Use a cloud streaming service to send prerecorded video to YouTube Live. It runs the encoder remotely, so your computer can be off; the cloud service still needs its own connection to YouTube. First confirm your channel is eligible, protect its stream key, and test the stream before relying on it.
What you need before starting
- Your YouTube channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16, according to YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- A cloud service that explicitly supports continuous prerecorded-video streaming to YouTube. YouTube’s encoder documentation describes this category and names Gyre, but does not establish its current availability in India, price, service limits, or uptime: YouTube encoder streaming instructions.
- A video or playlist that you have the rights to stream. YouTube’s copyright and monetization rules still apply to prerecorded material; a 24/7 loop does not make unlicensed music or video permissible.
- The stream URL and stream key from YouTube Live Control Room. The key is sensitive: it directs the encoder feed to your channel, so treat it like a password.
Set up the YouTube stream
- Sign in to YouTube and open Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream, then copy the server URL and stream key shown for the stream. YouTube’s encoder workflow is documented at Set up your encoder.
- Choose a cloud service that supports prerecorded video looping and continuous streaming specifically to YouTube. Confirm with the provider that it accepts customers in India and supports your intended formats, duration, restart behavior, and content.
- Upload a video or build a playlist in the service, then add YouTube as the destination and enter the server URL and stream key. Use RTMPS if the service supports it; copy the exact secure server URL from Live Control Room. YouTube explains that RTMPS is RTMP over TLS/SSL in its RTMPS guidance.
- Preview the feed before making it public. Check that picture and sound are correct, the stream stays connected, and the service is looping the intended item or playlist.
- Monitor the stream after launch and check the provider’s controls for reconnects, alerts, and restart behavior. Test any backup encoder or failover arrangement rather than assuming it works.
Choose a service carefully in India
Cloud services differ, and YouTube’s documentation does not verify a provider’s India availability, price, reliability, or contractual terms. Before committing, confirm these details directly with the provider:
- Whether it accepts customers in India and supports your YouTube account and content.
- Supported file formats, playlist behavior, maximum stream duration, and output quality.
- Whether it automatically reconnects or restarts after YouTube or the provider loses the connection, and whether it provides alerts.
- Storage limits, concurrent-stream limits, archive or VOD workflow, support availability, price, and cancellation terms.

Plan around connection failures and archives
Keep bandwidth and monitoring in mind
YouTube warns that insufficient upload bandwidth or network disruption can interrupt a live stream. A cloud service removes your home computer and home connection from the stream path, but it cannot eliminate interruptions between the provider and YouTube. YouTube recommends leaving bandwidth headroom, previewing the feed, and monitoring stream quality; see its live streaming tips.

Do not assume a 24-hour broadcast will be fully archived
YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish that one broadcast lasting longer than 12 hours will be saved in full. If a complete archive matters, confirm current YouTube behavior and consider scheduling shorter sessions rather than relying on a single uninterrupted 24/7 stream.

Troubleshooting
YouTube does not accept the stream
Check that the channel is eligible for live streaming, that the stream is active in Live Control Room, and that the service has the correct server URL and key. If the key may have been exposed or copied incorrectly, reset it in Live Control Room and update the destination settings.
The stream disconnects or playback stalls
Check the provider’s service status and connection controls, then review YouTube’s stream preview and quality indicators. Ask the provider whether automatic reconnect and restart are enabled; these behaviors are not guaranteed by YouTube’s encoder documentation.

The video plays but has no sound or loops the wrong item
Recheck the uploaded file, its audio track, and the playlist order in the cloud service. Preview the actual YouTube feed before depending on the broadcast.
The full broadcast is missing from archives
Do not assume a stream longer than 12 hours will be archived in full. If you need a complete saved version, plan shorter broadcasts and verify current archiving behavior with YouTube before launch.
