To install a Samsung stacking kit, first confirm that the kit is compatible with both appliance model numbers, then follow the instructions for that exact kit. Samsung’s standard and Bespoke kits use different parts and steps. Unplug the appliances before you begin, and have two people lift the dryer onto the washer.
Before installation: check the kit and prepare
Find the full model number of the washer and dryer, along with the stacking kit’s SKU. Samsung says the kit must be compatible with both appliances; a general size match does not guarantee that a particular pair will work. Samsung’s US overview describes SKK-8K as designed for most Samsung 27-inch front-load laundry pairs, but “most” is not confirmation for every model. Check the current, regional guidance for your exact pair before opening or fitting parts. Identify which Samsung kit procedure applies
Do not choose a procedure by appearance alone. Samsung publishes different parts and steps for standard Stacking and MultiControl kits and for Bespoke kits. Use the guide for the purchased SKU and appliance pair. The Samsung US installation instructions provide the respective procedures.

The standard sequence uses support guides fitted into the dryer base, rear brackets attached to the washer, and screws to secure the appliances. Depending on the kit, the instructions also cover a side stacking bracket, a rear bracket, a wire connection, covers, and wire holders. Do not treat the sequence below as a substitute for the exact supplied guide; bracket placement and tightening order matter.

- Place the unplugged dryer on a stable, non-slippery surface and tilt it onto its side as directed in the kit guide.
- Secure the dryer legs, then insert the stacking support guides into the rectangular openings in the dryer base until they click.
- Loosely fit the rear brackets to the washer as shown in the guide.
- With two people, lift the dryer onto the washer and slide it back against the brackets.
- Align the brackets with the dryer’s mounting holes. Tighten the dryer-side and washer-side screws in the order specified by the guide.
- Install the remaining right-side stacking bracket and left-side rear bracket if they are included in your kit and shown in its instructions.
- Where the kit guide specifies a wire connection, connect it at the designated appliance ports without pulling the wire. Close the covers and secure the wire holders as instructed.
Kit contents can vary. For example, Samsung Canada lists SKK-8MC with two stacking support guides, a rear bracket, screws, washers, and an assembly bracket. That regional parts list is not a universal guide to other kit SKUs. See Samsung Canada’s kit guidance.
Bespoke Stacking and MultiControl kits
The Bespoke procedure uses a different arrangement, including stacking guides and top-cover brackets, plus a bracket guide and front cover. Samsung’s listed components also include screws and washers; the instructions specify a MultiControl cable connection. Follow the Bespoke guide rather than adapting the standard-kit sequence.

- With two people, lift the dryer into position and align its rear legs with the slots in the stacking guides.
- Install the bracket guide and front cover using the specified hardware.
- Connect the MultiControl cable to the designated ports on both appliances and attach the wire holders as directed.
If a bracket or guide does not line up
Stop rather than forcing a bracket, leaving out a part, or substituting unrelated hardware. Recheck both appliance model numbers, the kit SKU, and the supplied guide. Samsung emphasizes model compatibility and publishes kit-specific components and procedures; a part that does not fit may indicate the wrong kit or a different procedure. Contact Samsung support or a qualified installer if the parts still do not match.
When to choose professional installation
Stacking requires lifting the dryer onto the washer and correctly securing the appliances. If you cannot arrange a safe two-person lift or confidently follow the model-specific guide, use a qualified installer. Samsung describes an installation-service option for customers purchasing a washer, dryer, and stacking kit, but availability depends on location and purchase channel. Check Samsung’s US support information or Samsung Canada’s guidance for the relevant market.
