What you are installing
Alloc’s Server Fixes provide command extensions, shared functions, and the web and map service that other tools use. CPM (the CSMM Patron Mod) adds server-management commands and integrates with Alloc’s web functionality. CSMM documentation describes Alloc’s Fixes as mandatory because CSMM depends on that API.
| Component | Purpose | Where it belongs |
|---|---|---|
Allocs_CommandExtensions |
Additional server commands and command hooks | Directly inside the server’s Mods/ directory |
Allocs_CommonFunc |
Shared functions used by the Alloc’s components | Directly inside Mods/ |
Allocs_WebAndMapRendering |
Web dashboard, map rendering, and web-server assets | Directly inside Mods/ |
1CSMM_Patrons |
CPM commands and CSMM integration | Directly inside Mods/ |
Folder names can differ slightly between releases, and the names shown by version can change. The important rule is that every extracted mod directory containing its own ModInfo.xml and DLL files must be an immediate child of Mods/.

Prepare the server and record its branch
Identify the exact game version
Before downloading anything, record the branch shown by your host panel or startup configuration: stable, experimental, or a numbered branch. A package built for one branch is not automatically compatible with another. Compatibility changes as 7 Days to Die updates, so match both Alloc’s and CPM releases to the branch actually running on the server.
Stop cleanly and make backups
- Use the host panel’s stop action or send the normal shutdown command through the console/RCON.
- Wait until the process has exited and the panel reports the server as stopped. Do not replace DLLs while the server is running.
- Copy the complete
Mods/directory to a safe location. - Back up the world save, player data, and relevant configuration files, especially
serverconfig.xmlandserveradmin.xml.
CSMM’s useful-scripts documentation gives the practical rule: turn off the server before updating to prevent data loss. A backup lets you restore the previous mod set if a release is incompatible.

Download and extract the archive
Obtain an Alloc’s Server Fixes archive from the project’s official distribution path or a trusted host guide, and choose the release that states compatibility with your server branch. Do not upload the compressed archive and assume the server will unpack it; extract it first, either locally and upload the resulting folders or with your host’s file manager.
Put the folders at the correct level
The resulting layout should look like this, with the server root represented by <server root>:
<server root>/Mods/ Allocs_CommandExtensions/ ModInfo.xml *.dll Allocs_CommonFunc/ ModInfo.xml *.dll Allocs_WebAndMapRendering/ ModInfo.xml *.dll
Some panels display the tree with indentation; the essential path is <server root>/Mods/Allocs_CommandExtensions/ModInfo.xml, not <server root>/Mods/Mods/Allocs_CommandExtensions/ModInfo.xml. The latter double-Mods nesting is a common reason the game reports no mod.
Server-side means no client installation
Alloc’s Fixes are server-side. Players do not install them in their local game folders, and you do not need to install them on your own PC merely to administer the server. Only the dedicated server’s files need changing. Clients still need a normal, compatible game build to connect.

- Explore – Huge, rich environments, with unique biomes and worlds up to 100 square kilometres in size.
- Craft – Handcraft and repair weapons, clothes, armour, tools, vehicles, with hundreds of recipes and schematics.
- Build – Design your fort with traps, electricity, auto turrets, and gadgets to survive in a fully destructible and mouldable world.
- Cooperate or Compete – Work together to build settlements or against each other in a wasteland where zombies and outlaws rule the land.
- Farm or Hunt – Plant gardens for sustainable resources or head out to the wilderness and hunt over a dozen unique animals.
Check each extracted directory
- Open every Alloc’s directory and confirm that
ModInfo.xmlis present. - Confirm the DLL files were extracted rather than left inside another archive.
- Check that the directory names are not followed by an extra version folder, such as
Mods/AllocArchive-5.x/Allocs_CommonFunc. - Preserve the archive’s internal relative paths; do not merge files from separate components into one folder.
Start the server and verify Alloc’s before CPM
Use the version command
- Start the server with only Alloc’s installed.
- Open the live console or connect through RCON.
- Run
version. - Inspect the output for Alloc’s components and the required game dependencies.
CSMM’s example output includes entries such as Mod Allocs_Commands, Mod Allocs_Core, and Mod Allocs_Webinterface; component labels and version numbers vary by release. Also confirm that the TFP dependencies for command and web functions are present: TFP_CommandExtensions, TFP_MapRendering, and TFP_WebServer. An Alpha 21.1 (b16) line sometimes shown in examples is only an example verification version, not a universal requirement.
Interpret a failed verification
If no Alloc’s entries appear, stop the server and inspect the path before trying CPM. Missing ModInfo.xml, missing DLLs, a nested Mods/Mods path, or an archive for a different game branch are more likely causes than a CPM configuration error. Fix Alloc’s and repeat the version check.
Enable and test the web dashboard and live map
Set the server configuration
Open serverconfig.xml and check the web settings used by your server build. XGamingServer’s documentation identifies these labels:
WebDashboardEnabled— enables the web dashboard.WebDashboardPort— selects the TCP port on which it listens.EnableMapRendering— enables map rendering.
Set the values according to your host’s syntax and branch, save the file, and restart the server. A setting can be correct in the file yet unreachable if the host firewall, router, or container does not expose the same port.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Open the dashboard
- Find the public server address and the configured dashboard port.
- Open that address and port in a browser using the dashboard URL supplied by your Alloc’s release.
- Where supported, try the
/legacymappath for the map page. - Sign in if authentication is enabled.
A login page, dashboard, or rendered map proves that the web component started and that the port is reachable. It does not by itself prove that CPM is installed; CPM is checked separately with cpm-help.
When the page is unreachable
- Confirm
WebDashboardEnabledandEnableMapRenderingare enabled. - Confirm the browser uses the exact
WebDashboardPortvalue. - Ask the host to open that port in its firewall or container networking, if you do not control those settings.
- Verify that you are using the server’s reachable IP address rather than a private LAN address.
- Check the server log for a port conflict or a web-module startup error.
Install CPM after Alloc’s works
Choose a compatible CPM release
Download a CPM release that explicitly supports the same game branch and Alloc’s generation you recorded earlier. If the game has just updated, read the CPM and Alloc’s release notes before replacing either package. Do not assume that the newest CPM archive supports an older branch.

Copy the CPM directory
- Stop the server again and make a fresh backup of the working Alloc’s installation.
- Extract the CPM archive.
- Copy the
1CSMM_Patronsdirectory directly into the server’sMods/directory. - Check that its
ModInfo.xmland DLL files are insideMods/1CSMM_Patrons/.
Do not create Mods/CPM/1CSMM_Patrons or Mods/Mods/1CSMM_Patrons unless the release documentation explicitly specifies a different structure.
Apply the CPM map asset when using the CSMM script
The CSMM installation script also moves a CPM-patched map.js into Allocs_WebAndMapRendering/webserver/js. If you are following that script-based installation, preserve this step; copying only 1CSMM_Patrons can leave the dashboard running while the CPM map features remain incomplete. Back up the existing JavaScript file before replacing it so you can restore it during rollback.
Confirm CPM commands
- Start the server and wait for the normal world-load sequence to finish.
- Run
cpm-helpin the console or through RCON. - Confirm that CPM help and command output are returned.
Starting with CPM 5.35, CPM-specific commands use the cpm- prefix. Older aliases may still work, but cpm-help is the clearest diagnostic on current installations. If the command is unknown, check the folder path, DLL extraction, branch compatibility, and startup log before changing permissions.
Configure permissions and web tokens securely
Limit web-module capabilities
Use serveradmin.xml to assign permission levels for the web modules. The exact level numbers depend on the server’s permission model, so grant only the minimum level required by each role. Map viewing, player-location data, inventory access, land-claim information, and command execution should not automatically be available to every administrator.
On a PvP server, exposing live player locations or inventories can reveal strategic information. Separate ordinary moderation from high-privilege command execution, and review permissions after adding a new staff member or automation tool.
Create a dedicated CSMM token
For CSMM access, create a named token from the server console with:

- Build - Take over a ruin, or build from the ground-up. Design your fortress to include traps and defensive positions to survive the undead - the world is fully destructible and moldable.
- Cooperate or Compete - Includes two player split screen mode, with additional online multiplayer modes and features to be revealed in the near future.
- Create - Unleash your creativity and build the ultimate world by yourself friends. Enjoy unlimited access to nearly 400 in-game items and 1,200 unique building blocks in creative mode.
- Improve - Increase your skills in a multitude of active and passive disciplines. 7 to Die is the only true survival RPG with nearly 50 multi-tiered skill and perk groups.
webtokens add <name> <token> 0
CSMM documents a minimum token length of 10 characters. Use a long, random value rather than a memorable word, keep it out of public configuration and screenshots, and remove generic default tokens that are not needed. Treat the token like a password: anyone who obtains it may gain the permissions assigned to that web role.
Test the least-privileged account
- Connect with the newly created token.
- Confirm that the account can perform the intended map or moderation task.
- Attempt an action it should not perform, such as command execution, and confirm it is denied.
- Record which permission level produced the expected result.
Use this troubleshooting order
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
No mods appear in version |
Double nesting, missing metadata, missing DLL, or incompatible archive | Stop the server; inspect Mods/ so each component is an immediate child with ModInfo.xml and DLL files; replace with a branch-matched archive. |
| Alloc’s entries appear but the map page is blank | Map rendering disabled, wrong URL, blocked port, or missing web asset | Check EnableMapRendering, use /legacymap where supported, verify the configured port and firewall, and inspect the webserver asset tree. |
| Dashboard does not open at all | Web dashboard disabled, port not exposed, wrong address, or port conflict | Check WebDashboardEnabled, WebDashboardPort, public IP, host firewall, and startup logs. |
cpm-help is unknown |
CPM failed to load or the wrong branch release was installed | Stop the server, verify Mods/1CSMM_Patrons, confirm DLL and metadata files, then install a compatible CPM build. |
| CPM worked before a game update and fails afterward | Alloc’s and CPM no longer match the new game branch | Back up the current files, read compatibility notes, and update Alloc’s and CPM together when required. |
| Map works but CSMM cannot connect | Invalid token, token shorter than 10 characters, insufficient permission, or blocked API port | Create a dedicated token with webtokens add, assign the required web permission, and verify network access without publishing the token. |
Updating without breaking the installation
Manual update sequence
- Record the current game branch, Alloc’s release, CPM release, configuration, and backup location.
- Stop the server cleanly.
- Back up
Mods/, save data, and configuration files. - Read the release notes for both mods and confirm support for the target game branch.
- Replace Alloc’s components first, keeping their direct-child folder structure.
- Replace CPM and reapply the patched
map.jsif your installation uses it. - Start the server and run
version. - Test the dashboard, map, and
cpm-helpbefore allowing players back in.
Automated and containerized installs
The documented Docker approach treats CPM as also installing Alloc’s Fixes. Its scripts select branch-specific Alloc’s archives, remove old Allocs* directories, and install the extracted components. The CPM script uses the latest GitHub release and requires jq. Automation is useful only when its selected branch matches your server; inspect the resulting tree and run the same version, map, and cpm-help checks as a manual install.
Never let an update job replace files while the game process is running. Schedule updates during a maintenance window, retain the previous archive for rollback, and verify that the save opens before deleting the backup.
When a managed host is worth considering
You can install both mods on a self-managed machine, but a managed host is convenient when you do not have shell access or firewall control. It is optional; the mods remain server-side either way.
| Capability to compare | Why it matters for Alloc’s and CPM |
|---|---|
| Panel file manager or SFTP access | You must place mod directories directly under Mods/ and preserve DLL and metadata files. |
| Branch and version controls | You need to select the exact stable, experimental, or numbered game branch supported by your archives. |
Editable serverconfig.xml and serveradmin.xml |
Web dashboard, map rendering, roles, and command permissions depend on these files. |
| Web-dashboard port and firewall control | A correct configuration is useless if the provider does not expose the selected port. |
| Console or RCON access | You need version, cpm-help, shutdown commands, and webtokens add. |
| Backups and restore points | Rollback protects the world and configuration after an incompatible update. |
| Support for the exact game branch | Generic mod support does not guarantee support for your current branch. |
Ask the provider these questions before migrating: Can you upload arbitrary DLL-based server mods? Can you open the dashboard port? Can you restore the complete Mods/ directory and save? Can support confirm the exact game branch? A “one-click mod” label is not a substitute for those answers.
Rollback and clean removal
Restore a known-good installation
- Stop the server.
- Move the current Alloc’s and CPM directories out of
Mods/instead of deleting them immediately. - Restore the backed-up
Mods/directory and any original web assets. - Restore matching configuration files if permissions or web settings were changed.
- Start the server and run
versionto confirm the restored components.
Remove the mods deliberately
If you no longer need CPM, remove 1CSMM_Patrons and undo any CPM-specific web asset change while the server is stopped. If you remove Alloc’s as well, also remove or disable web-dashboard settings and revoke tokens that no longer have a service behind them. Keep the save backup because other server tools may have written data while the mods were enabled.
Quick Recap
Final installation checklist
- The server branch is recorded and the archives match it.
- The server was stopped before every file change.
- The save, configuration, and
