On desktop Vivaldi, start at Vivaldi menu > File > Import from Applications or Files, choose Google Chrome, select the data types the dialog offers, and click Start Import. Bookmarks can also be brought in from a bookmarks HTML file. Password transfer depends on browser support; close Chrome before trying it, and use Vivaldi’s CSV import option only with care because the file exposes the passwords it contains.

The available choices depend on the source browser and your Vivaldi setup. Vivaldi’s desktop import and export guide says bookmarks can be imported, while other data—including passwords and history—may be available depending on the browser. It does not promise that every Chrome preference, extension, cookie, or other site state will transfer.
Import bookmarks if Chrome is not detected
If Chrome does not appear in the browser list or direct bookmark import fails, import a bookmarks HTML file instead. In the same Vivaldi menu > File > Import from Applications or Files dialog, select the HTML-file option, choose the bookmarks file, and start the import. Vivaldi documents this as an alternative for bookmarks; it is not a general replacement for transferring passwords or all browser settings.
Transfer passwords cautiously
Try browser-to-browser import first
Close Chrome completely before starting the import. Reopen Vivaldi’s import dialog, select Chrome, and choose the password option if it is offered. Vivaldi notes that password import is not possible from every browser, so the option may not appear and a successful transfer is not guaranteed.

Use a CSV only if the direct option is unavailable
Vivaldi also documents importing passwords from a CSV file. In Vivaldi, open vivaldi:password-manager/settings, find Import passwords, choose the exported CSV file, and open it. Vivaldi warns that passwords stored in a CSV are visible to anyone who can access that file.

Keep the exported CSV in a private location and use it only for the transfer.

After importing, check that the passwords you need are present in Vivaldi.

Remove the CSV when you have verified the import, and empty any trash or recycle bin where it may remain.

What “settings” means in this transfer
Use the import dialog to see which data types your Vivaldi installation offers. Vivaldi says additional browser data may be available depending on the source, but its guide does not provide a complete Chrome-to-Vivaldi map of settings. Treat each listed item as a specific import option rather than assuming that all Chrome preferences, extensions, cookies, or signed-in site sessions will move.

Chrome is missing from the list: Check the import dialog’s available sources, or use the documented bookmarks HTML route for bookmarks.

Password import is missing or fails: Confirm Chrome is closed, then see whether your Vivaldi version offers Import passwords in

The data-type choices differ: Menu wording, supported data types, and password availability can vary with operating system, installation type, and browser version. Vivaldi’s desktop guides do not provide a full platform-by-platform compatibility matrix.

You are moving Vivaldi data between computers: Do not treat copying a raw browser profile as the routine migration method. Vivaldi recommends Sync and its in-browser import/export features for Vivaldi-to-Vivaldi transfers; it warns that moving a profile between computers or users does not transfer saved passwords and cookies. See the profile management guide.
Verify the move before cleaning up Chrome
Open the relevant bookmark folders and check a few entries. For passwords, confirm that expected logins appear in Vivaldi’s password manager before removing the temporary CSV or making changes to Chrome. The import dialog’s available options are the practical guide to what your particular desktop installation can transfer.
