Use CircuitLord’s official VR Mod Installer to install, update, launch, or remove the mod. It places the VR setup in a separate TF2VR profile, while ordinary Titanfall 2 launches remain unmodded. VR saves and settings are stored separately from the regular campaign. The steps below reflect the project documentation and release page available on October 4, 2026.
Before you install
- You need Titanfall 2 installed through Steam, EA, or Xbox, plus a PC VR headset and an active PC VR runtime such as SteamVR. The project does not publish a model-specific headset compatibility list or minimum PC specification.
- Titanfall 2 requires the EA app and an account signed in there. The installer checks for the app; if it is missing, the README says to launch Titanfall 2 once so the app can be installed.
- Close the game and use CircuitLord’s official installer project and its current release. The project identifies the installer as a community project, not affiliated with or endorsed by the game’s developers or publishers, and says to use it at your own risk.
The official releases page listed installer v1.2.8, published October 3, 2026, as the latest release when checked October 4, 2026. Check the live releases page for later versions and current instructions.

Install the VR mod
- Download and open the current installer from CircuitLord’s official project or releases page.
- Follow the installer’s prompts to locate your Titanfall 2 installation. The README says it can find installations from Steam, EA, or Xbox.
- Allow the installer to check for the EA app. If it is not installed, launch Titanfall 2 once as directed by the README, then return to the installer.
- Use the installer’s install action to set up Northstar and the mod in the game directory’s separate
TF2VRprofile. The installer documents checking a manifest of download URLs and SHA-256 hashes against installed files when it offers install or update actions. That is the project’s described integrity check, not an independent security audit of the mod.
The installer source is MIT-licensed; the mod itself is closed source and is not covered by that license. Neither fact establishes that the mod code has been independently audited.

- Start SteamVR or your chosen PC VR runtime and make sure the headset is active.
- Use the installer’s Launch in VR button to start the VR version.
The README describes stereo rendering, full-body inverse kinematics, manual reloads, and Titan controls. Its target is Titanfall 2’s campaign. Ordinary game launches are described as remaining unmodded; use the installer to start VR play.

Understand the scope and movement before playing
Road to VR reported on October 2, 2026, that the conversion supports the single-player campaign at present. Titanfall 2’s wall-running, double jumps, sliding, grapple movement, and rapid transitions can feel intense in VR. Snap turning is available, but it cannot guarantee comfort or prevent motion sickness. Stop playing if you feel unwell rather than trying to push through symptoms.
Keep VR saves separate from the regular campaign
VR launches use their own saves and settings at %LOCALAPPDATA%RespawnTitanfall2_VR, separate from the regular campaign location. The installer’s Campaign saves button opens or checks the VR save location. This separation is intended to leave the ordinary campaign untouched.

Uninstall safely
The README says each install records the files it wrote in the game folder. It says updates remove files shipped by the previous version but not the new one, and uninstall removes exactly the recorded files. These are the project’s documented behaviors, not independently verified guarantees.
- Open the current installer and use its uninstall control, following the instructions shown in the interface. The reviewed README does not specify button-by-button uninstall steps, so rely on the current interface rather than deleting files by guesswork.
- Do not manually remove unrelated files from the Titanfall 2 directory. The project says its uninstall action removes the files recorded for that install.
- If you want to remove VR saves or settings as well, first review the contents of
%LOCALAPPDATA%RespawnTitanfall2_VR. The README identifies this as the VR save/settings location and the installer’s Campaign saves button can open or check it; do not confuse it with the regular campaign’s data.
Check version-specific launch warnings
Release notes can change how the installer handles conflicts and permissions. For example, v1.2.6, published October 1, 2026, stops launch when another mod has replaced dxgi.dll or d3d11.dll. Version 1.2.3 added an administrator request for game installations under Program Files and explained OpenXR launch failures. These notes apply to those versions; check the current release page before changing files or permissions.
