Insert the SIM card
- Turn off the phone. Verizon’s A14 5G support guide advises powering the device off before inserting or removing a SIM; handling the card while the phone is on may harm the SIM or device.
- Locate and release the tray. With the screen facing up, Verizon’s guide places the tray on the upper-left edge. Insert the SIM ejector tool straight into the small tray hole, then gently pull the tray out. The A146 manual calls for a removal tool; use one that fits rather than poking or levering at the tray.
- Seat the nano-SIM. Match the card’s shape and cut corner to the tray recess. In the cited A146 manual, the gold contacts face down. The card should lie flat in the correct position; do not force it.
- Add a microSD card only if needed. If your tray and model guide show a microSD position, place the optional card in that designated section. Do not assume every regional variant uses the same tray arrangement.
- Reinsert the tray. Align it with the slot and slide it in gently until it is fully seated. If it resists, remove it and check that the SIM is correctly positioned rather than pushing harder.
- Turn the phone on and check service. Network access depends on your service provider. If the phone does not recognize the SIM or connect, confirm the card is seated and contact your carrier about activation or service.
If the tray or SIM does not match these instructions
