To install ASUS Aura RGB software, download the Armoury Crate & Aura Creator installer from ASUS Support for your exact device, extract the ZIP, and run the included installer. Choose Armoury Crate for Aura Sync controls, Aura Creator for custom lighting profiles, or both. ASUS lists Windows 10 version 1903 or later and Windows 11 as supported for the installer.

Which ASUS lighting app should you install?

“ASUS Aura RGB software” can refer to several related tools, rather than one standalone application. Armoury Crate is ASUS’s centralized utility for supported devices and services, including lighting controls. Its Aura Sync features synchronize lighting across compatible devices. Aura Creator is an editor for making lighting effects and profiles to use through Aura Sync; it can also be installed on its own.

  • Armoury Crate: Choose this for Aura Sync and supported device configuration.
  • Aura Creator: Choose this to compose custom lighting effects. ASUS describes it as an advanced lighting-editing application for creating effects and patterns for ROG machines.
  • Both: Choose both if you want Armoury Crate’s controls as well as Aura Creator’s profile editor.

These apps do not guarantee support for every ASUS product or third-party RGB component. Check ASUS’s Aura Creator compatible-device list for your exact model; ASUS says the list is updated as software changes.

Check Windows and find the right installer

ASUS lists Windows 10 version 1903 or later and Windows 11 for its Armoury Crate & Aura Creator installer. Get the package from the ASUS support page for the specific PC, motherboard, or other device you want to control. This helps you confirm the package and support information for that model. Some new ROG and TUF systems may already have Armoury Crate installed.
