Check your Galaxy A13 model and SIM tray
Find the model number in Settings or on the phone’s packaging, then use the matching Samsung manual for the tray diagram and card orientation. Samsung lists manuals for models including SM-A135F and SM-A137; choose the one that matches your phone rather than relying on a diagram for a different A13 variant. Samsung Philippines’ SM-A135F support page lists Android 14 and Android 13 manuals, while Samsung UAE’s SM-A137 support page lists Android 14 manuals.

For Samsung’s US unlocked Galaxy A13, the product sheet identifies a single-SIM tray labeled “Nano SIM + MicroSD.” The Galaxy A13 5G is a distinct model; its Samsung specification sheet describes a SIM + SD Card slot. These documents establish details for the listed configurations, not every regional or carrier version. Samsung’s US unlocked A13 specification sheet and Samsung’s A13 5G specification sheet are useful references.

How to remove the SIM tray
- Power off the phone as a precaution and locate the SIM tray shown in the manual for your exact model.
- Use the SIM eject pin supplied with the phone, if available. Insert it into the small eject hole beside the tray and press gently until the tray loosens. Samsung describes the general technique as inserting the ejection pin into the tray hole to loosen the tray, then pulling the tray out gently; its cited repair guide is for a Tab S10, so use your A13 manual to identify the correct hole. Samsung’s repair guide explains the general method.
- Pull the tray straight out gently. Do not force it or insert the pin into a microphone opening; if you are unsure which opening is the eject hole, consult the model-specific diagram first.
Place the SIM card in the tray
Match the SIM’s shape and cut corner to the outline printed on the tray or shown in the matching manual. The US unlocked Galaxy A13 specification identifies a Nano SIM for that configuration. Do not assume a card orientation from another phone or variant; the precise A13 orientation should come from your model’s diagram.

If you are adding a microSD card, place it only in the designated outline and only if your version supports it. The US unlocked A13 sheet lists microSD support up to 1 TB. Samsung’s SM-A137 product page notes that microSD is sold separately. Samsung’s SM-A137 product page has model-specific details.
Reinsert the tray and check detection
- With the card seated flat in its outline, slide the tray back into the phone evenly and gently, following the direction shown in your manual.
- If the tray resists, stop. Remove it and recheck the card’s placement and the tray’s direction against the model-specific diagram rather than pushing harder.
- Turn the phone on and check whether it detects the SIM and connects to your carrier. If it does not, confirm with the carrier that the SIM is activated and compatible with your phone’s model and service before concluding that the card is faulty.
What if your A13 uses a different SIM setup?
Galaxy A13 specifications and support can differ by model, country, and carrier. Samsung’s Gulf support article, updated September 19, 2026, includes Galaxy A13 in an eSIM support list but cautions that eSIM availability varies by country and carrier, including country of origin. That listing does not establish eSIM availability for every A13. Check your exact model’s Samsung support information and your carrier’s requirements.
