can refer to three different things, and each has a different fix:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- YouTube end-screen elements: YouTube overlays creator-added items such as video recommendations or subscribe prompts near the end of an eligible video. The channel owner can manage these in Studio.
- An outro baked into the video: A branded card, credits, or blank ending that appears in the footage itself. It is not a YouTube overlay; edit or trim the video source.
- A viewer-side end screen: If you are watching someone else’s video, use YouTube’s Hide control when available. It dismisses the end screen for that video and viewing session, not for every video in the future, as YouTube Creator Liaison Rene Ritchie explained in a YouTube Official Blog post.
A “loop” can also mean a single video or playlist repeating in an embedded player. The documented loop parameter applies to playback in that player; it is not a setting for suppressing end screens in a separate live broadcast. YouTube’s player parameter documentation and live-stream guidance describe different workflows for embedded playback and encoder-sent live content.

- Open YouTube Studio and select Content.
- Select the video or stream archive that has the unwanted overlay.
- Open Editor, then choose End screen.
- Use the delete control beside each element you want to remove. You can also adjust when elements appear, within the available end-screen window.
- Save and check the video in the same viewing context where you noticed the issue. Appearance can vary by device or playback context, so do not rely on the editor preview alone.
YouTube says end screens can appear in the last 5–20 seconds of an eligible video, and the video must be at least 25 seconds long. See YouTube’s end-screen instructions for current eligibility and editor details.

Stop clip endings appearing in a continuous live feed
If a live encoder or cloud playlist is sending a sequence of prerecorded clips, YouTube receives that sequence as a live feed. The documented player loop setting does not remove the endings from those clips, and YouTube’s cited guidance does not describe a global switch to disable end screens between clips in a creator-operated broadcast.
- Locate the original clips used by the feed or playlist.
- Remove, shorten, or replace the unwanted outro or end card in each source file before it is queued for the live sequence.
- Update the playlist or encoder sequence with the edited versions, then inspect the transition between clips in the outgoing feed.
This solves a baked-in visual ending. If what appears is instead a YouTube overlay on a stream archive, check whether that individual archive has an Editor → End screen control in Studio.

Edit an archive only when the relevant editor is available
YouTube says it automatically archives many streams shorter than 12 hours, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured. An archive is a video, but YouTube’s archive documentation does not guarantee that every live archive exposes the end-screen editor. Open the individual archive in Studio and verify which controls it offers. See YouTube’s live archive help and its end-screen instructions.

If the ending is part of the footage, YouTube says eligible videos can be trimmed in Studio; check the current interface and eligibility before relying on an archive edit. Its trim instructions note that, as of June 2025, saved Studio Editor changes could not be undone with “Revert to original.” Keep a local copy of the source and review the edit before saving.

What does not remove an end screen
- Looping an embedded player: The documented parameter repeats a video or playlist in the embedded player; it does not provide a control for a separate live broadcast’s overlays.
- Live DVR: DVR controls pausing and seeking during a live stream. It is not an end-screen setting. See YouTube’s DVR help.
- Changing the broadcast loop alone: If the ending is in the source footage, changing how clips repeat will not remove those pixels. Edit the clip or sequence first.
Troubleshooting by symptom
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Video suggestions or a subscribe prompt over the final seconds | YouTube end-screen elements | If you own the video, delete or retime the elements in Studio’s End screen editor. If you are a viewer, use Hide when available. |
| A branded outro or blank section between clips | The ending is part of the video footage | Edit or trim the source clip, then replace it in the live sequence. |
| An archive has no End screen option in Studio | The editor may not be available for that particular archive | Verify the archive’s available controls. If it is an in-footage ending, work from the source instead. |
| The overlay appears differently on another device | Viewer display can vary by playback context | Save the change and review the video in the context where the problem was reported. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a 24/7 prerecorded YouTube playlist, StreamNeo keeps it running from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. Upload your video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos; it does not broadcast from a camera. Prepare clips without unwanted visual outros before uploading, since cloud looping does not edit the footage.
