To improve your Snap Score safely, use Snapchat itself: send and receive Snaps and post Stories. Snapchat confirms those activities contribute to your score, but it does not publish the full formula, so no legitimate guide can promise a fixed number of points for each action. Avoid score-boosting apps and plug-ins; Snapchat says they can put accounts at risk.
What activities can improve your Snap Score?
Snapchat says its score equation combines the number of Snaps you have sent and received, the Stories you have posted, and “a couple other factors.” Those are the activities the company identifies publicly; the rest of the formula remains undisclosed. Snapchat Support: What is a Snapscore?
- Send Snaps to friends.
- Open and receive Snaps.
- Post Stories.
There is no reliable public calculation for the exact increase from a particular Snap or Story. Treat websites or apps promising a precise points-per-action formula as unsupported, not official Snapchat guidance.
How to check your Snap Score
Open your Profile screen in Snapchat. Snapchat says your score appears under your name. The score may not update in a way that makes every individual action easy to track, and Snapchat does not publish a per-action point breakdown.

Optional: enable Snapchat+ Snapscore Multiplier
Snapchat+ subscribers can choose to enable a Snapscore Multiplier. Snapchat describes it as allowing twice-as-fast score growth when you send a Snap to or receive one from another Snapchat+ subscriber. It is off by default and applies only to those eligible exchanges; it is not required for ordinary score growth. Snapchat Support: How does Snapscore Multiplier work with Snapchat+?
- Open your Snapchat+ membership settings.
- Find the Snapscore Multiplier option and switch it on.
- Exchange Snaps with another Snapchat+ subscriber to use the feature.
The multiplier is an optional paid-subscription feature. Regular Snaps and Stories remain the straightforward option if you do not subscribe. Snapchat’s “twice as fast” wording is its feature description, not an independently measured promise of a particular number of points.

Why you should avoid third-party score apps
Unauthorized apps and plug-ins that claim to boost a Snap Score violate Snapchat’s Terms of Service, according to Snapchat. The company warns they may put your account and your friends’ accounts at risk, cause login problems, or lead to an account lock. They also cannot make the hidden score formula verifiable. If you already used one
- Uninstall the unauthorized app or plug-in.
- Change your Snapchat password.
These are Snapchat’s recommended steps for people who have used an unauthorized app. Do not give a third-party service your Snapchat login to pursue a score increase.

Can you reset or lower a Snap Score?
No. Snapchat states that there is no way to lower or reset a Snapscore. Deleting an account, changing settings, or using a third-party tool is not an official score-reset method.
