“Crazy Craft” is not one interchangeable download. Treat each distribution as a different game profile with its own Minecraft version, Forge build, mods and configuration. Selecting the edition first prevents the most common installation failure: uploading one release’s files while players launch another.

Official Crazy Craft 4.0/version 4.2
VoidLauncher’s page identifies Crazy Craft 4.0 as version 4.2 for Minecraft 1.7.10. The page lists 88 mods, multiplayer support, and separate downloads for the launcher and server pack. The server pack is the file intended for a dedicated server; the client launcher package is not a substitute for it.
#1 Best Overall
Use the files from the official VoidLauncher distribution rather than a re-upload on another launcher. VoidLauncher warns that re-uploads can provide the wrong version and leave its support team unable to help. Its published statement says: “Please alert us of any reuploading of our mod pack to any launcher outside the void launcher. This includes Technic, curseforge and others. We do not want players get wrong versions of the pack and us being unable to help them.”
Crazy Craft Updated
Crazy Craft Updated is not an official port of the original pack. Its project page lists Forge, Minecraft 1.16.5 as the main game version and 1.12.2 as another available version. Release 0.13.3 is dated September 20, 2026, and the page describes the project as beta software in the 0.x.x series. The page reports 4,468,415 downloads on CurseForge in 2026.

A quick selection rule
- Choose Crazy Craft 4.0/version 4.2 if your group specifically wants the official VoidLauncher pack on Minecraft 1.7.10.
- Choose Crazy Craft Updated if you want its separate 1.16.5 Forge project (or its listed 1.12.2 option) and accept that it is unofficial and beta.
- Write the chosen Minecraft version, Forge version and pack release in your server notes before downloading anything.
Prepare the machine, host and player profiles
Server-side prerequisites
You need a machine or hosting plan that can run a Forge server, enough storage for the extracted pack, permission to upload or execute files, and a way for players to reach the server after it starts. The supplied installation material does not establish a universal RAM minimum for either edition. Allocate memory appropriate to the pack, your operating system and the number of players instead of applying an invented one-size-fits-all number.
Use the Java version required by the selected Minecraft and Forge release and by your host’s current instructions. Because requirements vary by edition and Forge build, confirm them against that release’s documentation rather than assuming a Java version from a different pack.
Keep client and server identities identical
Before anyone connects, record these four values:
- Minecraft version, such as 1.7.10 or 1.16.5.
- Forge or other modloader family and its build.
- Crazy Craft edition and exact release.
- Any required configuration or profile files distributed with the pack.
Every player must install the same values. CurseForge explains that a mod and profile using different Minecraft versions are incompatible, and that the mod and profile must use the same modloader; an incompatible profile cannot be selected. A 1.7.10 client will not join a 1.16.5 server, even if both are called Crazy Craft.

Separate the server from your client profile
Create a dedicated server directory, separate from the launcher’s client instance. This prevents client-only files, screenshots, saves and launcher metadata from being uploaded accidentally. It also makes backups and version changes reversible.
Install Crazy Craft through a managed hosting panel
Hosting panels differ, but the reliable sequence is the same: check for a built-in modpack installer first; if the exact pack is not listed, deploy the official server pack as a custom Forge installation. Shockbyte’s Crazy Craft/Voids Wrath guide, published October 26, 2024, documents the following process.
1. Check the host’s modpack installer
Open the host’s modpack or server-type installer and search for the exact Crazy Craft edition and release. Do not select a similarly named pack or a different Minecraft version. If the precise release is available, the panel may install its files and startup settings automatically; read the panel’s confirmation carefully before replacing an existing world.
2. Obtain the official server pack
If the panel does not list the pack, open the official project page for the edition you selected and choose Download the Server Pack. Save the ZIP locally and keep it identified with the Minecraft version and release number. Do not upload the client launcher ZIP as a server.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed

3. Extract into a clean folder
Extract the ZIP into its own empty folder. Uploading a ZIP without checking its contents can leave an extra top-level directory in the wrong location or hide missing files. You should be able to see the Forge server JAR and the pack’s folders, including libraries when the distribution supplies them.
4. Apply the host’s custom-JAR naming rule
In Shockbyte’s documented workflow, rename forge-XXX-universal.jar (where XXX is the build number in the downloaded pack) to custom.jar. This name is a Shockbyte panel requirement, not a universal Forge rule. On another host, retain the supplied filename unless that host explicitly requires a different custom-JAR name.
5. Restore Forge libraries if they are absent
Inspect the extracted folder. Shockbyte notes that, in some cases, you must run the Forge Installer first so the required library files are downloaded and installed. If the libraries directory is missing, run the installer supplied for that Forge build on a machine where it can write files, then verify that the directory and its contents exist before uploading. Do not compensate for missing libraries by mixing files from another Crazy Craft release.
6. Handle startup scripts according to the host
Shockbyte’s guide instructs users to remove extracted .bat and .sh files because that host does not need them. Those scripts can be useful on a self-hosted machine or another panel. Delete them only when your host’s instructions say they are unnecessary; otherwise, preserve them and follow the supplied startup command.

- The classic UNO card game builds fun on game night with a Minecraft theme.
- UNO Minecraft features a deck and storage tin decorated with graphics from the popular video game.
- Players match colors and numbers to the card on top of the discard pile as in the classic game.
- The Creeper card unique to this deck forces other players to draw 3 cards.
- Makes a great gift for kid, teen, adult and family game nights with 2 to 10 players ages 7 years and older, especially Minecraft and video game fans.
7. Upload and select the server type
- Stop the existing server and make a backup of its current world and configuration.
- Upload the extracted server-pack contents, not an additional enclosing folder, into the host’s server directory.
- In the panel, choose Custom JAR (or the panel’s equivalent) and select the required JAR name, such as
custom.jaron Shockbyte. - Save the setting and start the server.
Watch the console during the first launch. Forge may create configuration files, libraries or a world directory. Stop and correct a file or Java error before inviting players; changing firewall settings cannot repair a server that failed to load its mods.
8. Use the host’s own Java and support guidance
For a host other than Shockbyte, preserve the principle rather than copying panel-specific actions. Follow that provider’s Java selector, startup command, file-permission rules and supported custom-JAR procedure. Do not blindly rename the Forge JAR or remove scripts simply because those steps were required by one panel.
Install on a self-hosted Windows or Linux machine
1. Download the matching server pack
From the official page for your selected edition, download the server pack for the exact release. Create a new directory dedicated to that server and extract the pack there. Keep the client profile in a different directory.
2. Confirm Forge files and libraries
Look for the Forge server JAR, the pack’s mods and configuration folders, and the libraries directory when included. If the libraries directory is absent, run the Forge Installer for that exact Forge build as the Shockbyte guide describes, then return to the server directory and verify the files were created. Never fill the directory with libraries copied from another Minecraft version.
3. Perform the first Forge start
Run the server using the startup command supplied with the pack or by the Forge installer for your operating system. The first run normally creates the server configuration and an EULA file before the server can complete startup. Do not repeatedly launch a partially configured server while troubleshooting; read the console output and let the first run finish as far as it can.
4. Read and accept the EULA
Open the generated eula.txt, read Mojang’s EULA, and change the value to eula=true only if you agree to it. Save the file, then run the same supplied startup command again. The server can generate its world and complete Forge initialization only after this step.
5. Set memory deliberately
Use the startup script’s memory settings to give the pack an amount your machine can sustain while leaving memory for the operating system and other services. The available material does not publish a universal minimum or maximum, so monitor startup behavior and system memory rather than copying a number from an unrelated modpack. Increase allocation only when logs and system monitoring show that memory is the limiting factor.

6. Test locally before exposing the port
Let the server reach a clean running state, then connect from the same machine or local network with a matching client. Read the console for the first missing mod, dependency or Java error. Only after the server loads successfully should you configure firewall rules, router port forwarding or a public address. Connectivity settings cannot fix a Forge load failure.

Official 1.7.10 profile
Players joining Crazy Craft 4.0/version 4.2 should install the official VoidLauncher profile for that pack, select Minecraft 1.7.10 and let the launcher install its required Forge and mods. They should not substitute a re-upload from another launcher, because the official project warns that reuploads can contain wrong versions.
Crazy Craft Updated profile
Players using Crazy Craft Updated should install the same release shown on its CurseForge project page, selecting the corresponding Minecraft version (normally 1.16.5 for the main release) and Forge loader. If a player chooses the listed 1.12.2 variant, the server must also run that exact 1.12.2 release; it cannot connect to the 1.16.5 server.
Verify before distributing the address
- Open the client profile’s details and confirm the Minecraft version.
- Confirm the loader is Forge and the build matches the server’s Forge build.
- Confirm the Crazy Craft release number matches the server pack.
- Do not add, remove or update individual mods unless the pack’s instructions explicitly require it.
- Launch once to the title screen before attempting multiplayer, so missing downloads are discovered locally.
Check that the server is actually ready
A successful process launch is not the same as a usable modded server. Use this order:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Read the console from the beginning of the latest start and identify the first error, not the final cascade of messages.
- Confirm Forge reaches a running state without a missing dependency or mod exception.
- Confirm the world directory and configuration files are created after the EULA step.
- Join with one client whose version, loader and pack release were checked against the server.
- Test a simple action in the world, then stop the server cleanly and make the first known-good backup.
If local joining works but an outside player cannot connect, investigate the firewall, router forwarding, address and port. Do this only after the mod loader has started cleanly.

“Incompatible modded server” or version mismatch
Compare the client and server Minecraft versions character for character. Then compare Forge builds and the Crazy Craft release. A 1.7.10 client, a 1.16.5 server and a 1.12.2 profile are three different environments. Reinstall the client profile or redeploy the server pack when the values do not match; changing one individual mod rarely fixes a pack-level mismatch.
Missing mod or dependency during startup
Stop the server and read the first missing mod, dependency or version named in the console. Re-download the complete server pack for the intended edition if files were mixed or deleted. Do not copy a similarly named JAR from another release. After restoring the pack, start again and check the first error in the new log.
Best Value
The libraries directory is missing
Run the Forge Installer for the exact Forge build, as the Shockbyte instructions advise, and verify that it downloads the required libraries. If your host does not permit installers, run the installer in a local staging directory and upload the resulting complete folder according to the host’s custom-JAR procedure.
The panel cannot find the JAR
Check whether the host requires custom.jar or another filename. On Shockbyte, the documented action is to rename forge-XXX-universal.jar to custom.jar and select Custom JAR. On another host, restore the original filename if its documentation expects it. Also confirm that the JAR is in the server root rather than inside a second extracted folder.
The server stops immediately after launch
Read the console for Java, permission, EULA, missing-library or dependency errors. Confirm that eula=true was saved after reading the EULA, that the process can write to its directory, and that the startup command points to the intended Forge JAR. Do not troubleshoot port forwarding until the process stays running.
Players time out, but the console is clean
Once the server has loaded all mods successfully, check the operating-system firewall, router port forwarding and the address players are using. Test from the local network first when possible. A network problem cannot be repaired by changing Forge or mod versions, so keep the known-good installation unchanged while testing connectivity.
Different players report different crashes
Have each player capture the first error in the client log and compare their profile details with the server record. Common causes are a different Minecraft version, a different Forge build, an unofficial re-upload, or a manually added or removed mod. Reinstalling the exact shared profile is safer than trying to repair a profile piecemeal.
Choose between managed hosting and self-hosting
| Consideration | Managed panel | Self-hosted machine |
|---|---|---|
| Initial deployment | Panel installer may automate a listed pack; otherwise upload the server pack and select the custom-JAR mode. | You download, extract, stage Forge libraries and run the supplied startup command yourself. |
| File control | Panel naming and upload rules apply; a provider may require a name such as custom.jar. |
You control filenames, scripts, directory layout and update timing. |
| Maintenance burden | The provider supplies panel operations and may provide support, but you still manage pack versions, backups and logs. | You maintain Java, permissions, backups, firewall rules, port forwarding and log collection. |
| Updating | Use the panel’s exact pack installer or replace files manually according to its procedure. | Stop the server, back up the world and configuration, then stage the new server pack separately before switching. |
| Networking | The host generally supplies the address and network service; verify its port and firewall rules. | You expose and protect the server port on the machine and router after the server starts cleanly. |
A managed panel reduces operating-system and networking work but imposes provider-specific file rules. Self-hosting gives complete control and avoids panel naming constraints, while making you responsible for every Java, backup, firewall and recovery task.
Update or roll back without mixing editions
Stop the server before changing files and make a dated backup of the world, configuration and current server directory. Stage the replacement pack in a separate folder, verify its Minecraft version, Forge build and release number, and only then switch the startup target. Keep the previous folder until the new release has started and a player has completed a test connection.
Do not overwrite a 1.7.10 installation with 1.16.5 files, or place an Updated release’s mods into the official pack. Treat a release change as a separate deployment when the project’s instructions do not explicitly guarantee world or configuration compatibility. If the new server fails, restore the known-good folder and backup rather than deleting more files from the failed installation.
