Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor one video in OBS, add a Media Source and enable Loop. For several videos, use VLC Video, add the files to its playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. Then check what each source does when playback ends or the source is hidden, and test the actual transition in OBS and on YouTube. Looping repeats playback; OBS does not document a guarantee of gapless transitions.
First find out where the picture disappears
Watch OBS’s program output and the YouTube player at the same video boundary. This separates a playback problem from a delivery problem.

- OBS output goes black: inspect the source type, playlist entries and order, active scene, source visibility, and end-of-playback settings.
- OBS stays visible but YouTube goes black or stops: check the encoder’s stream status, messages in YouTube Live Control Room, upload bandwidth, and connection stability.
These checks follow the distinction between OBS’s source playback controls and YouTube’s advice to preview and monitor a live stream. A network fix will not make a local source produce an image if it has ended.
Choose the right OBS source for your videos
| What you want to play | OBS source | Loop control | Check |
|---|---|---|---|
| One local video, repeated | Media Source | Loop | Inspect Show nothing when playback ends, then test the restart boundary. |
| Several local videos, one after another | VLC Video | Loop Playlist | Confirm VLC is installed, playlist files play, and visibility behavior suits your scene setup. |
OBS Project’s Media Sources documentation describes Loop as replaying a file after it completes and Loop Playlist as restarting the VLC source after it runs out of media files. These controls make playback repeat; the documentation does not promise frame-perfect or gapless changes between files.

With the connection, this HDMI to USB C/3.0 video capture devices can be working on several Operating Systems and various software: Windows 7/ 8/ 10, Mac OS or above, Linux, Android, Laptop, Xbox One, PS3/PS4/PS5, Camera, DVDs, Set Top Box, Webcame, DSLR, Switch/Switch 2, TV BOX, HDTV, Potplayer/VLC, ZOOM, OBS Studio etc.
- 【Package Content & Note】 1x HD Audio Capture Card , 1x USB 3.0 to USB C Adapter (A-side 3.0, B-side 2.0), 1x user manual. Please note that you need to restart the OBS Studio software after the audio setup is complete, otherwise it will result in no sound output. When using an adapter, if the device is recognized as USB 2.0, try using the other side with the USB-C port. Simply flip the capture card and reconnect it to be recognized as USB 3.0
Set up a single repeating video
- In OBS, select the scene that should carry the nature stream.
- In the Sources panel, choose + and add a Media Source. Create a new source or select an existing one.
- In the source properties, choose the local video file and enable Loop.
- Check Show nothing when playback ends. OBS describes this option as hiding the source once the file completes. If the file does not restart as expected, or another event ends playback, hiding it can leave the scene with no visible picture.
- Confirm the source is visible in the active scene and that its playback looks right in the OBS program output.
Test the end-to-start boundary rather than assuming the preview at the beginning represents the whole loop. If a black interval appears in OBS itself, troubleshoot the media source and scene before changing YouTube settings.
Set up a playlist of videos
- Install VLC before adding the source. OBS documents that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC; a mismatched installation can prevent VLC Video from being available.
- In the scene’s Sources panel, choose + and add VLC Video.
- Add the nature clips to the source’s playlist and confirm that each entry points to a file that is available to the computer running OBS.
- Enable Loop Playlist so the VLC source starts over after it runs out of media files.
- Review the source’s Visibility Behaviour. Choose a setting consistent with whether playback should continue when the source is hidden, for example when another scene is active.
- Play through the final clip into the first clip. Check the OBS program output and the YouTube player, not just the source properties.
Loop Playlist and Media Source’s Loop are controls for different source types. Use VLC Video for a multi-file playlist rather than expecting a single Media Source to manage a playlist.

Test the transition before leaving the stream unattended
Run a representative test that includes the last-to-first boundary for a loop and, for a playlist, the transitions between clips. Watch both the OBS output and YouTube’s player. YouTube Help advises creators to test before starting and monitor stream health and messages during the broadcast; its surfaced guidance does not state a publication date.
Recommended Free Tools
- If OBS turns black at a file boundary, revisit the playlist order, file availability, source visibility, and end-of-playback behavior.
- If OBS remains correct but the remote player does not, inspect stream health and the encoder and network path.
- Do not treat a successful preview of one transition as proof that every file boundary behaves the same way.
When the OBS picture is good but YouTube is not
Check that the upload connection can sustain the selected stream bitrate. YouTube recommends 20% upload-bandwidth headroom in its streaming tips; that is guidance for delivery capacity, not a setting that fixes a source that has gone blank. The page does not state a publication year. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

- 【What You Get】Includes: HDMI Capture Card, USB 3.0 to USB-C Adapter, User Manual. Tips: Make sure your tablet’s OTG function is enabled before connecting. Test your HDMI device with a monitor first to confirm video and audio output, then connect to the Video Capture Card for recording.
Also check the encoder’s stream status and YouTube Live Control Room messages, and test the configured output rather than treating one bitrate as a universal remedy. YouTube’s recommended bitrate ranges depend on codec, resolution, and frame rate and can change; consult its live encoder settings guidance for the selected configuration. YouTube also recommends RTMPS where supported. These delivery checks address a healthy local image that fails remotely; they do not replace fixing an OBS source that emits no picture.
