Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →To install an AMD graphics driver, identify your Radeon graphics model and Windows version, download the matching package from AMD or your computer manufacturer, and run its installer. Then configure the monitor separately in Settings > System > Display. There is no universal “AMD monitor driver”: the AMD package is for the PC’s graphics adapter.
Before you install: identify the graphics adapter and Windows version
Check the exact Radeon graphics model and whether Windows 10 is 64-bit. On a laptop or all-in-one, also note the computer’s manufacturer and model; its support page may provide a driver validated for system-specific features.

AMD offers two ways to find a package: its Auto-Detect and Install tool checks compatible AMD products and the Windows version, while the manual product selector lets you search for your graphics product. If the detector does not identify your hardware, use the exact model to search manually or check the computer maker’s support page.
Check that the selected driver supports your PC
Compatibility depends on both the Radeon product and the individual driver release. AMD’s general installation guide lists Windows 10 64-bit version 1809 and later for compatible Radeon graphics. That broad requirement is not a guarantee that every package supports every Radeon model or Windows 10 version.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
For example, AMD’s Adrenalin 26.5.2 release notes, last updated May 14, 2026, list Windows 10 64-bit version 21H2 and later. Check the product compatibility list and operating-system requirements for the specific package you plan to install.
For an OEM laptop or all-in-one, the manufacturer’s package may be preferable when a generic AMD driver lacks a system-specific feature or causes compatibility problems. AMD notes that OEM drivers can be customized and validated for particular systems.

Install the AMD graphics driver
- Download the matching package. Start from AMD Drivers and Support and use Auto-Detect or the manual product selector. For a branded laptop or all-in-one, also check the manufacturer’s support page.
- Run the downloaded installer. Allow setup files to unpack, then let AMD Software Installer check the system. Review the license terms and accept them only if you agree.
- Choose an installation type. Select Accept & Express Install for the standard installation. If you want to choose components, open Additional Options and select an available type: Default includes AMD software features and controls; Minimal provides basic controls without advanced performance-tuning and capture features; Driver Only installs the driver without the AMD Software user interface.
- Use Factory Reset only if you intend to remove the previous AMD Software version. AMD says Factory Reset removes prior versions and prevents rolling back to the previously installed drivers.
- Wait for installation to finish. A brief screen flicker while the driver is applied is normal. Close the installer when it reports completion.
Configure the monitor in Windows
Driver installation and monitor configuration are separate tasks. Once the display is connected, open Settings > System > Display, select the monitor you want to configure, and choose the resolution marked Recommended for a typical setup. Microsoft’s display settings guidance explains how to change resolution and layout.
For multiple screens, choose Duplicate to show the same image on both or Extend to use them as one larger desktop. If a connected display is missing from the list, go to Multiple displays > Detect, as described in Microsoft’s multi-monitor instructions.

Fix common installation and display problems
The installer says the hardware is unsupported or does not detect AMD graphics
Recheck the exact graphics model and Windows version against the selected package’s compatibility list. Try AMD’s manual product selector or the computer manufacturer’s support page. AMD documents separate installer errors for unsupported hardware and for no AMD graphics hardware being detected in its installation troubleshooting guidance.
The installer is blocked by Windows Update or a pending restart
AMD lists errors for an update in progress or a pending Windows Update installation. Let Windows Update finish; if the installer reports a pending installation, restart Windows and try again.

A laptop or all-in-one has problems with the generic AMD package
Try the driver offered by the computer’s manufacturer. OEM packages can include validation or support for system-specific features that a general package may not provide.
A multi-monitor setup exceeds the available connections
Supported display counts and connection types vary by graphics-card model and board design. Some configurations may require DisplayPort-ready monitors or a DisplayPort 1.2 MST-enabled hub; these are conditional connection requirements, not prerequisites for installing the driver.

Microsoft ended Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025. Its end-of-support notice says free software updates through Windows Update, technical assistance, and security fixes for Windows 10 ended on that date. Installing a graphics driver does not restore Windows servicing.
